Oh! Hi, everyone. This is a strange character select screen. My name is Jieyang Low. It’s pronounced “Jay-Young”. As of September, I’m the new Senior Community Manager, Gaming at Fandom! I figured that I should stop lurking on random wikis for hours on end for once, you know?
Origin Story[]
I wish I could say my story starts with being bitten by a radioactive spider or being struck by lightning while doused in mysterious plot chemicals. Actually, I don’t- all that would be really bad in real life. Anyway, I moved to the United States about 3 years ago from Malaysia and now live in Washington State.
It’s been… a very interesting three years to say the least, between moving across the world to an entirely different country and, you know, *gestures at world*. Luckily, I had my hobbies to keep my mind off things when they got rough: gaming, comic books and cooking.
What I’ll Be Doing At Fandom.[]
So… I love gaming (which is a good start for someone in my position, I suppose). Not just playing games, but the whole process- the business of how they are developed, the industry trends, and the list goes on and on. I’m grateful that passion has led to me having a good number of years working professionally in the gaming industry.
I now work on the Community Experience team and want to bring my passion and knowledge of gaming to the table. Connecting with and empowering fellow passionate gamers across all the amazing gaming wikis on Fandom is the least I can do for all you lovely people. I’d like to think we’re all going to be grouping up and working together to grow our wikis into S-tier legendary items.
In addition to crafting a strong voice for our gaming communities, I also hope to create more opportunities for them, whether it’s to connect with different beloved gaming studios or even IRL events, it is very important to me that we all have a chance to enjoy our love of gaming as one.
My Favorite Fandoms![]
Prey (2017) is my favorite game of all-time and I am extremely sad that there might not be a sequel. You’re telling me that I get to play as an Asian dude in a sci-fi immersive sim made by Arkane Studios and one game is all I get? COME ON! I am sad. I am very, very sad.
Anyway, now that that’s out of the way (I am okay now), I obviously have a lovely bunch of gaming fandoms I love being a part of. From your prestigious AAA titles to your rogue-like indie darlings, I bounce around pretty actively, taking it all in. Except fighting games. It’s not that they are bad games. I am the one that is bad at them. I am so bad. Please send help.
When not gaming, I spend an equal amount of time reading comic books as I do researching them on their wikis. I love Marvel and DC, but it’s sometimes hard to keep track of so many branching stories. But with the help of wikis, they can be even more enjoyable sometimes.

Look, just because there are single player games doesn’t mean you have to play them alone. I mean, technically you do but there’s also the aspect of sharing that particular gaming experience with others. Whether you’re a streamer, cosplayer or wiki editor, we all have our own ways of expressing our absolute passion for the games we love.
And I think that is absolutely beautiful. I’m happy to be here and am looking forward to connecting with all of you. Let’s level up together. Maybe we’ll find some loot along the way.
