Fallout 76 proganist[]

Ik heb net het resultaat van de naam van de Fallout 76 proganist vermeld op het forum. Zie jij mogelijkheden om het met een bot aan te passen? Dus alles waar [[Resident (Vault 76)|Resident]] staat wordt vervangen door [[Vault Dweller (Fallout 76)|Vault Dweller]]. Dat zou zonder problemen moeten kunnen. Er zullen nog links handmatig aangepast moeten worden, maar dat komt later wel. (bv. [[Resident (Vault 76)|a man]]).

Call to Action[]

There have been quite a few sweeping changes to the wiki lately, and now that the Unified Community Platform has come to fruition here, it's more important than ever for our leadership to get together and inspire innovative changes for the next generation of wiki editors/readers.

As someone who is somewhat inactive myself, I understand how life gets in the way, and I'll fully understand if many of you are unable to commit, but I'd still like to try my best to appeal to you all in getting involved in a few of our currently active projects; especially so since rights-users participating in our discussions/votes are at an all-time low, and many internal decisions are having to be made between a select few users, which is bad for building consensus on important matters.

As such, I would like to ask for you all to look into two of our most important projects right now, as it would mean a lot to me and the wiki if as many people as possible got directly involved in helping shape our future:

1. The Vault Academy is a program for the training and acclimation of new and even veteran users, training them on how to get involved in the various facets of the wiki, as well as helping them build bonds with their fellow users. The program has kicked off in a big way, and we are in desperate need of more rights-users to sign on as mentors, as we're having to share multiple mentees between each mentor. If you're looking to leave your mark on the wiki, then signing onto TVA program will be your way of doing so.
2. As a minor update, we now have a new plagiarism point of contact. Should you suspect plagiarized content is at play, please get into point with the user FDekker who will be the initial handler of all such cases going forward.
3. We have an upcoming meeting of the minds coming up on the 20th of this month, and we need people to come forth and pitch their ideas for adapting to the recent UCP changes, and to possibly adopt some of the ideas that our new datamining friends have been pitching to us.

CSS changes[]

Zeg nog bedankt voor de veranderingen in de CSS. Ziet er goed uit, zeg maar een nieuwere, frisse uitstraling. Paar dingetjes, de header in the infobox is zwart over donkergroen, zou iets meer contrast kunnen. Nu ik mijn css geblanked heb is het opgelost maar zie ik meer verschillen. Ik mis toch wel de originele kleuren van de infobox, die heeft nu 1 kleur en is gelijk aan de content. Ben er nog niet weg van. Kun je de oorspronkelijke kleuren weer terugbrengen en ik denk zelfs een witte kleur voor de content zoals het was. Scribe Howard heeft me gevraagd zijn dialoog format template te gebruiken. Heb gezegd dat als ik alle dialoog dan handmatig dan met die parameters moeten combineren, ik het niet zie zitten. Zie jij mogelijkheden om de dialoog om te bouwen naar zijn systeem? Trouwens, ik mis nog dialoog van de Vault Dweller zelf, en het zou ook mooi zijn als de Editor ID vervangen wordt door de Scene. "New"(-ish) default colors for the website[]

Hiya Dekker, It's been a while since we've "spoken" ( https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/User_talk:75.191.211.180). Last time I came to the wiki, the old style colors and layout were still being used. Question on the colors ... is there any way for me to change the default that is being used whenever I am logged in ? I am unable to read the text on almost everything that has a "beige" background, especially in tables, because it's white text on an almost white background. For example, Fallout: New Vegas armor and clothing, I can not read the text for the top 3 items - Ambassador Crocker's suit, Arcade's lab coat, and Benny's suit, but can read the ones on the dark background right under that. Heck, even when I'm in visual editor instead of source editor, I can't see the tools across the top (like bold italic etc). I went into preferences and tried changing the appearance theme Light, Dark, or Defer to Wiki Preset, and that didn't work. Findabair told me back in June that you were working on settings getting for the change, so hopefully you can help on this question ? Will you please check (i.e. fix : ) my work ... .357 Magnum revolver long barrel. I don't think I did it correctly. I'll study the changes you make when you fix it for me. I'm sure you're already looking into this, but can the colors on the visual editor also be fixed ? Yep, probably so. I was switching back & forth from visual to source to look at that edit, I probably clicked something by accident. Depending on what I'm editing, I switch whether I edit in source mode or visual. One more question while I have you if you don't mind - when you use the magnifying glass search function in the upper right of the wiki, it gives you suggested results if you type in an existing page. What would I do to make it so I could type Aid and it would bring up/link me to the consumable page ? - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 14:40, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the quick replies. Some background: that search thing has always been a personal pet peeve of mine ... the first time I ever came to the wiki I was trying to get info on the Aid tab in the pipboy items menu. I searched for "Aid" and it pulled up over 3100(!) results, so I never found what I was looking for. I didn't think to do a search for Consumables, as I don't think it is ever mentioned in the game using that word?? I might reach out to a couple other folks at some point to see if anyone knows a work-around. I never even noticed there was an Aid page that auto-redirects to First Aid, haha. Maybe there's a way to make a disambig Aid page with links to both First Aid and Consumables or something like that or an "Aid Menu" page that auto-redirects?? As long as it pulls up by typing aid without having to type the whole thing 'aid menu'. I'm not sure how the background engine of the wiki works on stuff like that. Discussions Abuse Filter[]

Hey, not sure if you're still around, but Appalachian said you might know how to set up an Abuse Filter for Discussions. I'm trying to set up a simple filter to disallow certain keywords that can maybe be modified as more become apparent. Like, for instance, someone the other day replied "kys" ("kill yourself") to one of the users posting their fanon in another wiki's discussions section, so I wanted to start with that. The first rule is
"IF post text contains "\bkys\b|\bKYS\b"
THEN perform actions with the action set to prevent user from performing the action.

But I'm not sure the actual strings of what to disallow in posts is set up right. Would you know more? Great Mara (talk) 22:51, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

A sorta milestone. This message to you is my 500th edit as a registered user (not edits from all my anon edit IP's + the edits as registered). Also, I am so embarrassed that I clearly cannot do basic arithmetic. Ummmm, Jan 3 2018 to Jan 4 2024 is SIX years and one day haha. It was just after New Years so my mind still thought it was 2023? But not only that, I was looking at the talk page not the edit page, I had actually made one edit on Dec 4 2017 and then the edits on Jan 3 when we had our little talk. Re: Capitalisation[]

Yeah, the capitalization rules are kind of a case-by-case thing, but my interpretation of these specific locations would be that the three of them form a specific naming pattern (Research Site X), as part of a series, rather than being a one-off random station, and thus should be capitalized. Also, I went ahead and submitted a report about that user's name, definitely not acceptable. LaymansReign (talk) 20:12, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
