Unarmed[]

Is there a particular reason why the more comprehensible 5 + .5*st + .5*ag edit was instantly reverted? (216.21.38.170 17:37, January 5, 2012 (UTC))

the edit was done in line with someone else's suggestion on the talk page. currently the math is needlessly convoluted and unintuitive for what is essentially just half a point per agility and strength. fallout 3/new vegas is a bit better if only because they also provide tables.

More to the point, a lot of the formulas for fallout/2 are convoluted for unnecessary multiplication, like the (1% * some maths). Nowhere in any science that I can think of do you do something like that (i.e. 1 gram * some maths). The units are provided already in the left hand side of the initial formula, so the unit is implied. Adding redundancy in the example just adds more unnecessary information and slows comprehension. Just intuitively, which is easier to quickly read/calculate? 1% * (5 + 5)/2 or .5 * 5 + .5 * 5? or if decimals are too unfriendly, 5/2 + 5/2? (216.21.38.170 18:00, January 5, 2012 (UTC))

Uhh... I can only say that I can zoom-in by clicking the right button and to remove the sub-titles I enter tm, as you explained. I will see in future what to do with images. As for the refID's, don't you need a G.E.C.K. for them (as I don't have a one)?

That includes the mess hall quests, Pvt Morales's quest, the discount from Dr. Kemp and some of Contreras's quests. I looked at the associated script and I can't tell what conditions there are for them to appear. Then again, I suck at reading scripts. Maybe you just have to start any of those quests for the script to start running. Also, here's a bunch of lines I pulled from the geck. Some might make a few decent quotes:

Question regarding blogpost[]

Hi Js! Since I'm not an able wiki editor, I was wondering what the reason for you to edit my blog post's videos was. One of them is now missing btw, so it's actually effecting the content even though I don't see what the codingchange does.

Btw. There seems to be an issue with the recent blog post page not showing latest updates and only going as far as december 2011, whereas the blog category page does indeed update properly. Can something be done about this?

I obviously screwed up my new sig[]

Well, I guess that I thought I made my new signature properly, but I see that after I edited the new logo forum page the recent activity log shows that I added the actual graphic in my sig to the page. What the heck did I do wrong? It looks correct on the page, but I obviously screwed something up. That edit I reverted by him wasn't intentional vandalism. Some folks (including me) were discussing the seemingly incorrect crit% chance number in the infobox and he took it upon himself to try to get it to read what the geck number was. Seems I got on in time for the ending for this debate. May I ask for some sort of reasoning before it is added back in? I usually agree with the administration when they are needed as mediators, but I feel strongly that this information is mere speculation and has no real place here. I have listed many reasons and Yessie included a strong point that I hadn't even taken into consideration. So far, the only real argument I have seen is that The Family had plans to drink blood so they are to be considered vampires - resulting in this comparison between them and a small community in Romania that personally has nothing to do with Dracula himself. I would also like to point out again that The Family are not vampires. I don't like that you discredit my reasonings with an assumption that holds no water when considering the "Geek knowledge" that is allowed here. I had noted my concerns to Itachou in the past, but I wasn't very satisfied with his answer. Because of this, I would like your opinion now on whether or not the NV variant of the Bozar should be classified as a LMG or a sniper. I understand that the original Bozar was a sniper without a doubt in my mind... I feel as if they embraced the mistake they made on the original and have now made the Bozar as a LMG. Seems to be indicated by the fact that it uses the same ammo and has the same area of DPS as other LMG variants. (Notable is the fact that it is even repaired by the LMG.) Your words on the Forum page I created about the chat mod/mod titles exactly matched what I was thinking about quite a lot over the past week. When I originally applied for moderator, I was mainly seeking the rollback (and ok, patrol) rights, to facilitate my work here. In addition, I thought that having chat banning rights was just another feature, in case people needed to be banned or unbanned. I wasn't aware of the obligation to be on chat often, as people have said, not that I mind it at all. I'm more like you, Js, I'm simply more of a wiki editor guy, as opposed to a chat guy. Now, with the "Chat moderator" title I must wait until March to apply for adminship. Deleted images[]

I was just wondering about deleted images and the red links they might leave behind. Has the creation of a "Image Deleted" page ever been considered? (I searched to see if we had one and couldn't find one) When images are deleted, a redirect could send the user to the "Image deleted" page rather than leaving it as a red link. I don't know if this could be useful or not, since only admins do the deletes and probably will fix the bad links if there are any, but maybe if this could be an automatically scripted thing it might save you some time fixing those links. Moriarty's cabinet key[]

While checking the most recent edits on Fallout 3 keys and Moriarty's Saloon, I saw the note about the cabinet key not being attainable. I checked the GECK, and as far as I can tell, the key (00087d86) shows use in Gob's and Moriarty's inventory, as well as by the container MQ01Moriartyfilingcabinet. The long posted note about the key being unattainable seems to be incorrect, but I'm not the best at reading these GECK usages. Could you check this out and see if you agree before I change the page? F:NV Skills: "Max Skills"[]

Administration thingies[]

I made it with the future in mind, especially with the period when Fallout 4 is released. Chat in June, July and August was packed beyond imagining, often with 30+ active chatters, with over 100 posts a minute. That was almost a year after FNV was released. I expect chat to be even more trafficked by Fallout 4. I might be the only administrator now, but I sincerely hope that more people will start to frequent chat, and some future administrators are chat users (TwoBears, amongst others). The endorsement system was really the only way to fix the fact that there's no way to measure how well a user behaves in chat, how often he/she is in chat or how well they know the rules. There's just no way. Therefore an admin endorsement is sort of a "stamp of approval" on their conduct. As of now I'm basically the only one, but as I said, I'm hoping our numbers will increase.

As for Sigma, yes, he'll be able to apply as planned as the new rules state clearly that it has to have been a failed application for the two month waiting period to kick in. So expect him to apply. Hugs ^{"Say 'ello to my little friend!"}

Weapon durability table[]

I put a table up on the .44 magnum revolver (Fallout: New Vegas) page showing weapon durability across all mods and ammo types (it's a test, some of the data needs adjustment) as part of the weapon condition project. Logo Change[]

To be honest Jspoel, I don't blame you, and I'm almost afraid to say I think you're right. In my mind, a restart now is out of the question, either we continue and get it over and done with, or put it on the backburner - and right now I'm thinking the second is probably the better option. I've been putting some thought into my previously stated intention to pubish the Beth v Interplay court docs after everything had died down, but now I'm not sure I should, or at least, not here if I do. Its my understanding that court docs are supposed to be public information and all (so I don't see a copyright issue or anything like that) but my concern is how and where they would exactly fit here - as they're not about in game material (or even in cancelled game material) I'm thinking they might not belong here. They'd be a nice few dozen edits in the edit count for me, but I don't want to post it only to have it deleted. The court documents are on a US System called PACER; although its considered public record, and thus we (or anyone else) can reproduce without permission (it says this in their FAQs), to actually access it on PACER you need to be a member, and pay for access (10 cents per page), so a direct link to documents wouldnt work. No you've missed the main point; you've always been cold towards me. It's honestly not that important to me now, but I just mentioned in chat that it bugged me slightly that while I was here first, you were emotionless towards everyone except the people who had been here longer than you, Ghost and Kas. It was fine until of course you started to be friendly towards everyone here, and yet you still can't find it in yourself to be friendly to me, all because I chose the Vault? I'm not buying that. You have a problem with me, and I'd like to know what it really is, because out of the 8 months I've been around, you're still as formidable as ever. I guess it doesn't really matter though. I'm also a bit confused as to the extent of the "communication issues". I'll admit I do need some work in the area, especially to Ci, which I do sincerely regret and will improve upon. I've learnt a lot from the feedback people have provided too. I'm never afraid to admit mistakes, learn from them, or to ask others. I think it's my viewpoints, mixed with a lot of confusion and misunderstanding that people look negatively on (remember the whole mod/ToCxHawK thing?) After the recent words from Cartman! and resulting actions by other users, I don't feel there is much point or benefit to this any more. Thus I took down my application. I am also going to leave this wiki once and for all, the details can be found in my recent blog post if you care. You've really been the only person I can call a friend here. Yes it would. I hope he reconsiders, and I understand he's hurt by this, but those saying he's proving his immaturity have a point. You don't run from adversity, you embrace it and overcome it. I'll plug along alone if I have to. It's a small project that's almost done anyways, unless I decide to add those tables to the NV pages. I still would like your input on that. You do not need to complete the Honest Hearts notes and holodisks table. I already done it, I added Randall Clark's terminal entries that is downloaded in the game from his terminals in the form of holodisks. Clarification[]

Hi, could clarify something for me please? Should bugs like the permanently-burning dismembered body parts be listed on every weapon that causes burns? That seems somewhat redundant to me. Limmiegirl 11:16, January 24, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what I thought. I've seem that bug mentioned in lots of fire-based weapons, like here: [[5]]. There are other examples, like mentioning in explosives weapons' pages that they might send corpses flying away, etc. Thanks for clearing it up, I'll keep an eye out for those from now on.
