Vault 63 information[]

Hello, I saw you deleted my message. I specifically asked on the talk page because I didn't expect an anonymous user to reply back. I thought there would be several people on the wiki that maybe know how he got this information. Is there any way to look in the game files yet, for example in Creation Kit or anything of that kind? I'm curious to extract more information by this means. Thanks in advance. DaveViking (talk) 20:38, November 21, 2018 (UTC)

Fly[]

It wasn't me who took that screenshot but someone else I asked to do it. I play on Xbox One so I can't take a close up, but if you're on PC then maybe you can. You can find them around any decaying body that's about to despawn right? Eddo36 (talk) 22:54, November 11, 2018 (UTC)

https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/120/images/3211-5-1236696510.jpg Here is a detailed picture of one in FO3, made targettable with a mod. When you kill something then leave the area and wait a little and come back, you should see them swarming the corpse. Eddo36 (talk) 18:49, November 13, 2018 (UTC)

Fallout 76[]

I believe so. I don't have a physical copy as of yet (I'm getting mine this morning). But the official midnight launch was 7 hours ago now. Given that its possible to get our sweet little hands on it, I figured that counted as being released. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:05, November 13, 2018 (UTC)

Yeah. Netherlands is a little behind us time wise. Having said that though, our internet is so bad that you will probably be playing it before me (given the 100gb download) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:09, November 13, 2018 (UTC)
Day one patch is supposed to be 100gb. That *MAY* include the game itself as well, but I am not certain on that one yet. Ill find out in a few hours TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:13, November 13, 2018 (UTC)

Classical radio[]

Why are you removing the Wikipedia links? I am just trying to be consistent!

Then why are there still Wikipedia links on the fallout 4 page on classical radio?

Please can you rename a typo on a file i uploaded[]

Hello i uploadede an image named "Fo76 launch code entry panel keypad .png" and i accidentally leave a extra space at the end of the name before the dot can you please delete that extra space, tank you

how its named now

File:Fo76 launch code entry panel keypad .png

how i intended to name it

File:Fo76 launch code entry panel keypad.png

currently im only adding those to a "test" article User:Holakc/test where im trying to complete an article before puting it on the real deal I Am Become Death

thank you very much --Holakc (talk) 18:42, November 15, 2018 (UTC)

Perk Card Builder[]

Okay, I uploaded this to my main site here

Everything should be pretty self explanatory, though I'm not entirely certain how the points correspond to the rank - beyond assuming they're not directly related. I'd suggest leaving the points set to 1, but let me know if there's any weirdness if setting it to a different number. I also included a "Save" button, which will save it with the name of the perk, with the "FO76_" prefix. Might save some time, over doing the right-click, "save as" option, where it will default to "download.png", and I can't change that name.

The title is set to automatically convert whatever is typed into upper case, so you don't have to worry about capitalization.

Obviously, I haven't tested every single perk, so if you see anything that differs from how it appears in-game, let me know, and I'll tweak as necessaryDulogoDigital Utopia (talk) 03:27, November 17, 2018 (UTC)

Moving pages[]

Those ones I've been moving are in Fallout 76, they just dont have pages as of yet. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:45, November 17, 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, I was getting weird restriction errors when I was trying to move pages :( TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:48, November 17, 2018 (UTC)
Yep. That was next on the list. Completing the list first :) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 22:03, November 17, 2018 (UTC)
I cannot move Pastor's vestments, Radstag hide outfit, Ratty skirt, Red dress, Patched suit, Patched three-piece suit, summer shorts, surveyor outfit, or suspenders and slacks. As for the links - I'll fix those later tonight when I next onto the computer (Kids are awake now, and demanding food). TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 22:13, November 17, 2018 (UTC)

Patch notes[]

Do we document them here? (Id highly recommend it for a game that will keep evolving, like 76). If so, what naming procedure exists for naming? here is the notes themselves TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:05, November 19, 2018 (UTC)

Will do shortly. Just didnt want to do it if it was a policy not to have them :) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:11, November 19, 2018 (UTC)

Challenges[]

  • Do we want to record the daily/weekly challenges? Because at some point, well forget them :( TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 05:33, November 20, 2018 (UTC)
so grouped, rather than chronolgocial? TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:35, November 20, 2018 (UTC)
Well... yeah. Daily challenges tend to be... daily :p but to avoid complete messiness, I totally agree that grouped into building/etc makes a LOT more sense. (Also, is that site ALLOWEDN to be mentiomed here? :p) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:48, November 20, 2018 (UTC)
So ... this is EXACTLY like eso situation then. Content race! XD TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:54, November 20, 2018 (UTC)

For link[]

Technically, EVERYTHING is right there in the search bar? I dont understand? TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 18:55, November 22, 2018 (UTC)

Aaaaah. Okay. I get you now :) that ... makes more sense. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 19:00, November 22, 2018 (UTC)

Empty lines[]

Roger that. Can you please remove them on the preload pages please? That's where I got them from. (I'd remove them myself but Admin-only page) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:57, November 22, 2018 (UTC)

No extra lines added elsewhere with the autocreate TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:03, November 22, 2018 (UTC)
There's an extraneous line in the "include only bit". For example: [1] this does not have that, and has no additional line, as its not being asked to add it :P TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:05, November 22, 2018 (UTC)

Why did you take my page (Fox Hide) down? I saw that the wiki didn't have an article on it so i thought i would help out by adding it and most of my edits are getting deleted so please tell me what i'm doing wrong. And please notify if someone makes a Fox Hide page

Lakeside Cabins[]

Lakeside Cabins is a Public Workshop with claim and defend quests and material excavation sites specific to Fallout 76. Why does the page keep getting deleted?

TGiTacks (talk) 23:00, November 22, 2018 (UTC)

Perk cards[]

Sure! Just to clarify, the images need to be of the perk's first rank, right? AllYourFavorites! (talk) 16:18, November 24, 2018 (UTC)

I'm having an issue where the text stretches out to the ends of the card instead of staying centered. For example, Basher would stretch out to these giant letters. How would I fix this? AllYourFavorites! (talk) 16:26, November 24, 2018 (UTC)
I meant the header, but it was a lot bigger than it was supposed to be. Changing the font settings fixed it though. :) AllYourFavorites! (talk) 16:35, November 24, 2018 (UTC)

Blocked[]

I saw that you blocked my account, Thebirdman567. Thing is, I don’t understand why. What I believe is that on Eastern Regional Penitentiary, I was correcting the type of ‘building’ to ‘goodneighbor’. I assume the person who was changing it to ‘building’ reported me, which got me blocked. I sent him a message, apologizing for possibly making him frustrated, and telling him that the ‘type’ section of the infobox determines the map marker. I then gave him an example, Harbor Grand Hotel, which also has the type and map marker of Goodneighbor. I play 76, and have seen that the marker is the same as Goodneighbor. I believe I have covered everything. I hope you listen to this and unblock my account, as I am just trying to help the wiki, which may include some misunderstandings.

Thank you, --73.45.55.81 21:03, November 24, 2018 (UTC)

the bobbleheads only respawn every so often. so if someone collected them before you then you wont find them. also i double check all the locations of the bobbleheads with the official guide book.

Re:Airplane crash[]

Yes, it's a paper note in the sort of red hotel with the double doors before crossing the bridge to Fryeja's Haus (bright yellow building). It's in one of the upstairs rooms on a dresser. Great Mara (talk) 21:42, November 25, 2018 (UTC)

Why?[]

Why are you deleting content pages? Off-road vehicle is a world object that exists in the game in multiple locations. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 09:30, November 26, 2018 (UTC)

Seems a bit hypocritical to complain about me making disambigs and moving pages before the 76 pages are made when youve deleted more than a few of those same pages. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work
The forum idea would work if anyone actually was discussing on there. (There is already a forum post regarding the junk pages, that not a single person has commented on, despite it being there for half a week.) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:44, November 26, 2018 (UTC)

Forums[]

That's a fair comment. :) The only other real one that is bugging me is this one: [2] The creatures one. There doesn't appear to be any specific policy saying not to include all the creature types on pages (Or at least not one that I could see, however I could be wrong), and having them listed would be beneficial in a lot of circumstances given that the different types do very different things. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:54, November 26, 2018 (UTC)

Feral ghouls[]

Im very confused as to why you reverted all that work. I literally based it off Feral ghoul (Fallout 4), which has dropped items included. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 04:30, November 27, 2018 (UTC)

I thought it was meant to be a sort-of section stub template. (Which, one location wouldn't remove). Sorry if I was wrong about that one. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 19:25, November 27, 2018 (UTC)

For pages[]

Um ... cant people have arrived at that page via a link, rather than a search? TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:50, November 27, 2018 (UTC)

Ok. No problem. Then I dont need to add them then, which is why I was asking. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:56, November 27, 2018 (UTC)

Dirty army fatigues[]

Merging those pages has now made them confusing. Not only are the weights incorrect now, but you now have incorrect categorization, because the dirty ones are quest items. (Which, I had indicated ON the page, because you deleted them). TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 23:42, November 27, 2018 (UTC)

FO76 achievements[]

Fallout 76 is released, we need some achievement tracks. I know Sakaratte has made an achievement track for FO76 locations but has not yet activated it due to lack of images. Should we activate it regardless and add images later or what? DisgustingWastelander (talk) 18:56, November 28, 2018 (UTC)

That may work, only worry that comes to mind is the lack of difference between each. I added one for Flatwoods, doesn't look to amazing. Have a look yourself, maybe you pictured it differently. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 23:04, November 28, 2018 (UTC)
Me too, it's the one I'm using. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 23:14, November 28, 2018 (UTC)
Enabled. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 23:18, November 28, 2018 (UTC)

Fallout 76 cultural references[]

So ... just a straight up deletion? Rather than a page warning or anything? Just ... straight to page nuking? For a page that WILL need to be created at some point anyway. That seems ... awfully petty. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 10:30, November 29, 2018 (UTC)

May I ask if I can upload and replace the image for the Marine Wetsuit for Fallout 76? The existing image for the Marine Wetsuit for Fallout 76 is from Fallout 4, the difference being that the Marine Tactical Helmet does not reflect green in Fallout 76, just grey or black. Just let me know by sending me a message :D

Marine Wetsuit[]

Ok thanks a lot for the reply. I will in future leave the images a bit wider in order to not make it look weird, same goes for the default pose. TheSnitchfather (talk) 21:25, November 30, 2018 (UTC)TheSnitchfather

Far Harbor[]

Okay. Genuine apologies about those. (I had not realised there were expansion-specific naming. TESwiki always used to just classify them with the base game-name if they were in two games.) However, I do know this now. So the future page moving (because of that redirect throttling issue) will be done properly. Ill go back and see if I can see any other mistakes I have made in that regard, too. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:28, November 30, 2018 (UTC)

I assume that this applies to weapons and everything as well, if it is specific to the DLC? (Never mind, I can see now that Commie Whacker is "Commie Whacker (Nuka-World)". TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 20:29, November 30, 2018 (UTC)

Wrong linkages[]

At least as far as the food pages that I moved overnight is concerned, those have now been fully corrected. All links to the wrong ones have been removed, and the wrong redirect pages have been put up for deletion. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:21, November 30, 2018 (UTC)

On a different note - FO76 appears to have aded "Villa" (or some other name) as map icons. Burdette manor, and 2 other buildings there all have that icon. Was hoping its something that can be pulled from game files. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:38, November 30, 2018 (UTC)
Oh. Well I've put the ones I've double checked up for deletion (I knew i'd removed the links that way) I won't look for others though if you think qe should leave them. Youre right - it doesn't really hurt anything, just trying to clean up the mess I accidentally made :) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:48, November 30, 2018 (UTC)

Icon images[]

I'll have a look next time I'm on the computer (rather than the mobile). Hopefully I can get it working. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 21:53, November 30, 2018 (UTC)

Barbed Walking Cane Mod[]

I hope I did that page right. I believe its also on other weapons as well, rather than just that one weapon. I have seen the walking can one several times, but can't remember exactly where, however I know for CERTAIN that one is up at Hornwright, as I have gone there at least three times and it's been there every time. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 16:41, December 2, 2018 (UTC)

Now that I know to do so, absolutely! (Also, needed to say about the in-the-wastes thing because I have come across that particular mod 3 or 4 times, yet never any other ones. Which is... odd. Anyways, a quirk of the game (I suspect they're random occurances) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 16:47, December 2, 2018 (UTC)
Well, NOW I do. (Also, I have just now realised that mod was "Automatron". I have legitimately always called it Automaton, since, the robots and such). TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 17:30, December 2, 2018 (UTC)

Scorched Earth[]

It's great that you found and uploaded that many unique quest icon images. I wonder, can you find the image for the event quest Scorched Earth? It has its own, unique image, not the generic thumps up vault boy image. Cadero-2

Notable loot and uncollectable items[]

Should items that can't be collected like the Charleston Herald - Bell article be placed in notable loot sections even though they can't be placed in the player character's inventory? Great Mara (talk) 18:12, December 10, 2018 (UTC)

Very minor thing[]

Would it be possible to add the details over when redirecting pages? Otherwise, it just gets missed and the work ends up getting looked up twice by accident. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 23:40, December 12, 2018 (UTC)

Oh. Um, when you redirect a page, the content on the page. Like the weight, value, known locations and things :) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 00:31, December 14, 2018 (UTC)

Blog post removal?[]

I'd like to know if you can delete blog posts. If you can, can you delete my Legendary Saturday Poll, 159th Edition? I'm trying to...erase or modify things that I've said here in my polls that I shouldn't have and that make me feel bad. I got into major trouble with my mom over that one when she found it (via fandom email I'd been lax in redirecting to my own email account, rather than the family one), and just barely have been able to mend it. I'd rather my dad not know about it and accidentally find it (somehow...because that happens if one likes it or not), because then I will be figuratively dead. I'd be lucky if the computer wasn't smashed. Could you please do this for me? Thank you.Leea (talk) 22:03, December 14, 2018 (UTC)

Thank you. Could you also delete the 161st Edition, too? There's stuff there that I can't remove, and I'll be figuratively dead if he finds that one, too. I've learned my lesson and now keep stuff to myself. =/ Thanks in advance. Leea (talk) 12:21, December 15, 2018 (UTC)

Redirects[]

Then shouldnt they be more like a disambig and link to both? (Since you don't want the "for" template on them). TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 10:39, December 16, 2018 (UTC)

Scouts' Life[]

Hi, can I ask how you determined the magazine issues on the Scouts' Life page? You have Campfire: Special Edition listed as Issue 6, but I have just picked it up in game as Issue 9 (which corresponds to its September date on the image). Thanks! --L84tea (talk) 08:45, December 17, 2018 (UTC)

I found it in Philippi Battlefield Cemetery. I don't have the video but it was definitely marked as #9 when I picked it up and it is #9 in the inventory. I held on to it if you'd like me to screenshot for verification? --L84tea (talk) 06:39, December 18, 2018 (UTC)

Could be a bug then maybe? Here's a screenshot of SL9 when inspected from my inventory. https://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:ForVerificationSL9.png Sorry the lighting is all weird, that's just what happens when I inspect from inventory. My theory is that this is the real issue 9 though, because the effects correspond with the title. I'll try and gather a few more issues to inspect. --L84tea (talk) 06:52, December 19, 2018 (UTC)

Images of the treasure maps? Yeah no worries I have a million of them, hopefully the lighting glitch doesn't make them too gross when looking from inventory otherwise I'll remember to screenshot when I pick them up next time. I'll look into it when I hop on tonight. We're set for pics of the other magazines right? --L84tea (talk) 20:38, December 19, 2018 (UTC)

Oh where they lead? Yeah no worries. I can take illustrative pics of the in game location as well if that helps (e.g. Position on the world map). I've been trying to take in game pics exactly lining up with the map picture but it's a bit of a challenge, not gonna lie.

With regards to the magazine issues, that's good I won't try to screenshot the covers then if you can get them from the files, I've been trying to update the pages with titles and effects whenever I pick them up. Haven't run into any conflicts with the existing info yet until I saw your edits so I'll just keep on keeping on on that front :) --L84tea (talk) 22:33, December 19, 2018 (UTC)

No worries. I've finished the story, so I'm quite enjoying pottering about chasing daylight and taking pics. Treasure maps[]

Do you have any thoughts about how we should organise the treasure map galleries? For example, I have been creating images like this [4] and this [5] to illustrate where the treasure maps lead to. I was thinking that it might become very messy if I just put it in with your pictures of the maps, especially for the Forest and Savage Divide with 10 maps (30 pictures total in the gallery).

I thought I'd ask whether you had an idea of what could be the best way to present it? I was thinking maybe I could use subheadings to split them up. --L84tea (talk) 05:27, December 23, 2018 (UTC)

Oh brilliant I'll do that then. Am heading home for the festive season so probably won't get much done til the new year but I'll make those all up when I get back. --L84tea (talk) 18:02, December 23, 2018 (UTC)

I just wrote them as notes describing his emotions. I was unaware that the developers wrote those comments themselves. I'm sorry I'm not adding the transcripts the way you want me to, but I don't have much of a choice. Unlike you, I am extremely incompetent at hacking.

Although I cannot promise anything, I think I will edit again soon. Other things have been keeping me busy lately. I see there is a lack of people to deal with recent edits, that is a shame. If I were to become bureaucrat, I do not think it would have great effect on my editing activity, although it may serve as motivation to get back into it. Who knows. Terminal entries[]

Always interested. Or else there's a serious possibility I'll just make the pages and lazily leave them empty. I've seen some of the terminal entries in that other program you sent me, but haven't really looked really into it. --L84tea (talk) 00:29, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

Infoboces[]

I'm just on my way home now so I'll take a look when I get in, just incase it's a missing WebKit, can you confirm what browser you have installed? (I have evything from IE to safaris and opera installed so I will be able to check. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 19:27, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

Ah, that would be my staple browser. I think I know what the issue is just from looking at your personal CSS. I'll get back to you soon. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 19:35, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
All sorted, just need to move a class set from one group to another and it corrected immediately. I got the idea from your CSS page when I was checking what was there that might be correcting it. I moved a bunch of code from a satalite wiki to our own a little while ago so we could modify the infoboxes as needed (I was having some trouble with custom CSS) and you had the original imported CSS stored. Seems I misplaced a class when I was tidying the code up. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 19:49, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
I see it now, seems to be hit and miss though, might be specific templates where it isn't playing. Got some pages where you've spotted it? I want to see if I can get as much info about where it is failing so I can clear it up properly. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 20:10, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

( I had to sleep on this one, my brain just wasn't processing anything by the end of last night. Just a little extra logic needed to ignore parameters that were empty, but theoretically existed. Heads up on Wikia Staff[]

Hey J, Just cos I know you won't see the messages I've left for the admin team in Discord.

It appears that a number of Wikia's Community Development staff was let go today. Based on his lack of staff tag, and him wiping his CC user page, This seems to include BertH.

If you're needing a staff member its probably best to use the Special:Contact rather than messaging them directly, as there's no telling who's still there. Agent c (talk) 23:39, January 9, 2019 (UTC)

I think the video guys and the content creation guys were let go in the last round of retrenchments about 3-4 months ago.
If, as I suspect, the Curse guys are taking over the community stuff, I might be motivated to get back involved (I like them), but it's not just not wanting to be an unpaid wikia employee that's keeping me away.
I'm seeing reports of people who are actively both on this wiki, and the Portugeuse wiki basically bullying people off the PT Wiki, the usual crowd that puts people off remaining is complaining about "lack of community engagement" but aren't doing thing one to even try to fix it - somehow believing electing another bureaucrat is suddenly going to magic up change...
Yet it doesn't occur to them to maybe update the news (not for lack of news - I have pushed Bethesda Press releases in the Discord editorial channel, there's also Fallout 76 Patch notes, the Canvas Bag controversy, etc) or run some other fun engagement feature. There were talks with Tag and the Reddit guys to run a cross-site fun thing, I handed it over when I stepped down, and nothing came of it.
I could maybe see myself getting motivated to help if I could see some moving in the right direction to help push it along... but I got other outlets for my selfless solo altruism now. Agent c (talk) 19:20, January 11, 2019 (UTC)
Oh, sorry didn't realise you were not aware. Wikia Inc has bought Gamepedia (and some other similar sites) from Curse, bringing their wiki community staff with them (which will probably include Tagaziel I'd think). Wikia is working out what this is going to look like long term. I imagine at some point there will have to be a conversation about bringing The Vault and Nukapedia back together.
In the background, what I'm thinking probably happened is this. Wikia doesn't make money; Amazon own(ed) Curse via Twitch, and is also an investor in Wikia. I think Amazon has pushed em together to try to cut out some losses. Agent c (talk) 19:31, January 11, 2019 (UTC)

Note from Dave[]

Where did you find that Note from Dave is in LC108 (wherever that is)?
- FDekker talk 17:46, January 10, 2019 (UTC)

I use xEdit, which also shows you which other records use the record you're looking at. This also allows you to see which cell(s), containers, and quests reference a note. It does exactly what the Show usages button does in the Creation Kit.

About note from Dave: It is the only thing in the entire game that has LC108 in its editor ID, and xEdit shows that there are no references to it all, not even by a test cell or by the containers that should contain all notes, so that makes me pretty sure it's been cut from the game.
- FDekker talk 18:14, January 10, 2019 (UTC)
FO76 xedit referencedby 1
FO76 xedit referencedby 2
The first screenshot shows where to click to see the list of references, and the second screenshot shows that list. In this case, you can see that the quest Free Roaming Gutsy has a reference to the note. The other four usages are from dialogue, probably because those lines are disabled until you have the note in your inventory or something. You can't click on the reference to look at the quest, but if you enter the base ID (which I underlined with red) in the top-left input (which has a green background in my screenshots) you will jump to the quest when you press Enter.
- FDekker talk 18:55, January 10, 2019 (UTC)
Updating to v4.0.1 might make a difference. Do you not see the tab for any item at all? And when you look at the Messages tab (next to where the Referenced by tab is supposed to be) do you see the message "Background Loader: Finished"? If not, xEdit is probably still busy discovering what references what.

RE: Bobbleheads[]

- FDekker talk 17:59, January 16, 2019 (UTC)

- FDekker talk 22:01, January 21, 2019 (UTC)

Gefixt!
- FDekker talk 22:10, January 21, 2019 (UTC)
- FDekker talk 22:25, January 21, 2019 (UTC)
- FDekker talk 22:45, January 21, 2019 (UTC)

- FDekker talk 23:31, January 21, 2019 (UTC)

- FDekker talk 23:50, January 21, 2019 (UTC)

It unlocks the [[Harpers Ferry terminal entries#Armory access|armory access]] terminal entry at [[Harpers Ferry]]."?
- FDekker talk 22:21, January 22, 2019 (UTC)

- FDekker talk 22:27, January 22, 2019 (UTC)

Transcript update[]

ManRough of WomanOld.
- FDekker talk 22:31, January 23, 2019 (UTC)

Jason Zimmerman[]

Hey Hey, so you know Jason Zimmerman from the original Fallout? I've just realized that I've never seen him referred to as Jason in game, and I've only seen him referred to as Josh by the Blades leader, Razor. Maybe Josh is his correct name. Jefferson Grey[]

There is no source that I can find for the name Jefferson outside of IMDB, which anyone could have edited to the page. Where is the source for Jefferson? Great Mara (talk) 23:57, January 26, 2019 (UTC)

Besides IMDB, that character's name was also provided by the user User:Chip_Joslin when editing his own voice actor page [6], so I'm inclined to believe him as an authority on the roles that he played. -- Bovinejeff (talk) 00:05, January 27, 2019 (UTC)
Just for extra measure, I got Chip Joslin to re-confirm via Twitter that character's name based on the surviving documentation he received at the time of voiceover recording.[7] -- Bovinejeff (talk) 04:59, January 28, 2019 (UTC)

RE: Curse of the Wendigo[]

- FDekker talk 16:47, January 27, 2019 (UTC)

I created a "Power Armor Locations" page with the intent of merging all information there and putting links on the other pages. Another editor deleted the page. I got that it was redundant and merged all locations onto the power armor chassis page, since it had more locations that any of the others. We now have over 60 of the possible 90 or so locations documented, most with images of the power armor. I googled "power armor locations fallout 76." https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Power_armor_chassis was not in the 11 google pages that were returned (T-60 was the only fandom.com page returned and it was on page 5.) A page that doesn't come up in a google search is useless. I propose to create a "Power Armor Locations" page in order to raise it's google ranking and link all others to it. Can I do that without someone again deleting it? Are there other actions to get more google recognition? Thanks. Lakewalker (talk) 06:10, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

Armor mods[]

Hi,

I understand why you undid my changes to the Resin and Greg pages: I placed the "plans for armor mods" entry in the wrong location. However, I've only seen these two sell plans for power armor mods, not plans for power torso, legs, etc. Should that be clarified in the "services" field? Otherwise, folks will go there multiple times before they realize that these two only sell power armor mod plans. Archer

Thunder Mountain substation TM-02[]

Hiya! If you're ever in the process of updating the big world map you've been uploading on all the FO76 location image pages, your location for Thunder Mountain substation TM-02 is a little bit off so might be worth updating it. Checked the game map after seeing someone delete your image and add a description and their description is more accurate than the image was. Presumably you have it unlocked on your game map already, but in case not I've screencapped it from my game here - [8]. --L84tea Tea kettle 23:33, February 2, 2019 (UTC)

Paint job[]

I'm confused. I added to Black Mountain Ordinance TNT Dome #3 notable loot:

You deleted them.

I made 40 visits to the dome, found the paint job & outfits twice because others got there ahead of me 19 out of 20 times. Other players see these these valuable collectables. The T-51 paint is the only reason that I would wear T-51 & this appears to be the only location in the game for it.

If they don't go in notable loot, where do they go? Lakewalker (talk) 16:52, February 6, 2019 (UTC)

Power armor locations[]

I am sending this to the four highest ranking members that have been involved with my edits. I have finished my work on Fallout 76 power armor locations. We have 81 confirmed locations with images. I lobbied for this to be on a separate page named "Power armor locations (Fallout 76)" so that a google search for "Fallout 76 power armor locations" would find it but I was overruled. There are two redirects: "Power armor locations (Fallout 76)" and "Fallout 76 power armor locations" which have been in place for at least a couple of weeks. I again checked Google, the only fallout.fandom.com in the list is the T-60 page and it's on page 4. Also the chassis page has a "tail wagging the dog" look with locations being 85% of the page. I again submit that if we want players to find our locations page, it should be stand-alone. If you still disagree, so be it. I did what I could. I just hate to see players have to depend on Rock,Paper,Shotgun that lists 55 locations, 4 of which are wrong and another 3 are dead BOS soldiers with non-retrievable armor, GamesRadar that lists 20, IGN that lists 11, PcGamer that lists 7, and Gamespot that lists 4 of the easiest locations. At least when they get to Gamepedia, there is a list that rivals ours. I'm moving on to other projects, it's been a pleasure working with you. Thanks. Lakewalker (talk) 22:40, February 12, 2019 (UTC)

Lakewalker does have a point though. Even if you Google "fallout 76 power armor locations site:fandom.com" (note the fandom.com rather than the wikia.com—the index is relatively fresh), the correct page is only the third one in the list. Without the Fandom filter it's not even on the first three(!) pages. What would be the main reason(s) against creating a standalone "Fallout 76 power armor locations" page?

Fissure site zeta[]

Hi, I've been cleaning up the fissure site page and adding images. I have added images for all but Zeta. It is supposed to be south of Drop site V9 but I've been all through that area and only find Fissure site Prime SSE of the drop site flanked by two small round fissures. I was unable to find another fissure site compass marker even traveling much farther south. Additionally, there is an unmarked active site SE of Firebase LT that spawns scorchbeasts. It is the only active fissure site I have found that does not show up on the map or compass. Is it possible that this is Zeta? Or is it possible that Zeta is south of Drop site V9 and also does not show up on map & compass? In Googling for Fissure site Zeta, Fandom has the only Fallout 76 reference. But I did find that the pain that it's giving me is similar to it's real life counterpart, the Zeta Human Rectum Fissure Lesion! Thanks. Lakewalker (talk) 01:34, February 19, 2019 (UTC) I did find one website that refers to fissure site Prime as Zeta: http://incendar.com/fallout76_locations_poi.php 040B92 LocCranberryFissureSiteZetaLocation Fissure Site Prime - That could explain why there is no listing for Fissure site Prime in the game editor. Power armor pages[]

Thanks, for my next project, I would like to address power armor. There is a full listing in Clothing and armor (Fallout 76) which is redundant to Power Armor (Fallout 76). The armor and clothing page is way to large.

  • I propose to replace the clothing and armor section with a link to Power armor (Fallout 76) and also link all of the individual power armor pages to Power armor (Fallout 76) (most currently link to clothing and armor).
  • I then propose to remove helmet/torso/arm/leg stats from Power armor (Fallout 76) and in their place give total set stats for all levels and all types (18 in total), grouped by level so that players can easily evaluate the power armor choices available to them at their current level.
  • I would then like to move Power armor locations from the chassis page to Power armor (Fallout 76) and clean up all of the links for that.

Thanks, Lakewalker (talk) 17:30, February 19, 2019 (UTC)

I have created a Power armor (Fallout 76) page in my sandbox as I envision it. It has general info and allows users to easily compare the attributes of the various armors at different levels. Having general information on the clothing and armor page and on the power armor page is redundant. Since the information is not shared between the pages, there can be inconsistencies and info on one that is missing on the other. In building the page, I found 3 armors that don't have specs for all pieces at all levels: T-45 is missing one piece at level 35, I'll look for it. X-01 has no info reported on level 40, very few players build this. I'll check my components and see if I want to invest in it. T-51 at level 40 is just plain scarce. I have found two full sets of all 11 other spawning suits without ever seeing one piece of this. Now past level 70 it's even harder to find. The resistances are in the editor. I've delved into it but haven't found a search tool, I have to stumble around. It will also be nice when someone decodes how to access the curve tables that are the key to learning crafting and repair requirements without having to collect the armors. Thanks, Lakewalker (talk) 02:39, February 21, 2019 (UTC)

Removal of the Moderator role[]

I propose we remove the Moderator role. It is not a role that can be gained through vote, it is simply what we call chat moderators that are also patrollers. For clarification, I am not proposing we remove Chat mod, Discussions mod or Content mod, simply the moderator role being split to patroller and chat moderator. What do you think? Fallout_Wiki:Administrators_and_moderators DisgustingWastelander (talk) 23:01, February 20, 2019 (UTC)

Could you link that forum? I really don't see the point of it, seems like something that would create confusion rather than anything, especially considering we have three other positions named moderator. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 17:03, February 21, 2019 (UTC)
Surely the forum still exists. I don't quite remember what Richie said, I'll have to ask him again. I don't like using mail, Discord would be a lot more efficient I think. For now talk pages is fine though. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 17:18, February 21, 2019 (UTC)

Interwiki role[]

As interwiki patroller is pretty much a role on this wiki now, I think we should add it to the user rights requests section here. I propose:

The minimum requirements for becoming an interwiki user are:

  • You've continuously added interwiki links for at least one month.
  • Your edits are never or rarely something else than adding interwiki links.

I also suppose it should be added to the NukaStaff template.

What do you think? --DisgustingWastelander (talk) 22:26, March 12, 2019 (UTC)

Yes, this role is like patroller, it's only given by bureaucrats, not given through request. This is why I think one month is just fine. One month is minimum, but if a bureaucrat thinks more time is needed for that specific users, then they will tell them that. Mostly, these rights are given without the users even asking for them anyway. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 18:51, March 13, 2019 (UTC)

Hi J long time no see,

There appears to have been a bug with NomadMC's name change. The comments for his blog have become detached when everything was moved and are now orphaned in the background. Would you be able to grant him Content Moderator so he can fix this, or can someone do it for him (studies mean I don't have time at present or I'd sit here all night). all that needs to happen is the blog is moved back to NomadMC to reconnect the comments and then blog is moved back to NomadicNom. Inquiry[]

Hello, Jspoel.

I hope you are well and healthy. I write to you in order to ask something as the title suggests. Why does the position of Bureaucrat have no requirements?

Kind regards, Jgrsoto Coat of arms of Puerto Rico 01:03, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

To further clarify this point, Bureaucrat has not always been a position which was attainable via application. Ausir hand picked his BC's during the Vault Era, rather than having open applications (I.E. why there were several inactive BCs by the time JS took over the role) and thus didn't have an open requirement. It wasn't really until later that we had need for additional BCs with Gunny and Chad, and Clyde. We never codified the requirements, but it was always assumed that one had to be an admin with substantial community and editing experience to apply. ---bleep196- (talk) 23:31, March 25, 2019 (UTC)
perhaps it doesn’t have to be an admin seeing as how social platforms have become such a large part of the wiki. President Autumn User image president autumn signature 23:52, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

That, and I'm totally over the whole Fallout 76 disaster along with what I personally view as greed with Fandom taking over every other wiki in sight and still refusing to listen to we, the people. However, that's not the main reason, real life is as I stated above. Basically, between the combo of all those things, I'm suffering a case of burn-out.

That said, I leave it up to you as to how to handle my status. I did enjoy editing and moderating on here, but I haven't had time to do anything in ages and I kind of think it's unfair to the rest of you who are still diligently editing on here every day when I'm not. I would like to resume eventually, but it's very likely going to be at least another 4-6 months before I can finish up this RL job contract I'm on. I trust your judgement and I won't argue with whatever you think is best. StormRider71 (talk) 23:46, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

  • Ok J. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Truthfully, I would like to stay on as CM, but I wanted to try and do what was fair for everybody. If you see it as a non issue, I'm fine with that. I'm sure I'll be fine once I get this workload off me, but I will at least make an effort to do something on here, even if it's only a couple edits a week for the time being. FO76 Ammunition[]

What's the pipe (|) in the category tag for? Genuinely curious. --L84tea Tea kettleWould you like a cup of tea? 12:09, March 30, 2019 (UTC)

Ohhhh, got it. TIL. :) L84tea Tea kettleWould you like a cup of tea? 12:42, March 30, 2019 (UTC)

Talk[]

Could you hop onto Discord whenever you are available? There are a range of things you, Richie and I should discuss.

Journalist[]

Hey Jspoel, I was contacted by a man through the wiki's discord server. He says he's getting into game journalism and, while he hasn't used the wiki much, he wanted to write an article about wiki editing and wanted to talk to people from Nukapedia about it. After some talk, I suggested he talk to the bureaucrats, so he asked me to drop you a message. I'm not sure how you guys can get in contact though considering he does not have a wiki account, but just wanted to let you know in case you were interested. AMS testing site[]

Funny enough, I got a picture of it, but I'm still playing at the moment :p I'll upload it once I take a break. AllYourFavorites! (talk) 21:08, April 5, 2019 (UTC)

RE: Wild Appalachia holodisks[]

Automated Surface to Air Missile acronym[]

When I created the page https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Automated_surface_to_air_missile, I used the acronym ASAM to avoid having to use a five word name repeatedly. I was recently in Fort Defiance. Near the entrance, there is a note on the bulletin board labeled "Final Stand." In that note they are referred to as "AAAs", presumably for Automated Anti-Aircraft. Should I change the acronym on the main page and other pages where I have used it? Thanks. --Lakewalker (talk) 04:25, April 7, 2019 (UTC)

Good call on not changing the acronym. I did a Surface to Air event last night. The onscreen message at the beginning said to defend the ASAM's. --Lakewalker (talk) 16:09, April 10, 2019 (UTC)

Plans and recipes[]

Hiya. I was having a chat with Prof. Sugarcube on Discord about the Fallout 76 plans page particularly about how to deal with how most plans can drop from quests because they're just in the generic loot pool that gets randomly drawn from. While we can note "XYZ may drop as a quest reward" on the individual plan pages, it's probably not too user-friendly to have to list that on the overview page for like 80% of the plans. To tackle this we were thinking of adding an extra Y/N column to the page (and possibly the recipes page as well) to mark which ones are possible random drops from quests and which are fixed/specific-quest/vendor-only.

So the table would look something like

Name Weight Value Random drop from quests? Related quest/location Base ID
Gun Plan: .44 0.25 0 Yes Sold by vendor bot Chad, vendor bot Greg, vendor bot Resin, vendor bot Mack, vendor bot Bob, vendor bot Responder (Lewisburg station, Charleston station, Grafton station, Morgantown station, Welch station), and vendor bot Raider (Sutton station, Pleasant Valley station, Sunnytop station, R&G station). ????????

Thoughts? --L84tea Tea kettleWould you like a cup of tea? 02:57, April 9, 2019 (UTC)

Hairstyle Images[]

Hey Js, hoping your holding up well. Got a peculiar question for you, cause I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Hairstyles in the Atomic shop appear to be an independent item now, and I have no idea how to categorize them. Figured I'd ask you and see if you have any ideas? https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/File:FO76_Atomic_Shop_-_Hornet_nest_hairstyle.png ---bleep196- (talk) 15:51, April 11, 2019 (UTC)

Whoop, thanks for the heads up. I'll back track and fix the others. ---bleep196- (talk) 16:01, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah I realized that as soon as I started to back track, that's a my bad. ---bleep196- (talk) 16:07, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
Also this is on another topic, but I was looking through the backend and at the different permissions of the user rights groups, and we used to be able to look at wiki statistics from the very beginning when it was made until now; back in 2016. At some point those statistics became inaccessible to us, I'm not sure why, but what I discovered is that it appears that Fandom removed access to that information. Only Fandom Staff, and Fandom Helpers now have access to the performance statistics. We can see the last week or so of activity, but beyond that we don't have any access. ---bleep196- (talk) 16:32, April 11, 2019 (UTC)

RE: Wild Appalachia holodisks (2)[]

Confession note[]

Is there another location of the confession note near the Thomas farm? In-game, the last part of that quest leads you to the hunting cabin near Kerwood Mine and the note is in there, too. AllYourFavorites! (talk) 13:32, April 12, 2019 (UTC)

Nitpicking[]

I'd be happy too, thought what I was doing was the standard for some reason. It's honestly much easier to add it below licensing. ---bleep196- (talk) 14:02, April 12, 2019 (UTC)
