'Header' at bottom of loooong tables[]

Hi J, would it be ok if I add a footer that anchors a loooong table ? Here is an example of what I mean. The top of the table has the header row which shows " Image Name DT DR Weight Value, etc ", and if you scroll to the bottom of the table you will see that the bottom shows the exact same. This would only be for our few suuuuper long tables. It doesn't affect anything else in the table, and the table is still sortable by clicking the up/dn arrow in the column you want to sort by in the header. Is that something you can say 'sure, do it' or does it need to be voted on ? Thanks ! - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 22:37, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

Sadly, I haven't been able to figure out how to lock a row in the middle of a table, I've only been able to figure out how to successfully add a locked row to the bottom of the table. But, felt like that was better than nothing, and really it's only needed for the few super long tables in the wiki. I'll google and see if I can figure out mid-table. edit: it has to be "locked" to a spot because the tables are sortable - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 18:16, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Sorry it's been so long. I do eventually circle back around to things, even if it's months (or years!) later. I have found two possible solutions to use instead of the footer row idea ... the fandom-table has a sticky header that we could look at the code and implement? (see examples how it works on the 4 tables that are fandom-table). Also, wikipedia has a template that works more smoothly than fandom-table. I like it better, plus it can be used as needed instead of being the default for all tables. Since sticky certainly isn't needed for a table with just a couple of rows, for example. See here and also here. - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 21:46, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
I agree, I like our va-table formatting better than the fandom-table. However, I am just talking about looking at their code to copy the coding that makes the header sticky. That's why I gave the links, so you could see how the sticky header works on a live page (scroll down while viewing one of the 4 fandom-tables to see the header stay in view as you move). But like I said, I think the wikipedia template that implements a sticky header is better because it moves more smoothly AND it can be used only when needed by inserting the {{sticky header}} template into the table. Examples on how that one works is in the two tables at the top of the section with the two tables that have 4 rows titled red lime gold blue. Either way, we would still have our va-table formatting on our tables (colors, spacing, text size, etc), with the option to have the header row be sticky. I anticipate we would only use this on tables that are really long, where you scroll down & now you don't know which column is which, so you have to scroll back up & this degrades user experience. Think of freezing a line at the top of a spreadsheet in excel or google docs, this is the same principle. - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 16:51, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

User rights request ended[]

Hey there, J. My user rights request just wrapped up its voting period, so if you could tackle that whenever you're available, it'd be much appreciated. LaymansReign (talk) 14:11, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

Patch calendar[]

Howdy, J. I noticed on the patch calendar on the Fallout 76 updates page that it still says (Winter 2022) underneath Nuka-World on Tour. I believe this is a leftover from when we didn't know the exact release date of that update, so that text can probably be removed. LaymansReign (talk) 18:26, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for corrections[]

Just wanted to leave a personal thanks for correcting my mistaken associations with the Charleston Condo CC content. Made the mistake of loading all on the CC modules at once and lost track of where I was in the list when entering the data. --Azure Fang (talk) 01:05, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

Admin rights request.[]

Heads-up! I've made a forum to request admin rights. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Forum:Administrator_Request_-_Anachorite?t=20240613000050 --Anachorite (talk) 00:02, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Retraction[]

The time's not right so I'm retracting my admin rights request. --Anachorite (talk) 10:48, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

Vault 63 gallery?![]

Hi I've noticed you changed my screenshots file names, therefore they no longer appear on the gallery, do you think you'll be able to put the renamed files back into the gallery because it unfortunetly took ages to arrange the images in a certian order and wouldn't want my work going to waste. Anyways thank you for understanding, have a nice day. GejziRoOwski

Re: Image request[]

To quickly clarify, do you mean map marker images like this? LaymansReign (talk) 14:29, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Got it, I can certainly get on top of that, then. LaymansReign (talk) 14:31, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Hey there, saw that you went ahead and got on top of these. Sorry for putting it off, aha. If you need any help, let me know. LaymansReign (talk) 17:19, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
That's all of the marked locations, so that's covered. The cave mentioned is the Marys Rock Tunnel, which is unmarked. LaymansReign (talk) 01:40, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
I can definitely do that, I was intending on finally doing the Atlantic City content on this character anyhow. I haven't updated it for Skyline Valley yet, but I do have a project page for notes that are missing images, and I was hoping to tackle some of the AC ones there, too. LaymansReign (talk) 15:21, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Skyline Drive: Entrance is right next to Thunder Mountain substation TM-03; they might as well be part of the same location (which is probably why the Entrance was made unmarked in the PTS). Treetop lookout is a bit more of an interesting case, because from what I've been told, there might be a cut interior associated with it, though I haven't been able to dig up much on it. There is, however, an unmarked "treetop lookout" shortly northwest of Research Site Saxony (directly above the turkey on the world map) that seems to be what it's referring to. It's very close to where the torn notes are found, to the point I'd include them on the location page. LaymansReign (talk) 17:18, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Also, letting you know I've now cleaned up all of the Special:WantedFiles. Looks like it was mostly some cut content whose pages hadn't been cleaned up yet, as well as some of the side characters from Custodial Compulsions. LaymansReign (talk) 02:32, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

Looking to resume my duties as a Patroller[]

My lord, I am requesting to be a patroller once again now that I'm no longer on hiatus. Your blessing would be greatly appreciated! Enclavesymbol 07:40 PM 06/18/2024 (EST)

Help with an edit please[]

I am trying to correct a broken link that hasn't worked since 2017. It was last working here, and when I open that old page it works. I copied & pasted exactly what was there before but it's not working on the live page. The link that's not working is the (note) next to scotch, vodka, & wine. Thanks in advance for your help - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 00:20, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

never mind, I figured it out and fixed it - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 00:53, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

TV series weapon infoboxes[]

Hi, I'd leave the infoboxes in place for the weapons where we know the ammo type, since that's at least one useful piece of info we can put there (like on Tranq gun (TV series)) and only remove them from ones where the only thing in the infobox would be the name and image. JagoAndLitefoot (aka Ausir) (talk) 01:21, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Vault 63 organics sector[]

Yeah, no problem! I'm still only halfway done haha, will finish up the edit in a bit. And yeah, I can add those screenshots afterwards. I'm not certain *how* the Labs card is received -- it seems to be automatically added when you need to access the pharmaceuticals room (after hearing Hilda on the intercom, I think.) A Gift[]

You have been given the Eagle Eyes award.
Your efforts and diligence have not gone unnoticed, and you have been given a small token of appreciation.
You have been given the Eagle Eyes award for watching over this Wiki like a hawk and, at a single glance, noticing needed corrections, no matter how small (like a single apostrophe out of place). You rock. Thanks for all you do, Superman !! - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 21:25, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Hot Key, hot key, hotkey, or hot-key ? Gallery image widths[]

Hot Key, hot key, hotkey, or hot-key ? Which should I use ? Is this used differently on a game-by-game basis ? I have found all those versions in the wiki, and probably other variations I haven't found like Hot key and Hotkey. Do we have anyone with a bot that could send it through the pages to standardize them ? - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 20:21, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

BTW, in the Pip-Boy for FO3 & FNV it's Hot Key. I'm thinking Hot Key when referring to the name of the function but hot key for other uses like "To hot key an item...". Also, I noticed on the FNV mailbox page, you changed gallery to gallery widths=200. Eventually, are you looking for all pages to have the image widths set to 200 or is that on a case-by-case basis ? I can try to remember to start making that edit whenever I see no setting or the 185 setting on pages that I'm editing. However, it should actually be gallery width not widths, is that correct or do both terms work ? And, making sure you see the msg about the sticky header tables solutions I found (since it's in a msg from some time back now and not at the bottom of the talk page). Thanks! - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 05:21, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

User rights notice[]

Hey J, just wanted to give you a heads-up that User:Eckserah has now passed the six month threshold regarding the rights-holder activity policy, if you're able to go ahead and make the necessary changes there, that'd be great. Thanks. LaymansReign (talk) 02:20, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
