R.E. Fallout 76 Create Page Template[]

Could this be updated please? It uses the Fallout 4 template, and only an Admin can fix it :) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 00:48, November 12, 2018 (UTC)

Hi, can you please tell me why did you revert edit for Lewisburg station where I added what type of workbench is there ? I want to know if wasting my time adding usefull information on this wiki will be just reverted by you, if so I will make these notes for myself in word localy so I can remmeber and stop using this wiki.--Mikiti (talk) 10:32, November 15, 2018 (UTC)

Ok so you are one of the people who thinks or believes that every person that comes to this wiki spends years studying it and learning every possible "style" and "rule" in the book, hencefort wiki loses its purpose of public place where people can help other people and becomes new regime of control group people like you who enforce others to bend to their rule. Than when a new editor comes who doesnt necessarily see problem when the text says "Armor Workbench (Fallout76)" he is completely censored and forced to bend to the will of admins. Your atempt of trying to lecture me on how I should behave is very lordly from you your highness. Me as a lowly peasant shall hancefort bend to your will and obey your every whim is what you think I ll do but I wont since I dont need to feed the ego of internet trolls who like the whiff of power. I bid you farewell good day sir. PS: This is not the first fascist wiki I had my dealings with. So dont kid yourself that you are the only one. PSS: Friendly advice - Next time when you dont want to piss off other people dont just revert their changes but comment it aswell, if you did that it wouldnt piss me off so much as it did. --Mikiti (talk) 11:29, November 15, 2018 (UTC)

FO76 achievements track[]

I'm looking to set up the achievements tracks for the locations, but it seems we are still short on images (not surprising as release was only a couple of days away). Would you be able to grab a few shots the locations track when you play next? I'll try and get on tonight, but it might be a day or two before I get to play still. Nuclear Launch Bug[]

Isnt it verified though? Theres video of it happening. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 00:33, November 19, 2018 (UTC)

That makes sense. (I agree its unlikely - particularly since its been reported a few times in varuous gaming journalism websites now TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 05:35, November 19, 2018 (UTC)

Different Question[]

Shouldn't Fallout 76 be promoted in the navigation ribbon? It's the most recent game. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 08:19, November 19, 2018 (UTC)

I tried to add some screenshots of the location of the Tinker's workbench in Willard corporate housing and you reverted it. Is there a better place for those screenshots? KillPlow (talk) 14:40, November 20, 2018 (UTC)

I noticed your removing the dead icon from the creature item drops list on items that would be weapons for said creatures. User:Jspoelstra keeps re-adding them. Happy to do this either way but if I get some direction I can do it the first time when I edit these pages. Thanks. --Captnopants (talk) 05:45, November 28, 2018 (UTC)

A couple weeks ago I created a "Power Armor Locations (Fallout 76)" page with the intent of merging all information there and putting links on the other pages. You deleted the page. I got that it was redundant and merged all locations onto the power armor chassis page, since it had more locations that any of the others. We now have over 60 of the possible 90 or so locations verified & documented, most with images of the power armor.

I googled for "power armor locations fallout 76." https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Power_armor_chassis was not in the 11 google pages that were returned (T-60 was the only fandom.com page returned and it was on page 5.) A page that doesn't come up in a google search is useless. I intend to recreate the "Power Armor Locations (fallout 76)" page in order to raise it's google ranking and link all others to it. Can I do that without you again deleting it? Are there other actions to get more google recognition? Thanks. Lakewalker (talk) 18:59, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

I thought about your comment that locations aren't listed separately for other games then googled for "Power armor locations Fallout 4." The fandom.com page is listed #12 which puts it on page two. Almost all of the page one entries are dedicated location pages. Googling for "Power armor Fallout 4" returns the fandom.com page as #1. When I google for other searches, like "X01 Fallout 76" or "Excavator Fallout 76" the fandom.com page is near the top. So, yes you should have a separate page for locations in other games if you want traffic to the sites. Lakewalker (talk) 22:01, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

Power Armor Locations[]

I'm OK with a redirect if it gets google searches there. It would be good to direct to the Location section on the Chassis page. Is there an existing one that I could use as a template? Thanks Lakewalker (talk) 01:08, February 1, 2019 (UTC)

I got a redirect page in place. It requires the user to click on the redirect; it would be nice if it was automatic. Let's see if Google picks up on this new page. Thanks Lakewalker (talk) 01:26, February 1, 2019 (UTC)

I am sending this to the four highest ranking members that have been involved with my edits. I have finished my work on Fallout 76 power armor locations. We have 81 confirmed locations with images. I lobbied for this to be on a separate page named "Power armor locations (Fallout 76)" so that a google search for "Fallout 76 power armor locations" would find it but I was overruled. There are two redirects: "Power armor locations (Fallout 76)" and "Fallout 76 power armor locations" which have been in place for at least a couple of weeks. I again checked Google, the only fallout.fandom.com in the list is the T-60 page and it's on page 4. Also the chassis page has a "tail wagging the dog" look with locations being 85% of the page. I again submit that if we want players to find our locations page, it should be stand-alone. If you still disagree, so be it. I did what I could. I just hate to see players have to depend on Rock,Paper,Shotgun that lists 55 locations, 4 of which are wrong and another 3 are dead BOS soldiers with non-retrievable armor, GamesRadar that lists 20, IGN that lists 11, PcGamer that lists 7, and Gamespot that lists 4 of the easiest locations. At least when they get to Gamepedia, there is a list that rivals ours. I'm moving on to other projects, it's been a pleasure working with you. Thanks. Lakewalker (talk) 22:41, February 12, 2019 (UTC)

Console commands[]

I read your comment on the bulk screws. Are you able to use console commands in Fallout 76? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:47, February 22, 2019 (UTC)

Fallout 76 maps[]

I wanted a map with all location icons. I knew that I didn't have tbe ability to pull this from the game files so I used the brute force method. I visited all sites, made myself wanted to remove other player markers, and made 10 4k screen shots of the map, server hopping to avoid event markers. I then merged them into one 6554x6552 pixel map which is clear down to the pixel level. I would like to add place names. I saw that you had created the Fallout 76 map page using vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/c/c2/West_Virginia_map.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20181113182042. That map has location names but no icons. Do you know if the location names exist anywhere as a separate image or layer? Thanks. --Lakewalker (talk) 17:14, April 23, 2019 (UTC)

Fallout 76 Map[]

Thanks for responding. I saw that you had initiated the map page in Fandom so thought you might know where the text came from. Jspoel said that he added the text. I'll see if I can find out if there is a more automated way that typing it all in. Thanks. --Lakewalker (talk) 05:05, April 24, 2019 (UTC)

Lil' Ginger Snuggles[]

Hi! This will be going back into the memory bank a bit, but can you remember why you renamed Lil'ginger Snuggles to not have the space and capital 'G'? (i.e. Lil' Ginger Snuggles) I'm currently looking at gamefiles and appears that there is a space in there - not sure, maybe it was quietly changed during a patch? Mostly I just don't wanna rename something that was already renamed :) --L84tea Tea kettleWould you like a cup of tea? 07:39, April 29, 2019 (UTC)

Promo[]

Hi. Questions about FO1 and FO2. And why did the editors avoid the promo videos and not allow them into the pages? I have a suspicion that this is the very first promo, but I can’t find proofs. Can someone help? Any comments from the developers?--ExplorerSmaily (talk) 09:39, June 3, 2019 (UTC)

Call to Action[]

There have been quite a few sweeping changes to the wiki lately, and now that the Unified Community Platform has come to fruition here, it's more important than ever for our leadership to get together and inspire innovative changes for the next generation of wiki editors/readers.

As someone who is somewhat inactive myself, I understand how life gets in the way, and I'll fully understand if many of you are unable to commit, but I'd still like to try my best to appeal to you all in getting involved in a few of our currently active projects; especially so since rights-users participating in our discussions/votes are at an all-time low, and many internal decisions are having to be made between a select few users, which is bad for building consensus on important matters.

As such, I would like to ask for you all to look into two of our most important projects right now, as it would mean a lot to me and the wiki if as many people as possible got directly involved in helping shape our future:

  1. The Vault Academy is a program for the training and acclimation of new and even veteran users, training them on how to get involved in the various facets of the wiki, as well as helping them build bonds with their fellow users. The program has kicked off in a big way, and we are in desperate need of more rights-users to sign on as mentors, as we're having to share multiple mentees between each mentor. If you're looking to leave your mark on the wiki, then signing onto TVA program will be your way of doing so.
  2. As a minor update, we now have a new plagiarism point of contact. Should you suspect plagiarized content is at play, please get into point with the user FDekker who will be the initial handler of all such cases going forward.
  3. We have an upcoming meeting of the minds coming up on the 20th of this month, and we need people to come forth and pitch their ideas for adapting to the recent UCP changes, and to possibly adopt some of the ideas that our new datamining friends have been pitching to us.

Thanks for your consideration, and I do hope to hear back from you all! Even if it is just some of you dropping by to check the place out and say a quick hello. 寧靜 Fox 14:12, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Greetings![]

Hi there, my name is Kate. I hope you don't mind, but I saw your note on Leon's page about how you learned js, css, mediawiki and similar functions recently. Would you perhaps be willing to teach me? I promise that I will be a fast learner, or will try my best to be. Either way is ok, no pressure! :) -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 11:07, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks so much! I guess I can say I like to edit. A lot! Haha. I have a good foundation of knowledge already, maybe to focus on mediawiki would be good for me first. Anytime at all, and no rush of course. Thanks again for the boost in confidence! -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 05:28, 29 November 2020 (UTC)
Alright, I have been working with the tips you gave me and have a handle on understanding variables, as well as #if: and #switch: statements. I have watched how the Fallout 76 dataminers use them in their infoboxes as well as creeped on some templates. I wanted to say thank you for helping me with those, and feel free to throw any other knowledge my way anytime (no no obligation of course!) Bye bye for now :) --kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 22:01, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Hooray![]

Hello! How are you? I am proud to say I have a pretty good grasp on my last lesson now. I tried the suggestions and had a lot of fun writing things, reversing them, testing it out, and testing it out again! I also just like the thought of using an explode function simply because of its name. Sounds dynamic! I am going to go ahead and see about getting the extension here, being a big fan of slimming down syntax in any way I can. If you can think of some more things to explain, I am very willing to learn. But no pressure or rush. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach me!! -Kate (kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 01:12, 23 February 2021 (UTC))

Webp[]

I saw your edit summary about webp, which gave me a chuckle. Yes, it's a supported format, but you can use whichever you prefer. Most use PNG. I believe images are delivered to the client in webp regardless, but I could be wrong.
