Rot is a paper note in Fallout 76, introduced in the Expeditions: Atlantic City update part two, America's Playground.

The note can be found at the community center in Atlantic City. It is in an employees only area on the second floor, east of the press conference room; the note is next to the abandoned terminal.

Sometimes I think the plant monsters aren't just another mutation. Could they be the dead, the blood I've spilled? Even indirectly. They don't think, do they? But they've got guns, some of 'em, at least. Their eyes are empty, but their faces are so human. Uncanny. Can't let anyone know it's getting to me. Can't let the rock shatter.
I'm starting to sound like a madman, it's true. I saw Sloane shoot one the other day. One of the fast ones. It made this gurgling noise when it went down, but for a second, I thought I heard her voice. Her screams. Even I know it's impossible, but I can't deny my own senses. If I can't trust my own head, then who can I trust?!
Perhaps it was just my memory, coming back to haunt me.
