Last chronicle of Sgt. Ning, Hellcat Company -- or what's left of it, anyway.

We've spent a long time in the Pitt. The wars among its occupants have been incessant, but all that is finally drawing to a close. Not much left in the way of resistance, anymore. The Fanatics own damn near everything. Only the Union remains... Until this monolith falls apart and it starts all over again.

We made the right choice becoming mercenaries, I still believe that. Fought on every which side and made a killing doing it. We came out on top, and now we should get the hell out before the Fanatics turn on us, too.

Some of the others may have doubts, given the casualties we've sustained, and I get that. Has to be that half of us are gone now, from when I started. Maybe more, hard to keep count. But that's behind us now. I have no interest in sticking around to find out what "peace time" means for these raiders. I'm moving on to greener pastures.

This world needs its killers, or its defenders, or whatever you'll pay me to be. Have to be other towns out there just as fucked as we were by the war and the bombs and everything that goes with it. I hear Kit's taking some of the others and heading south, but that sounds weak... Appalachia is soft, no bombs there, no challenge.

No, I'll go elsewhere. See what trouble I can get into. Gets my blood pumping just thinking about it.
