Hi J!

I was wondering if you could sign in to Discord briefly. I sent you a message about a small private matter I was hoping you could help with! Thank you!

RE: Templates[]

Hey J, First off I'd like to say that there are a lot of templates that have been here for many many years that very few people know how to use. Second, Creating templates like that, where we can standardize the language and allow less editing should something need to be changed in the future, is generally a good practice in order to reduce the amount of global edits that people need to do and free them up for more time to do other things. I wasn't the one who placed that template on there, but regardless it's not really that bad of an idea. I'm always willing to look into building templates/tools for anything you need, if you want, you just need to give me a shout out about it. Thank you for reaching out to me! -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 22:17, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

in Fallout 76.[]

Hey J,

I think we should be using this template ({{in FO76|}}) because it makes it really easy to keep our intro sections consistent across the board. It is easier to spot the template than to spot inconsistencies in the text.

Additionally, it allows us to make changes in bulk if need be (ie: when we move Nuclear Winter (mode) to Nuclear Winter, moving the latter to the more appropriate Nuclear Winter (update).

If you are concerned about the day we leave the wiki, I would be more than happy to future proof the template for another 10 update cycles and leave instructions on how to add more, if need be.

Thank you for understanding, Scribe-Howard (waster93) (talk) 22:29, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Busy, busy![]

Yep, and now we have the whole library of Fo1 decompiled scripts and Fo2 source scripts (might even get the decompiled ones for completeness sake). I've deleted the bit of code that caused the redlinks, it's an unintended side effect of the #ifexist parser function. Once the cache clears, they should be gone from WantedPages.

I'll look into making something that's a little more manual, and less uncontrolled. :) Tägäżïël 20:28, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello! How are you? I hope you are excited getting ready for the Ides of March! Ave, true to Caesar. Anywho, I saw your message and wanted to let you inside my brain for what I was thinking on those disambig pages. Lately, I am having fun updating flora with all the plants, flowers, colorful things but the problem I keep running into is in the case that there are several game-specific consumables, and no overview or disambig article to link it to, the only option at that point is to link to one of the games.

I would rather have it so readers can click on a "plain" link with no parenthesis and be able to choose what game variety the seek, instead of having to use the search bar over and over. Would it be ok for me to create gameplay overview articles instead of disambig? Or any other ideas how I can make this work in a nice and tidy way? I will of course dutifully follow your commands! :) -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 14:41, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Global File Usage[]

Hello from Russian Fallout Wiki. We have a shared files repository, which means your files can be used in multiple language sections at the same time. This also means that if you delete files here, we lose them too. Unfortunately Fandom only shows usage on the current project, which makes the job of your admins to check the 22 language sections absolutely unrealistic.

To solve this problem, I made a very simple script that lists all pages in all language sections where the file is used. You will be able to see the list on the file page, and on the file delete page.

The script is published on dev.fandom.com and called GlobalFileUsage.

Little instruction:

— If you want add this script for all users:

Add to MediaWiki:ImportJS:

dev:GlobalFileUsage.js

And add to MediaWiki:Common.js

window.globalFileUsageConfig = {
    'lang': ['bg','cs','de','en','es','fa','fi','fr','hu','it','ja','ko','lt','nl','no','pl','ru','pt-br','sv','tr','uk','zh'],
    'auto_show': true,
    'on_delete': true
}
Also, you can use it with gadgets or like Help:Personal CSS and JS

If you need any functional you can write me. --Alex6122 © 19:35, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm forgot say about 'auto_show': true, it's better with false: 'auto_show': false,
With true this can make a high load to Fandom server with large project like fallout.fandom. --Alex6122 © 19:55, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
Also, don't forgot press "Submit For Review". Thank! :) --Alex6122 © 20:02, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Message box categories[]

Heyooo, just me again. I made categories for FO3 and FNV message boxes, so they don't get too buried in oodles of sign and placards pics. Is that ok? I think we will end up having enough to justify the categories but am open to your thoughts :) -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 04:21, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

I totally understand and agree. I think that in this case, keeping them in a separate category makes sense to me only because the message boxes encompass more than just placards. Aside from that connection, the two groups are fairly different from one another, especially thinking ahead to when we start getting into gameplay help, skill checks, quest decisions. Otherwise, you bet, I am in agreement with keeping categories limited so that nothing gets too buried. Consider me on board! Always! -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 23:52, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Map pack[]

I'll see what I can do, though it might be a couple days from now due to work. I'm not sure how effective it would be, but I can certainly try. Is there any location in particular that you think would be a good starting point? AllYourFavorites (talk) 17:28, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

X is a [Y] in Z[]

In the intro passages, you keep changing the links to all point towards the update page. This is not user friendly, because it doesn't redirect them to the correct overview page. If this is a policy/guideline, we need to change it to not apply to Fallout 76 updates. It makes sense for paid DLC, but not for free game updates.

example

The category is fine, the |games should include both, and the intro passage should not be doing this.

Thank you, Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face

Navbox armors FO76[]

That was exactly my plan! Moving the page to Template:Navbox apparel FO76 will still function if it is a redirect, right? There are so many to change on each page individually. I was hoping to do this short term with a move and correct the links later. Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face 04:30, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Oxford comma[]

My good friend, please tell me that you are part of the Honorable Order of Oxford Comma Users and Promoters. I am shocked to have spotted evidence to the contrary and upon collecting my monocle and subsuming my outrage, I have endeavored to hereby inquire to quell any potential misunderstandings. Tägäżïël 12:19, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Semi-joking, but I try to consistently use the Oxford comma to avoid ambiguities. I think we could discuss adopting either the AP or Chicago manual of style for convenience and to address these issues in the future. Given that we're a wiki, not a professional, formal publication, we would only really need cheat sheets like this one.
Another user was highlighted. Our categorization system is broken due to overzealous application of the "most specific" category rule, which leads to pages not being categorized in all applicable categories and also screwing with the achievement system (as discovered today, due to Sanctuary). It gets quite absurd when you check the examples and none of the example categories are structured in a way consistent with the guidelines.
I've been hitting this wall too, as I think the guideline is specified in a way that doesn't make it clear what's considered a branch. For me, sorting characters by game is a separate branch from sorting them by in-game race; yet eg. Krupper is placed only in Fallout super mutant characters, not Fallout characters, despite those two being separate branches.
As for achievements, achievements track specific categories. The Fallout 4 locations achievement doesn't take into account any edits made outside that category (eg. in sub-categories), which does reduce the usability of our achievement system.Tägäżïël 16:20, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Dave and I are having an argument about whether the scorchbeast queen should be classified as a psyker, due to its hive mind control over the scorched. Could you please have a look? Branebriar1930 (talk) 16:10, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Proper nouns[]

Since when is 'the' a proper noun? We always say 'the whitespring' unless its the start of a sentence. Just like the Pitt. Branebriar1930 (talk) 18:29, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Well then we have a problem, because all mentions of the Pitt and the Whitespring (until now apparently) are never with a capitalised 'the' mid sentence. And that goes for all other instances of names starting with "the". So how can we resolve this for the sake of consistency? Branebriar1930 (talk) 18:42, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

I wanted to chime in on this. We had a long discussion on capitalizing "the" in front of "Whitespring" in Discord. Both the Wikipedia Manual of Style and the APA Style Manual conclusively state that it should not be capitalized. In-game, 99% of the references do not capitalize "the." In the end, the consensus was not to capitalize it.

Past[]

So Leon says that he is taking my rights way after the whole behavior thing, I acknowledged my behavior and wasn't editing for a while, then I come back and after some more time, NOW Leon wants to punish me for it? What's going one? Branebriar1930 (talk) 15:16, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Consequences[]

It's no single incident that resulted in disciplinary measures, it's his behaviour in general over a long period of time, exasperated by his words to Kate in which he stated that he has no real intentions on improving his behaviour towards other users. After his last incident, the only reason we didn't pursue action is because he decided to resign - that changed, but his behaviour didn't, and so here we are.

This was discussed between a few of us including a Bureaucrat, and it was decided that he needs to see that there are consequences for his actions if he doesn't make an active effort to improve himself. We decided against a ban, and I personally decided against a permanent removal of his rights, and we settled on a temporary removal of rights instead. I don't see that as particularly harsh, and if he's truly interested in holding onto his Content Moderator position, then he'll have his chance to show he can still handle the responsibility in the month he doesn't have them. 寧靜 Fox 17:01, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

STOP DELETING WEBP[]

Please stop deleting webp images. They are intended to replace the .png ones. These ones are compatible with the script-based atomic shop pages I'm going to roll out. The reason they are "unused" is because I am currently waiting on an xedit update to allow filters to work with scripts - It runs against the entire list of entitlements regardless of what is selected or hidden.

Changing the links on the page is counterintuitive, because I copy paste over the entire thing each update. This is why the webp ones need to be left intact. Please stop wasting your time on this. I'm sorry it is taking longer than anticipated to roll out. I am as excited about it as you are!Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face 19:16, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Maps[]

Hey there, J. Sorry to bother you, looks like it's been busy today. I'm not really caught up with everything that's been going on. However, I did want to let you know about that idea for maps you had. I tried testing it out today and unfortunately I don't think it's really viable, at least on my end. I have both Marsupial for greater jump height and a Secret Service jet pack, but I'm not in the air long enough to really take any good photos. I would need a ledge or something higher up to keep me grounded, but most locations don't have that aside from rooftops, which are hard to get good photos from since you won't be directly above everything in your field of view. The only thing I could think of is if someone were to use the Survival Tent glitch, but I'm not sure if that's been patched or not. Essentially the glitch lets you get really high into the air through placement of a Survival Tent, but that would require a Fallout 1st subscription, which I'm not gonna dish out anytime soon. I believe there are a few locations that have "overview" images created using this method (see the infobox footer on Watoga), but perhaps it could be used for more detailed mapping as well. Alternatively, I could research if there are any resources on Reddit or other FO76 communities that might be good alternatives, and ask if we could get permission to use it (like we did with Mappalachia). You bet. You will love it, saves so much time now that multiple upload is gone. Wikiup requires a bot password since UCP, not sure why, but there is no discernable difference. Head to Special:BotPasswords and enter anything you want into "create a new bot password." Mine are variations of how I am not a synth. Click "create" and then select all the boxes for rights, mainly the one that says "high volume edits" or something along those lines. It will spit out two different sets of login/passwords, use the second one (for old bots) that uses your regular user name. If you ever forget your password, you can just do this process again. re: categories[]

The dynamic view for category pages will intertwine all of the categories within the standard alphabetic sorting. This might not seem so bad when the only thing in that category are sub categories, but when there are hundreds of items within that category as well, all named similarly, it becomes increasingly difficult to locate these. Just because it has been done a particular way for 10+ years does not mean it is the best way to do things, especially considering the way we have been doing it is only user-friendly on one viewmode. Hi, it's me again, sorry ! LOL. I have another question about editing/anonymous editing. Since I had no choice but to create an account (as you suggested to me in 2018, haha User_talk:98.26.124.18), I cannot figure out how to see the IP address I am posting from like I can see when anonymous editing. I am wondering how I can see what IP address it is showing for this post today ? We came to a different location last night so today's post should show a different IP than the message above on April 6. BTW, I did update my user page to list all of the IP addresses I have edited from prior to this, at least all the ones I know of or can remember. Also, I saw Kate responded to you about flipping the switch for anonymous editing. I doubt I'd be able to access the overseers desk discussion, since clearly I'm not even a Seer, much less an Overseer : ). Would you please give me a synopsis on the reasoning behind this change ? A brand new creation![]

Hi Jan, how are you? I wanted to show you my brand new creation that I am very excited about, an infobox template that utilizes Pickman heart tabs Pickman heart allowing us to easily switch between different sets of information or infoboxes in one spot (easily edit-able and it switches the image too!) or show multiple variants, instead of posting multiple infoboxes in an article, or adding multiple infoboxes worth of information crowded together. If only the first tab section is filled out, it will just function as a normal infobox. So it is versatile!

The very first rodeo is for Fallout 76 consumables, you can see the template/documentation here. I would be remiss not to mention that I owe both Gilpo and Eckserah a great deal of credit for helping me polish it up. I am working on a character variant in this sandbox right now and I am anxious to hear your feedback on one, or the other, or both! No rush or anything, I just want to loop you in and see what you think! -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 07:23, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Oh wonderful, I am so happy and relieved to see your feedback. Thank you! I am quite proud of it. The consumable infobox is completely done and ready for mainspace use. I can tweak it to seamlessly utilize it across games. Especially as you mention, in cases such as 4/76, it will work nicely as many parameters are the same (such as edid/formid) but game-specific parameters (such as spoil rate or mutations) are already built-in, appearing then only on the game-specific tab. And since it defaults to a single infobox, it can be used in a consistent way whether or not it is across games or has in-game variations, both, or none of the above! I can turn my attention to it after work today, stay tuned! And thank you again for supporting it. -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 17:17, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
J: Yeah, we all realize that the variable values are a more advanced way of doing things. It has been a constant thought on my mind on how to explain this to more casual editors. For now, I will probably edit the docs to say something to the effect that the value can be hardcoded or be called with a variable. At least until we can do the proper documentation and organization on the variable calls. And even then, editors are free to hardcode the values on anything new or any pages that don't have the variables in use yet. Variables are mainly a way of future-proofing the pages in the event that Bethesda changes all this stuff in a balance pass like they are doing with a lot of the weapon damage stuff right now. Your support on all this is greatly appreciated. Gilpo1 (talk) 17:49, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Suggestion : Edit Summary[]

I noticed often folks don't enter an edit summary in the "describe what you changed" field. In user preferences, could the default for new users (and anon users) be changed to yes/checked for Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary ? I don't know if you guys have control over the default settings, but that could help a lot to get a reminder to fill in that line. I'm attaching a link to the settings page and a screenshot of the popup you get when it's selected. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing

Edit Summary popup-reminder

User:AngelaStuff2

I understand where you're coming from. I just wanted to throw it out there as a suggestion. Pleading my case .... I actually didn't find it annoying at all, personally. I was very glad of the reminder to fill in that field (as I look back at my anon edits and see I often forgot it. oops!). I would guess anon users (like me) are folks who don't make very many edits and they would be the ones that need the reminder most of all, as they aren't familiar with what's required in editing. Anyone who already has an account wouldn't be affected by the default settings as their account settings would override it. And if they're new, then once they have an account, of course they could change it in their settings if they found it annoying. Plus, if they're new, they're not gonna know any different and just think that's the normal way it is when clicking save when making edits. Just my 2 cents to give another perspective.
Thanks for the explanation on the spam edits. Totally makes sense and very good way to flush out the troublemakers who will probably/hopefully lose interest and move on. I'll hold tight.

Templates[]

Hi there, I see where the issue is. This template is under construction (it has a cleanup tag) and we are working on implementing it. But you are right, there needs to be a more cooperative and unified effort. I spoke with the group and I pitched the idea that you, me, and other template-minded editors create a special committee of sorts. I think it would be helpful if we set a time once weekly that we can all meet on discord to talk about routine changes or showcase new ideas, make plans cooperatively. That way we could all communicate and be on the same page and work together in a collaborative way. Everyone was excited about the idea and I want to know if you would join :) We can schedule around your time zone, whatever works best for you.

As a side note, I want to ask that you would not refer to certain people as "dataminers" in a negative way. We all work together and are not two groups, we are one group. Editors that are well-versed in datamining are making up a large, vibrant, well-connected and productive contingent of our community now and these comments are hurtful. I want to keep our community whole and happy, and as our leader, I especially need your help with it. -kate (kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 19:04, 10 April 2021 (UTC))

Infobox:Plan[]

Hey J. Due to 76 being the only game that has plans and recipes, we have created an infobox template to deal with the extra specifics associated with them in order to not have to bloat the item infobox template. There's a lot more involved with plans like what it teaches you, what conditions are needed to learn it, what conditions are needed to obtain it, the location/method of obtaining it, etc. New mechanics like this should be defined separately in order to allow us to differentiate the fact that they are indeed a new mechanic. I was the one who told Miffy to use this template as I was the one who created the template in the first place for this specific use. We are starting to run into some templates that are becoming so bloated that they are very hard to maintain and I'm trying to avoid that happening, as we already have so many unwieldy templates. I'm actually currently in the process of creating a list of the templates I've worked on, what I've done to them, and why I made the changes. I'll let you know when I have the list up so you can take a look over it and let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions on what I can do to improve it. Thanks a bunch! -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 20210412203624 20:36, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

Wasteland[]

I found the issue. The link was specifying a prefix that now forwards to Community Central (w:), I replaced it with a simple direct link and a note that it's an external wiki. Тагазиэль 18:17, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

I also re-added the full interwiki prefix, so legacy links should work as normal. Тагазиэль 18:24, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

New update[]

To WikiUp, not sure if you saw it, here it is <3 -kate (kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 20:49, 15 April 2021 (UTC))

Outdated wiki description[]

Could you update this wiki's description as seen on Fandom search results and the mobile main page by following the directions here? Please mention Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, remove the colon from "Fallout: Tactics", and remove the last sentence since we no longer cover Lionheart on this wiki. I posted this on Kdarrow's wall, but got no response. rjd1922 (talk) 14:33, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

I updated this already, on our end it reads "Created and maintained by the Fallout community, Nukapedia + The Vault Fallout Wiki aims to create the best resource for the Fallout series of games, including, but not limited to: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Fallout Tactics, and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel." Are you seeing something else? If so, talk page me and I can look into it. Or J can, either way. -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 15:35, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, it's updated on the mobile main page now, but it takes a while to update in Fandom search results. Thanks! rjd1922 (talk) 19:26, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

Resigning bureaucrat status[]

After a long talk with Kate, I've decided to resign my bureaucrat status and remain as simply wiki manager and regular admin. She pointed out that this generates a potential conflict of interest, and we'll be discussing other means to move forward and making sure our relations go in the right way.

This doesn't mean I'm going away, don't worry, I'll always be on hand to break wiki configuration. ;) Тагазиэль 18:30, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

Fallout 76: Enclave[]

Looking back, I loved the edits that were made on the Fallout 76 Enclave. Just saying thanks for it since I am sure that there were other pages that needed to be filled in back in 2019, Cheers. Discord msg[]

Hi Jan, I sent you a brief message on Discord about current events, if you would take a look at your leisure. No action needed on your part, just keeping you in the loop. Unrelated, I am still working on getting all of the documentation in place for those 76 templates, and I consolidated another one to boot. It is taking me longer than usual, I have too many projects going on and need to consolidate that too. Tidying up little by little :) -kate (kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 04:18, 18 April 2021 (UTC))

RE: Template[]

It's a proof of concept template for an explicit content warning due to various us laws as well as Fandoms policies on explicit content. Since we have no age verification, we have to have some sort of disclaimer and I'm looking at building an easy template to use for stuff like this. Thanks for adding the category, I fell asleep at my desk last night working on this XD. -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 13:48, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Just to be clear, J, we do not need this warning. Speaking as a Fandom representative. :) Тагазиэль 16:09, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
I would request that you please not hijack my responses to J about what I'm doing when you are not in the know. The whole point of a Proof of concept is to 1) see if it can be done and b) if so, have something available in case it is needed for whatever reason. In cases where this would be used, it's better to be safe then sorry. -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 16:14, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
This is not hijacking, but adding additional context, so that J is aware that this template is not addressing an actual problem. Тагазиэль 16:43, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Chiming in here. Besides being very clearly stated by Fandom, meaning we don't need clarification from a low-level, part-time staff member with no authority to countermand Fandom corporate, this is also mandated by United States federal law. Being that Fandom is within the jurisdiction of US law, this is something we are required to do regardless. If anyone would like, I can cite the statutes, the civil and criminal penalties for violations, and provide the phone number for the agency at the US Department of Justice tasked with enforcement of these laws.
intrepid359FO76NW Overseer7/30/24 [6:24am]

Please don't presume to speak on behalf of Fandom. What I've said is the official stance of the company. I've asked another staff member to weigh in. Furthermore, you are being abusive. I'd like to ask you to stop. Тагазиэль 07:05, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Don't get me wrong, I know you work for Fandom. However, simply working for a company doesn't make you authorized to speak for them on every matter; a fast food drive-through attendant can't speak for the CEO of his company, it's not his place. So when I see Fandom's policy that clearly states that describing sexual violence and non-consensual sex are expressly prohibited, I take that to be Fandom's stance. If you have a representative from Fandom Legal able to confirm that Fandom's stance is that such topics are encouraged and should be open to minors unrestricted, I would happily review that in writing. To date, though you have promised to deliver confirmation many times, no such confirmation has ever materialized. I don't expect it to, because federal law prohibits it. That's why we're discussing this template, and that's why we can't just take you at your word. I'm looking forward to hearing from Fandom Legal, otherwise I personally will continue to defer to federal law.
intrepid359FO76NW Overseer7/30/24 [6:24am]
Tag you have no right to tell me what I can and can not work on. No one here actually does. I will work on what I want for whatever reasons I want and that includes creating proof of concepts of anything I can think of for whatever reasons I decide I have. One of the policies here is to be bold. I asked politely that you back off of the thread here at the very start when you made an unwelcome comment presuming to know what my reasons/plans were.
J, I would be more than happy to explain my reasoning for why I think this template may be needed if you would be interested. I'm heading to bed now, but if you leave me a talk page message we can figure something out. Thanks! -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 07:49, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
On behalf of Fandom, we do not need this template. — Game widow ( talk ) 14:08, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Regardless of this, I am still allowed to create any templates I see fit as an editor of this wiki and am actually insulted that this statement was made. The fact that there are attempts to stop me from creating a template that honestly has nothing to do with you or the wiki rep here shows that there is a lot more to this than meets the eye and I am frankly sick of it. As I said to tag, and with no disrespect to you, this is a proof of concept and my reasons for doing this are my own and no one is going to stop me from creating this. Since it was felt the need to involve more Fandom staff was required that means that I'm on the right track with this and am going to continue my work with it. This is the last statement I'm going to make on this to anyone who isn't J. Thanks -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 14:27, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Nobody's telling you to not work on the template, but noting that there is no legal need for this template. Two of us have weighed in on the matter to ensure that the administration is aware of what is actually necessary in this case. This happens when someone claims there is a legal problem.

In a nutshell: Edit away, we just want J to stay informed on the matter. Thank you for your understanding. Тагазиэль 15:11, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Mirelurks (FO76)[]

The mirelurks page was 5 different, distinct creatures rolled into one page. This created an extremely cluttered and unwieldy article. In addition, if merging all the mirelurks together is the way to go, should I merge all of the Animals onto one page? How about one giant page for bugs/insects?

In short, these creatures should have never been merged onto one page. They aren't recolor "variants", they are completely different NPCs. Now each article can be focused and detailed without becoming a 70-page mammoth.Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face 20:56, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Timeline[]

I removed the timeline information you added to two of the mirelurk splits. As these creatures appear in both 2102 and 2103, so this information was inaccurate. In addition, we are no longer including the timeline stuff for Fallout 76 because it is problematic with the mandatory time skips in Fallout 76. Since you adamantly requested that we not implement a template to globally manage the timeline, the logical alternative is omission. Thank you, 21:25, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Re: Images[]

Actually almost all of those images are from conversation mode, or lightly edited conversation mode shots ("tfc"-ing to get a slightly wider/more complete shot of the character, etc). The ones that weren't were deliberately taken from an angle meant to emulate conversation mode shots. In particular, the Rhys, Haylen, and Trudy (Fallout 4) images I uploaded were barely-edited conversation mode shots. The Haylen and Marcy Long images you restored actually aren't from conversation mode at all.

I'll say this - I fully agree that conversation mode is the preferred setting for screenshots of these characters, due to the lighting/DoF/etc affects applied making the characters "pop" more, but many of our current images are just not well composed. Ideally an infobox image should be taller than it is wide and should not have large amounts of "negative space"/background taking up space that could instead be filled by a more detailed/high-res shot of the character themself.

I was discussing my efforts to take new infobox images on the discord in case you want to join in the conversation about them there in the future; I'd love to have your input. Right now, however, I'm taking an indefinite break from the wiki both for mental health purposes and in protest of certain events that are probably best not discussed in a public space at the moment. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 19:15, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

I notice from my email notifications that you're continuing to revert my images to older ones (which I also notice were taken by you - not trying to read bad faith into anything, just an observation. Also sorry if I inadvertently insulted you when I said that they aren't well composed). I also notice that you've fully deleted at least some of the new images I uploaded from the wiki. And you're doing all of this without providing edit or deletion reasons.
Again, I don't want to read bad faith into this, but the fact that you never responded to this post, are not leaving edit or deletion reasons, are not basing this on any actual wiki policy that I can find (I checked Fallout_Wiki:Image_policy and Fallout_Wiki:Article_layout_guideline/Character_article just to be sure I hadn't violated some guideline I wasn't aware of, and found nothing about image composition, preferred camera angles/settings, etc), and the personal investment I have since I took several hours out of my day to take all these shots, learning new skills and very carefully aligning them to make them as visually pleasing as possible... I'm sorry, but it's hard not to take this personally.
Like I tried to express in my initial post I'd be happy to receive some detailed input from you on these images and have a proper discussion about this, be it on the discord or here on talk pages (I know you aren't entirely comfortable with the former). I don't mean to step on anyone's toes or degrade anyone's work. I just think that these images aren't up to par given the tools available to us and deserve to be updated, especially given that most of them haven't been touched in anywhere from 6 to 3 years. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 16:31, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the swift response! It's a relief to see. Like I said in my original post, I actually do agree that the old conversation mode was pretty darn good for its time, especially since that was the camera angle that the player is going to see characters from the most, given that it was uniformly applied to all characters every time you spoke to them. The problem is that Fallout 4 tried to modernize things by using more dynamic and "cinematically-composed" angles for dialogue. And, personally, I actually think it's a big improvement in making characters look less like they were sculpted out of silly putty and more like actual people.
I'd say that this is definitely just a change to be made for 4/76 characters since those games not only actively encourage more "dynamic" image composition but, especially in the case of 76 with its photomode, provide us with very easy to access tools to take more dynamic and lively screenshots. RE: not looking into the camera, I actually do fully understand that stance and honestly sort of almost agree with it, but my main counterpoints are:
  • Fallout 4's default dialogue camera generally angles itself so that characters are rarely looking directly forward, so most players won't see that angle very often
  • From my experience I think a lot of Fallout 4's character actually had their faces at least partially designed with the idea that they'd be viewed from a slight angle, as they sometimes look... weird when viewed head-on.
Then, of course, there's a point I made in the discord while having a long discussion about this - most high-profile/top-ranking Fandom wikis use shots similar to the ones that I added for characters, and as much as it manages to surprise me every time I hear it, we are one of Fandom's top wikis. So on some level I feel like we're falling below the bar we should be reaching for in terms of image quality, especially when it comes to images like this, where legitimately over half of the image is just empty, blurry background:

Trashcan Carla FO4

Again, don't mean to start any drama or overstep my bounds. Just want to improve an aspect of the wiki that I realized I could easily help improve. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 16:57, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
I feel like you missed my point there. I'm not saying I don't want the background to be blurry - I actually agree that depth of field effects blurring out the background are preferred, for the same reasons you outlined. What I think looks bad is having it so that roughly 50% of the image is nothing but blurry background. That seems excessive; a lot of these images you've uploaded could have the entire left/right half cropped off and you would lose absolutely nothing about the character we're trying to show off. And I disagree with the idea that an image showing more of the character should be in the gallery rather than the infobox. The infobox should be a quick reference for people who want to get as much information as possible as quickly as possible; I feel that a fuller, clearer view of the character is preferable in that case.
For reference, I actually used an image editing tool on that Carla image I shared above and did the math - there's roughly 2 million pixels total in that image at full res, and over 1 million of them are just the blurry background. I feel like for a character's infobox image the majority of the image should be the character themself, not some blurred out buildings or foliage behind them.
And as for the comment that this is the format we use on almost all FO4 character image pages... yeah, that's kind of the point I'm making? I'm saying we should use a different format on all these pages. The images I uploaded were intended to be step one in a very long-term personal project to update every infobox image for every character in the game. User:Katy Webb has already offered to help me with it after I discussed it in the discord server, where it received near-universal support, including from admins such as kdarrow and AYF, and even Tag of all people. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 18:21, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Just in the interest of demonstrating my opinions/points visually, here's some examples of me marking up what I perceive as problems with our current infobox images:

ProblemImage1 ProblemImage2 ProblemImage3 ProblemImage4 ProblemImage5

I hope this clears up any confusion about the points I'm trying to make regarding composition. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 19:02, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Seems we've hit the crux of this disagreement, lol. Personally I don't consider pictures using my dimensions "cramped"; I see it more as focusing solely on the subject of the image, providing those who visit the page with a clearer visual of the character without any extraneous "noise" that doesn't relate to the character, such as large "blocks" of blank wall, nondescript landscape, generic foliage, etc. This preference probably developed because, like I said, most high-traffic Fandom wikis use those sorts of proportions for character infoboxes. Some examples I used during the discussion on the discord:
Other Wiki Infoboxes
These are some of Fandom's top-ranked wikis; I simply wish to follow the precedent that seems to have been set by our peers at larger and more successful wikis (the fact that I find it more aesthetically pleasing is a bonus). I'm honestly not entirely sure we're going to come to an agreement on this just between us; our aesthetic preferences for character infoboxes may just be too different to reconcile. I'd be happy to put it up to a forum discussion or vote with feedback from more of the community, if that's okay with you; though to be entirely honest I'm not certain how to go forward with something like that. All the best! -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 23:52, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Again, I think this comes down to a fundamental difference in preferences. I'll point out that while the examples I cited above are indeed from movies/TV shows, most video game wikis also use portrait shots rather than landscapes for their Character infoboxes, in either square or vertical proportions:
Other Wiki Infoboxes 2
Near as I can tell this is the standard practice for most if not all wikis, so we're the outliers, and I've already explained pretty thoroughly why I think it's detrimental to the viewing experience for the infobox of a character - which should give the reader a clear and concise overview of the character in question - to use an image that is dominated by the landscape the character is standing in rather than an image that is dominated by the character themself.
Like I said, I feel like we aren't going to agree, and I'm passionate enough about this change that I'm willing to take it to a community discussion/vote if that's okay with you. I'd really like to exhaust all possible avenues for discussion before going there however. I would like to point out that this remains an issue of your personal preference, not wiki policy, as I've pointed out before - we have no actual guidelines for character infobox image proportions or composition, so my images are valid contributions that you've been reverting and deleting. --DirtyBlue929 (talk) 18:08, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
Hey, J. Not sure if you've been busy or something - and not trying to rush you to respond or anything if you are - but I just had a bit of a revelation that I want to share with you about why the FO4 character infobox images bother me while the FO3/NV ones don't. I decided to take a sample FO3 character infobox image and a sample FO4 infobox image and used the lasso select tool in paint.net to compare how much of the image is background and how much of the image is character. These were the results:
Lucas Simms Highlighted
Magnolia Highlighted
In the Fallout 3 image, about 57% of the image is background while about 43% is character. In the Fallout 4 image, roughly 70% of the image is background while about 30% is character. Doing the math, I determined how much background needed to be cropped out of the Fallout 4 image to bring it to roughly the same ratio as the Fallout 3 image, and this was the result: a roughly square image.
Magnolia FO3 Ratio
Now, don't get me wrong, I still personally prefer tall portraits to either landscape or square, and still feel like we should take this to a vote. I just wanted to keep you abreast of developments in this conversation; I'd already posted a longer version of this analysis on the wiki discord. Let me know what you think! -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 23:42, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
And unfortunately I disagree, since in my opinion even at 3:2 the image will be primarily dominated by the background rather than the character, and in my opinion the job of an infobox image should be to provide as clear an image of the subject matter as possible. Our current standard, and even 3:2, emphasizes the background more than the character by virtue of the character being shunted to the side of the image and the majority of the image's area (see my analysis) being dedicated to the background. A vertically-oriented portrait on the other hand focuses mainly on the character while also showing more detail - their outfit, their weight/musculature, etc.
I have a sandbox where I've been working on this matter and comparing looks through the use of our new tabber functionality; feel free to check it out: User:DirtyBlue929/sandbox. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 21:23, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Just a heads-up that I've created a proposal forum to gather more opinions on the matter and see what our general userbase thinks about this matter, located here: . Feel free to contribute to any discussions that crop up there, your input is important to me! -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 20:19, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Infobox location[]

Hey J, when you get a moment, can you tell me what you think about {{Infobox_weapon_creation_test}}? It should be ready to roll out to replace the {{Infobox location}}, but I want to make sure it won't goof up too much retroactively.

The top tabber is limited to 3 images - "image", "image2" and "map marker image"

  • image will automatically be called "Exterior". This can be overridden with label=override
  • image2 will automatically be called "Interior". This can be overridden with label2=override
  • map marker image will automatically be called "Map". This can be overridden with label3=override

In addition, Local map(s)(1-5) will be tabbers, and technical information will be tabbers.

The map marker icon was moved to the map marker line. Being layered over image causes issues on mobile - it shrinks the size of image to about 50% width. For this reason, all layered images will be removed from all infoboxes.

Similarly, all footers are to be retired from all infoboxes - in the case of locations, either move them to image/image2 (use label/label2 as necessary) or move them to the gallery at the bottom.

Please contact me on Discord with your thoughts and suggestions, so I can fix what is broken and hopefully adjust areas I'm not too keen on. There are several parameter fields that I'm unsure about keeping, please let me know about these.

254px[]

Hello again! Thanks for edit in "У Даркуотера" article. But we have a 254px width for images in infoboxes. Also, this value can be changed in future (after UCX, for example). Then we used "ru:Template:Ширина инфобокса".

Maybe we'll launch a bot someday to fix this. --Alex6122 © 17:48, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Happy news[]

You probably saw already, Intrepid's ban appeal was successful and he returns to the fold. I am both overjoyed and relieved. I wanted to tell you how grateful I am that you lent your voice in support of righting that wrong. All of us are. Hello J! I wanted to take a moment to thank you for reaching out to help overturn the ban. I know you said you were merely doing the right thing, but it still means a lot to me. Thank you!

Map fun[]

You bet, I would be happy to make the overview maps. It is good timing since I’ve been on a 76 location spree lately. I’ll get started right away! :) -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 17:09, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Synth Kate sends her thanks![]

That is great news, thank you so much. I actually didn't know you could give those rights, I thought I had to go through a Fandom procedure so this was way easier. I am just getting used to the bot and was kind of embarrassed to spam recent changes with it on accident. Thanks for solving all that for me.

In other fun news, check out the Charleston location articles when you have a minute. I finished the local maps and wanted to know your thoughts. If you give me the green light, I can move on to the other cities. It is good because I am learning more about locations just by running around and placing all of them. Template categories[]

I created the template categories to quickly hunt down and eliminate the instances where the "AP used" parameter (duplicate of "ap used") is used. Please do not worry about these template categories, they are for clean up use only. I do not need to create a huge documentation for every little thing I do. If you can't figure out why it's there, then just ignore it.Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face 20:27, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Why the maps are hidden[]

Fishtank, a staff member at Fandom, created a do's and don'ts for infoboxes. Here, they give the Local Map implementation we had for years as a red flag example of what not to do. The reason it is bad, is because the image is shrunk down so much in the infobox that users on both desktop and mobile need to click the image to get an idea of what the heck they are looking at. Additionally, they recommend against having enormous infoboxes, which is why everything is being tucked away in tabbers. Hopefully, we can find time to redo all of these map images so it is possible to see the information at a glance.

I hope you now understand what I'm trying to do. Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face 06:34, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

I feel I should point out that that's not an official article from Fandom, it's the equivalent of an Essay on Wikipedia. Which means it isn't binding for anyone and only reflects the opinion of one user. AllYourFavorites! 15:00, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
At the risk of butting in, that doesn't really change the fact that the majority of wikis follow the suggestions set out in said "Essay" because they're generally agreed by most people to be good guidelines. --DirtyBlue929 (talk) 19:05, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Armor pages[]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that currently my main goal is to update all armor pages with accurate info about mods and filling crafting/infobox/locations/most important info. After I'm done with that I'll go back to every page and improve how it looks, so you don't have to make changes yourself. You can let me know what needs a fix and I'll try to do it. I know that these pages look bad, but I have to make some templates and tables first to make them look better. I'll try to make all images squares from now, sorry for that. Thanks for the help. Global file usage[]

Hello, I hope you are doing fine on this great day. I just patrolled some more files that are marked for deletion and run into an issue. Specifically, with this File:Mr Sandman (Chordettes).png|file and its global usage.

I changed that file to the new one the Russian and Ukrainian templates, alas, the old image still shows under global usage. Is this a known issue that can be ignored on my end or am I missing something? Knowing this will be valuable, in case that I encounter something similar in the future. I saw your message to me, sorry I did the perks wrong. I changed it back to the way it was before and won't edit anything else. Sorry again. Hellotalos (talk) 02:41, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

I am actually in support of the splitting, but they do not all have to be done at the same time. With 76 being the most recent game and the one currently being updated the perks should be split off for that at the very least right now. We need to be encouraging to our newer editors and we also need to stop rolling back changes that are new or don't follow what we usually do. One of the biggest things in our guidelines is "be bold" and it's hard for users to do that if they are being rolled back and challenged at every turn. -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 18:14, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Template:ExplicitContentDisclaimer[]

Hey J, can you please not just delete templates? I haven't been around lately because I've been busy, but doing this can really cause issues if someone was working on something. At the very least talk page whoever was working on it first. Templates don't really need to be used anywhere in order to have value. Thanks -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 18:14, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Associations[]

Sure no problem at all. I left them empty because in the past, when I delete categories that are empty, I thought I remember seeing you un-do my edit and restore them (Van Buren maybe?) This time I just left them, but you can let me know how to handle that. I created new categories because factions are a gameplay mechanic - either joinable or enemy (or in 76, recently deceased). These groups are more organizations/associations from the past, not in-game factions. I am happy to handle the interwiki. Will do so shortly.

Unrelated, can you do me a favor and give rollback to the following patrollers, Gilpo and Canyon Light? Admin can give patroller rights but they can't give rollback rights. Not sure why. Anyway, hope you are having a good night/morning. I appreciate you! -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 23:13, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Snallygaster note[]

Hey J, just wanted to give you a heads up that the link you changed on the Steel Reign page now points to the wrong thing. We had a 'Snallygaster' note in Steel Dawn which took the 'Snallygaster (note)' page name. Now we are getting another 'Snallygaster' note in Steel Reign, so according to the guidelines, the next best name should be 'Snallygaster (Steel Reign)' correct? Let me know if I'm reading this wrong. Also, my plan was to keep the content that's normally transcluded all on the Steel Reign page pending the release, so we could easily update all the info in one location and then break off into transclusions. We are likely to have another month or so of testing Steel Reign in the PTS and stuff is possible to change. Take care. Gilpo1 (talk) 14:13, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing the link. I wasn't planing on un-transcluding them, I was just giving you a head's up why I had left them on the Steel Reign page. In other editing matters, I curious to why you are reverting the Fallout 76 perk card pages to not use the new design. Being able to see all star levels + Nuclear Winter in the infobox is so much more user friendly, especially on mobile. Is there a policy against this? Gilpo1 (talk) 16:16, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Re: Master Heavy Gunner[]

Sure, I won't touch them anymore if you think that they look better with the old template. Even though I think they are way more informative with the new one. But honestly, if we are just to mash a table into those articles and then call it a day, we might as well decide to remove them and instead add a column for pictures and another one for SPECIAL equip cost to that table on the Fallout 76 perks article.

As for your hypothetical question about the perk being in the next game, we would just create a new article for it. I think that, in the long run, we are better off with separate articles for each game anyway. Imagine how an article with all perks may look like, once Fallout 10 is released. Over time, infoboxes will become clunky and hard to read, even when they support 10 tabbers inside them. Not to mention the article itself is easier to access and to read in my opinion.

But those are general questions, and we really should come to a community consensus sometime in the future. For the next time, when you see me using new templates, I'd love to hear your veto earlier or maybe ask me if I plan to update all perks or something along the line. As it is now I spent a couple of hours on those perks, and that is time that I could have spent on improving other things.

Thanks for understanding and have a great evening. –FindabairMini-JSPnP LogoThe benefit of the doubt is often doubtful. 17:10, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Policy compliance question[]

I was wondering if I could ask you a question about both my actions and those around me in regards to both policy and its interpretation. Here is the policy in question: "Fallout Wiki:Reference formatting guideline".

I keep getting in trouble for making sure that the references correct to the in-game Content. I have also been keeping the format as correct as possible. I don't know where I'm going wrong, and at this point I don't believe that I am. I don't want to be permanently banned for simply editing the wiki.--Ant2242 (talk) 02:58, 28 May 2021 (UTC)

Should I rename it to the location name in the guide? Should I change it from unmarked quest to something else? I've added the information that I have to the page.--Ant2242 (talk) 17:33, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Could you please review the page, to make sure that I didn't add the content incorrectly? Also are the characters randomly generated or are they always generated the same way?--Ant2242 (talk) 17:44, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

C-Mod[]

Meeting wiki rep[]

It is probably going to be too inconvenient of a time, but I wanted to make sure you received an invite to a meeting we are going to have for staff to meet and greet our new wiki rep Mr Pie 5, tomorrow/today Sunday 9PM UTC/4PM CST, meeting hall on our Discord. I apologize about the time, it was the only time I could find. Understandably if you can't make it, I will post a transcript like I did for MotM. It is nothing wild, some quick introductions, just get a feel of what a wiki rep is, what they can do for us, what we should bring to them, what their expectations are for us. Thought it would be good for the group to make them feel at home! And as far as meetings, I have run out of days in May so the next MotM, I will be doing in June. Let me know if any weekends would work better for you. I will make sure the time is better :) -kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 05:51, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Missing dialogue file[]

I was wondering who do I ask to add missing dialogue to the wiki? I was writing up the Apostles of Eternal Light article and realized we need the files for the characters in the Water Caravan Squabble.--Ant2242 (talk) 12:40, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you!!!--Ant2242 (talk) 14:56, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

I was wondering if you could check the GECK for the Water Caravan Squabble Editor ID and Form ID information. I don't know what the name of the unmarked quest, if it even is one, is from either. I've checked the Collector's Edition guide and can only find it merged with the other Micky-Rosa encounter as a location.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:52, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Dialogue templates[]

Yes, the dialogue tables have been discussed in the Discord server. By using a template, we guarantee that all pages are standardized. I will be adding the {{linkable}} or {{anchor}} directly into the template, so that it may be omitted from the article itself. For example:

|line =20

You should be able to write a macro for Notepad++ to automatically process existing dialogue tables into template format. Scribe-Howard (waster_93) (talk) FO76 vaultboy transparent face 02:23, 31 May 2021 (UTC)

Edit: Check our DM on Discord for a rundown on why I did this. I'll send them momentarily.

Infobox plan[]

Why are you changing all the infobox plan templates to be infobox item? We are supposed to be moving away from the more generic infoboxes into more specific ones in order to follow the Fandom best practices for infoboxes. Not only that, plans specifically are a 76 only unique item type and have different rules than other items. Please revert them back to the infobox plan. Thanks, -Eckserah User Eckserah Head Dataminer 17:12, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Infobox plan changes?[]

I see you are changing all of the infobox plan templates to item, was this the result of a discussion? If so, I missed it but want to express my disagreement. I have trained several of my mentees to use infobox plan in preparation for our upcoming FO76 workshop/world object project. It is a well-documented, new-user friendly, and often utilized template. Infobox item is not documented for this use and utilized too broadly to be accessible for everyone. We have not discussed this in meeting of the minds or by way of any forums to my knowledge, and many editors have worked hard to learn it for our project. I ask that you please do not change these at least until a conversation has taken place with the group. --kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 17:34, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Personal sandboxes[]

Hi J, I had a few users approach me and ask that I say something regarding leaving their personal sandboxes as-is. Our policy says that pages in the "user" namespace should not be edited by others without permission, they are works in progress. Aside from something that is significantly breaking something else on the wiki, we ought to respect that and let the user continue their work instead of changing things ourselves, since it may not be what they intended. I know I have been guilty of it, too, during my normal maintenance work, but wanted to let you know to keep the peace :) kdarrow Pickman heart take her for a spin! 05:06, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Gerard dialogue parameters[]

I was wondering if you'd be willing to verify the parameters for six lines from Gerard.

Line one:

The Lone Wanderer: "Spreading tainted water under the guise of helping humanity? I can relate."
Gerard: "What you see as the "taint" of radiation, we see as Atom's Eternal Light."

I believe that this is only available if the Aqua Pura is poisoned with modified FEV during the quest Project Impurity .

Line two:

The Lone Wanderer: "Thanks, but I'll pass. I've had bad luck with cults."
Gerard: "As you wish, of course. In this cruel world, simple prudence says he who offers help in one hand, conceals a knife in the other. But I assure you, we wish only to help the unfortunate, and expose them to the eternal light that can guide us all to salvation. That is why we offer our blessed water to any and all who are athirst."

I believe that this is related to the Treeminders or Point Lookout tribals.

Line three:

The Lone Wanderer: "Can I enter the monastery?"
Gerard: "Your Light is strong, but only the truly Luminescent may enter our monastery. Please return when you are closer to Atom."

This is the parameter on the dialogue file page "SpeechChallengeFailure" but I'm not sure how this is a speech challenge failure.

Lines four, five, and six:

Ah, but of course! You have been blessed by Atom with Eternal Light, and are most welcome to our monastery. You will find many kindred spirits within. Please, introduce yourself to our leader, our Luminescent Mother, Curie the Third.
You have been marked, but I feel your dedication is still too weak. Our holy site is only open to the truly blessed. Perhaps after you have spent more time praying to Atom in warmth, you will be deemed worthy.
Oh, truly your Light is second only to the Suns of Atom themselves! You are more than welcome. Please, speak with our leader, our Luminescent Mother, Curie the Third.

I believe that these lines are only spoken if the player's radiation count is in some sort of range that I cannot determine.--Ant2242 (talk) 15:04, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

NW locs[]

Do you have the guide? None of us do, so we used a combination of game files and descriptions to settle on their names. Re: CSS changes[]

Met plezier. Zo voel ik me nuttig ;-)

- FDekker (talk) 10:15, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

- FDekker (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
