• Go to the Preferences page, in the User Profile section, and scroll down until you see a place which allows you to change your avatar. It should show your current avatar and a button to change it. Hope I helped.

Terminal note[]

On some of the personal terminals that note does appear, but it is always on the terminal so if you get inside the citidel early via a glitch it will be on there, however assuming normal gameplay yes that note does appear on a terminal after Reddin's death. No Werk[]

Hey dude i am guessing you are our "High Elder" so i hope u can help me, i play Fallout 3 and New Vegas on pc and run with windows 7. Yesterday i tried to start up New Vegas and it wouldn't get past the menu (it would go to the menu and crash), it says that some file "caused runtime to end in a rather unusual way". I cannot see which file is the cause because the error box is to small and cannot be enlarged. Do you know anything of this sort happening? Thanks.(Nemerian 06:20, April 12, 2011 (UTC))

Yakov[]

J, I know you and I have had a bumpy start together but I recenetly sent a message to YakovFrolov's talk page about his hatred towards me and alot of other users, stating my opinion and my observations in th emost polite way I could, and he retaliated with an agressive message on my talk page. I sent him another message explaining myself again to him. He is constantly rude no matter how polite someone tries to be to him in showing him he is wrong in his anger. I do believe he is in complete disregard of the Wiki Policy and most likely thinks of it as a joke. If there is anything you can do, especially after the hate bashing he did on you and another admin after his last block on Ausir's page, please do something. He is degrading the value pf the Wiki and making us all look like nothing more than a flame war battlefield. This Wiki is a community site and a number of my friends have come on as Anons and seen that he is far to over agressive. I hate to bother you being that you are most likely busy with far more important things but when it comes down to people completely turning away from the Wiki because of one persons extreme hatred, something needs to be done. Weapons[]

Well since it is based on the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch which is also capped, I would side on it being capped for us also. And they arnt my page, but vandals seem to be attracted to the weapon pages, so I tend to keep a close on them along with others. Ahhh, I didn't. Simply blanking the texture turn the model white for that part.

As for Alien blaster, that's not down to me. I tend to steer clear of this caps thing, as the policy is not well defined and many people have there own ideas on it. If you want to know the back story, just read the very first message on my talk page when I first started here, but it confuses the hell out of me and I do not agree with it. I just thought I would let you know, that while on the face of it, it may seem true. There are 2 things to consider, firstly you can sell it to Hannibal and then pickpocket it back. Secondly payments by these guys is not affected by Barter and weapons condition, where as with merchants it is. Textures[]

Well you need to have up the block list (F2) and block detail (F3) in the view. Find the NiTriShape for the skin, then the related BSShaderTextureSet, usually located right above it in block list view or under BSShaderPPLightingProperty in block tree view if you expand that NiTriShape. Once you found that, in the block list detail at the bottom, click the little arrow next to textures to expand that and it will have the textures located there, just remove the textures direct from there. 18:07, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

Armor and clothing forum[]

Yeah, that is something I have looked into with little success. As far as I can figure, the model animation attaches to points on the skeleton model. Now this model is separate to the clothing mesh, so attaching poses direct to the clothes doesn't work. As for manually adjusting the pose (moving the arms down to there sides), well the end up very deformed indeed. 21:47, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Adding a Category?[]

I can't find any option in the bottom of a page to add a category. I had never heard of this until the achievements came out. I had seen that you managed to get the achievement. So, how do we do it? I don't exactly know what you are talking about, but i'm assumoing you were talking about the redundant pages I made. AS you know in Fallout New Vegas there are bullet cases that you can use at Relodaing benches to get more bullets. Well I thought the cases had been overloookeed so i made to pages for the cases called cases and casings which is what cases are reffered to in the series. Now a few people were kind enough to point out that teh pages were redundant since there were pages on each individual type of case. Hopefully that clears stuff up. After going through Most of the people who play Caravan it showed that Crocker bets the most so I added it in. Pre-war outfits[]

I have readed the comment you have posted in my talk page. I was thinking if we should create one page for each pre-war outfit (pre-war parkstroller outfit, spring outfit, etc.) showing more information about that outfit such as locations where you can find them, etc. We could also put pictures of the outfit on them (the male and the female version of the outfit). Ahhh been doing it for the past week on weapons and it makes a big differance, just see Plasma rifle, Laser pistol or Minigun for example. What I really need is the Dialogue files from FNV to be added like previous games. That way it can be linked to the reference source for non-pc players to view when dialogue is concerned. Alright that is understandable, but just so you know I was not posting the blog in order to get an achievment, I was just posting it as information that was not yet on the site in the news category. Lol because I'm such a freak and play this game for like 6 hours straight, I've used the Explorer Perk in both games and been everywhere :D

Marksman carbine[]

Just checked the GECK, in the 2 columns you have count and used by. Count is the number of times it is placed in the game directly (in this case 3 times) and used by will cover things like levelled lists which generate the random items for containers and merchants. Now if you right click on it and select used by, it brings up a box which shows these 2 things separated. The top section shows all the used by (level lists etc.) and the bottom section shows the count. In this case you will see that the Marksman carbine appears twice in Vault 34 and once at Nellis (if you double click them it will load up the location so you can see where they are placed). So in the case of the Markmans carbine there is only 2 locations you are guaranteed to find this weapon.

The rest is all level lists (in the top) which are in this case are random generators, but that isn't always the case (this is where it gets more complicated). That section will also show NPC holders as well and levelled lists which generate condition levels (which arnt random for the item, just the condition, although these then can be used in a random level list further down the line) These take a lot more checking as you have to follow the daisy chain of lists to the source of its use, but I did that when I overhauled the page and found all them to be random in the Marksman carbine case.

As for the cats, yeah I noticed that last night when I did it and need to go back and double check there usage, kinda made stop in my tracks for a bit figuring it out. As far as I can tell cut is cut, but non-game play is used but not seen in-game (like Ron the Narrator, who is used to narrate but is hidden from view and never seen during the game). 13:20, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Nope, not always. It it is down to what list is used for the container, some lists are a fixed item but level the condition, some are random loot generator all at level 1 and some will generate certain weapons at certain levels. 13:47, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Indeed, I have been gone again for a little while, mostly because school has taken the lion's share of my time. If it were up to me, I wouldn't do any homework at all :P However, I have also recently been developing my skills at web development. I am currently in the process of making two separate websites, and one will be for use in our (Fallout's) very own modding community! Actually, I've posted a youtube video showing my progress on that website, so you can check it out here.

As you could have guessed by viewing it (that is, if you have before reading this part of my comment ;), this website will serve as a repository for custom art made by Fallout 1 and 2 modders. It's my little gift to them because someone started making the same thing over a year ago, and they haven't said a word about it since then.

In other news, it looks as if you are slowly running out of things to improve on the Vault :P Your edit count hasn't skyrocketed at its normal rate as far as I can tell. Since Category:Fallout: New Vegas unmarked locations is a subcategory of Category:Fallout: New Vegas locations than including both is redundant, so I think they should be removed.

Ah, I take my comment back about your every-increasing edit count. I thought that I last check your editcount at 20,000 three or so months ago, but it seems you're editing as much as ever :P

Anyway, I've noticed many small-time users uploading very unsuitable quality pictures for various New Vegas NPCs (example: Christine Royce). You and I should watch for this in the future, because yours and GhostAvatar's pictures should really be the only necessary ones at this point.

FNV creatures project and achievements[]

I think it would be a good idea to start a project focusing on converting all the Fallout: New Vegas creature pages into the new layout and templates. Additionally, I was thinking of setting up a category-specific achievement tracks, with special achievements for editing pages in the FNV creatures category. I just thought that they needed their own, individuel page. I you disagree, they can easily be dismantled. Creature project[]

Radscorpion shouldn't be to bad a page with only 5 main variants once it is finished. You should check Feral ghoul (Fallout: New Vegas) that I am working on at the moment to get a idea of how it should end up. As for base ids, you should list all the ones that are used in-game (ie: The ones under the count section), the ones under the used section tend to be used as templates for other variants ( I am still trying to figure out all the in and outs of the uses). But a quick look I see you have made a easy mistake which may make the tables seem bloated. There are 2 Giant radscorpion levels (9 and 15) that need to be split into different tables, just like Centaur (Fallout: New Vegas)#Centaur is. 20:21, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
