batching edits[]

Yeah sorry about that I've been told this before, still struggling but trying to avoid it as much as possible.--Branebriar1930 (talk) 11:30, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Hornwright[]

Surprised that location didn't exist already - thanks for creating it and moving the content forward. Is there a reason why the quest is still mentioned on the article though? I don't see anything tying that quest specifically to the air purifier site, so I'm under the impression it's not notable. 寧靜 Fox 17:47, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Cool - I figured there was an explanation. I just haven't played enough of 76 to remember those locations all too well, so figured I'd ask first. 寧靜 Fox 22:55, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Crafting components[]

Yes, I'd say split the crafting component pages. They've become too large, and the infobox is getting too full having to deal with two games. (The Lead (Fallout 4) already has been done this way). I've even been thinking of splitting the junk items pages to Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. They're also large enough to be separate. This would be a lot more work though and certainly needs to be discussed in the merger workspace. Can you drop it there? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:43, February 16, 2020 (UTC)

I see. I didn't know that some Fallout3/FNV miscellaneous items were split, bit of a surprise. I'm still leaning towards splitting Fo4/Fo76 junk items myself, if only for those crafting sections. I may raise a forum about it in the future perhaps, lay it on the shelves for now. We just do the crafting component pages then. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:11, February 19, 2020 (UTC)

Organization[]

Hello, nice to meet you! Thanks so much for the help in learning the nuances of section organization. I hadn't seen the resource. This is super helpful, and I appreciate it a lot. Well, back to work I s'pose! - Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 14:34, February 18, 2020 (UTC))

Junk and crafting pages[]

We seem to be using the same baseids for junk items and crafting pages. Like Fiberglass_(Fallout_76) and Fiberglass spool. I have seen many other crafting pages like these, even for Fallout 4 pages. You also added locations for fiberglass, but when looking in the component branch for fiberglass, it doesn't have fixed locations. Instead the fiberglass (in the item branch has). But you added locations there I can't spot in xEdit. Where did you find them? Anyway, those locations appear to be of fiberglass spools, so you should place them there, not on the fiberglass page. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:55, February 28, 2020 (UTC)

Same thing for gold and glass. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:58, February 28, 2020 (UTC)
I updated a few crafting/misc item pages. Wasn't easy but I think I made progress. You can see the examples on Fiberglass (Fallout 76), Fiberglass spool and Gold (Fallout 76), Gold ore and Gold scrap. I'd leave all the pages intact and updated the content and baseid. Check and see if you can help out with the other pages. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:15, February 29, 2020 (UTC)

Michael Tournquist[]

He has one line, on David's holotape. I'm already doing Ant2242 a favor creating these tiny dialogue files, which you can already find, in better understandable format, on holotape pages. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:00, May 3, 2020 (UTC)

Red links[]

Wasn't such a problem, mostly am checking red linked images regularly anyway. Good thing you're going through duplicates. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 12:54, May 12, 2020 (UTC)

Vault Dweller sex[]

Hello, I have a question on where a policy is located and was told that you'd be the person to ask. Specifically, where, or if there is a policy on stating the canonisity of a character's sex. ie the Vault Dweller, and the Chosen One. I've failed to find it myself.--Ant2242 (talk) 00:35, May 13, 2020 (UTC)

So there is no official policy stated someplace? I know we use gender neutral, I just assumed that with both the Vault Dweller and Chosen One being canon as male, the former in the Book of the Elders and the latter with the Bishop child that we'd use those. With the caveat that if we were talking about something that would only happen if the VB or CO were female as an option.--Ant2242 (talk) 09:17, May 13, 2020 (UTC)

If there is no official policy then should we write one in? If so where would it go the editing guidelines?--Ant2242 (talk) 11:21, May 13, 2020 (UTC)

Re: Rotating content template[]

The issue seems to be that {{Quotation}} doesn't work on mobile. It outputs nothing when on mobile, so the rotating content template gets confused when it thinks it didn't receive any content to display. I'll see if I can fix it.
- FDekker (talk) 07:43, May 13, 2020 (UTC)

It's used on 802 pages, so yeah it's a bit embarrassing we didn't see that before. I've changed the template so that it "fails" silently since failure is actually desirable on mobile pages. After all, if Fandom doesn't display regular quotations on mobile, it shouldn't display them if they're in a rotating content either. If quotations suddenly start working on mobile, the rotating content should also work again.

Terminal entries layout Link Rot and referencing guidelines[]

Spurred on by this latest unofficial policy I would like your opinion on my write ups of other non official policies/guidelines. The terminal entries guidelines is to explain and standardize the format of the terminal entries pages of the GECK and Creation Engine games.

User:Ant2242/GECK and Creation Engine terminal entries page guidelines

The Referencing guidelines is something that this wiki still doesn't have. It's an update from the Gamepedia guidelines, using the unwritten policy of the terminal names being considered a container rather than a transcript. Also I'm trying to add a section on archiving for a Link Rot policy... which is also basically completed, it could use an update and review with F76 external references. Did I do something wrong with the Link Rot policy vote? It's been months since its forum vote...

Gratitude![]

FO3 Baby Carriage
You have been given a more convenient way to carry Kate.
Your efforts and diligence have not gone unnoticed, and you have been given a small token of appreciation.
Thank you so very much for supporting me, a newborn infant member of the illustrious content mod squad!

Herp derp[]

Egads! I did not realize PCjbot was a bot, despite it being in the literal name. I was just comparing size of photo, clarity, date of upload. But you are 10000% correct about credit to the individual and I feel like a huge b-hole for having changed them. I will enthusiastically go back and compare to remove the duplicates and swap the pictures back in this way. I appreciate you letting me know the ins and outs, as usual! -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 14:58, May 22, 2020 (UTC))

That takes a lot of dedication, of which will not be in vain! Especially since there is a ton of power armor in that game, wowza. Lakewalker is a hero of Nukapedian labor. Also as an unrelated note, the "For more punctual variants of this user, see Tea." on your user page made me smile. -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 15:49, May 22, 2020 (UTC))

Behold![]

As promised, although with molasses speed, all of the power armor images in location articles match the power armor overview page. I will go about removing the duplicates as I mosey along. Thanks again for the help. -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 04:59, May 24, 2020 (UTC))

Ah it is a labor of love. Plus I don't mind ogling all of the colorful locations of 76, what a pretty game. -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 05:04, May 24, 2020 (UTC))

Video games =/= Holotape games =/= Virtual reality[]

I agree completely. I made these personal pages when the merger of the Video games and Virtual reality pages were merged. I don't know if you wish to use them or not but here are links. User:Ant2242/Virtual reality User:Ant2242/Video games --Ant2242 (talk) 09:53, June 7, 2020 (UTC)

apologies[]

My mistake, i thought they were changing it from (feral ghoul fnv|feral ghouls) to (feral ghoulS fnv|feral ghouls).--Branebriar1930 (talk) 13:16, June 9, 2020 (UTC)

Dweebfest[]

Oh my gosh thank you. I am such a dweeb. I messed around with that for forever. I especially like the littlest ones, they are so cute, I had to add a whole row of them! -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 13:06, June 10, 2020 (UTC))

I have a question[]

On Fallout 76 weapons pages, I'm trying to figure out what to do with the anti-scorched training pistol. The levels for it are 1,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50, but there are only damage numbers for 5,15,25,35,45. Should I had a row for all the levels or 5,15,25,35,45. CookieGamer733 (TalkTextBubble) 00:13, June 12, 2020 (UTC)

Smart's[]

I made it as a stub because I lack the ability to add the message box files to the wiki. If you hit edit this message follows the citation needed tag. "Death and Taxadermy message files for examining traps and bait cooler". As for the appearances be my guest in editing the page.--Ant2242 (talk) 12:29, June 14, 2020 (UTC)

note[]

I didn't undo it because of grammar, i undid it because it contradicted the previous note.--Branebriar1930 (talk) 11:07, June 23, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks[]

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for your work on the atomic shop skins/items its been a really big help for when im looking for items or when im doing research:)

Junk thangs[]

I just tried my hand for the first time at splitting a Fallout 76 junk item. Can you take a look and see if it did it correctly? Ya know, before I go and make a whole mess. The articles were gas canister, split to Gas canister (Fallout 76), and Gas canister (Fallout 4). I cleared out the list of links without a redirect. No rush, just need an expert opinion! -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 17:01, June 26, 2020 (UTC))

Yes, that is exactly what I needed. I know I have super specific things I need to see on the articles I hover over, I thought you may share such excellent neurotic habits. Oh and I am on #teamnavbox, otherwise an article looks naked to me. Or like it isn't wearing pants. Anyway, I'm off to the races on some junk sortin. Thanks again! -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 07:11, June 27, 2020 (UTC))

Mushy things[]

Here is me being a mushball, thankful for you saying yes to the ...me! And for secretly helping me look like not a dunce on the wiki for my entire editing career so far. Uh oh, now everyone knows XD -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 09:33, July 20, 2020 (UTC))

Edit Query[]

Hi, you made an edit to Here There Be Monsters, but you removed a paragraph in Notes about Saugus Ironworks, which surely is applicable information as it helps people on the quest know that there is useful loot in a location that is visited on a quest. Why did you remove it?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ben Wall (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Template[]

Thanks for letting me know. Not sure why it is coded a bit differently than the other templates, maybe I am insane, but all's well that ends well. Hope you are doing awesome! -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 23:08, November 1, 2020 (UTC)

Holy sheets, I just saw you got Savior of the Damned! Congrats lady! kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 07:08, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Hey thanks! And boy howdy do I feel that, I just got mine a few days ago and not only was sloggin it at the end but was more nervous as I got closer, since I am totally the type of person that would bork it on day 364. PHEW. kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 08:21, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

moth lore[]

i see that you're long inactive but i thought you might be amused to know that, as best as i can possibly tell, you impacted the course of the cult of the mothman lore. you incorrectly assessed that the notes throughout lucky hole mine were proof that the cult moved there on the eve of the war. your citation in no way proved the assertion, but a similar model was eventually canonized in Night of the Moth. in the original lore, all that could be said was that there were cultists of some sort in the mine, and Jeff Lane travelled there alone after the war. it went widely unnoticed that the abandoned mine was overtaken by an unknown group around 2060, who remained there until the war. it's possible the lore was headed in this general direction anyway, but now we'll never really know for sure. you might also be interested to know that Devastatin-Dave named the interloper--the creature is never referred to as the interloper, and Dave admits it was a leap, but that's its official name now (according to Wasteland Warfare). i'm writing a book about all this, which is why i bothered to put it under a microscope. perhaps eventually you will see this and find it amusing. cheers. -Anachorite (talk) 11:23, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

  • I should clarify that the Ritual bindings and totems found at both locations are also compelling evidence of a direct connection, but this wiki still drew the direct narrative line well before the game did, and without fully explaining why. Distorted information is a huge theme of Night of the Moth, and I think they were flirting with fan perceptions in the way they handled this. anyway, glad you're as amused as I am! --Anachorite (talk) 19:34, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
