Huh, it was the reason to remove the red links. What oddity. What can be done to remove those links from the Wanted Pages list? Energy X 17:12, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox problem v12.3[]

Any word back from Kirkburn yet? I can roll back the changes and check to see if everything's OK, and put them back again if they're not, if you want me to. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 13:14, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

I just tested the extension. It's returning the proper values. I'll roll back the changes tonight. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 13:24, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

Videos[]

Hi J. I was reviewing some of my bot's edits when I realised that by default it will replace YouTube videos (those with <youtube>) on pages with a video file (which the bot will create). There seems to be no option to turn it off (or on)... Sorry for any confusion this may have caused (I believe they work the same though). For simplicity, I will go around and try to revert those changes and delete the files uploaded. --Skire (talk) 02:03, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Red-links[]

Just warning you before-hand, but don't have a cow when you see the numbers of red-links popping up after today. I'll be finishing up those VB links this week and next week, and now I'm having to deal with some linkage over the Pre-War nav-box. On-top of that, it appears that we have a major inconsistency. Regarding metro stations, 'station' itself is an improper noun, and it seems we have quite a few that are considered both improper and proper. So it looks like I'm going to have a lot of fun tonight fixing those. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 02:06, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Scratch the station red-links. Those should be finished by tonight. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 02:22, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
Oops! Spoke too soon, it seems like. We'll (Skire and I) will get those station red-links finalized tomorrow. I hope they don't bother you too much until then - I know how much you hate red-links. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 02:41, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
I was told not to make redirects anymore. As for the red-links, I just notified you that a bot was on the job, and they would be gone soon. As for 'company' and 'corporation', they actually are not capitalized. Can you please go back and revert your changes? For instance, there's the Nuka Cola company. The company itself is just Nuka Cola, and the company is an addition onto the name to declare what kind of business it is, meaning that it's still an improper noun. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 16:48, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
Also, please don't make assumptions. Skire offered to help with those red-links. You may even ask him - I told him that I was willing to reap what I had sown, and he said he'd be happy to lend a hand with his bot. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 16:49, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
Absolutely! I know how confusing capitalization can get, even for native speakers. But the way that I was taught and has been correct so far is that the only thing to be considered proper in a name is what they establish themselves to be. For instance, Coca Cola call themselves exactly that: Coca-Cola. They do have company in their name, but it's just to establish that they are, indeed, a company. Another good example would be the Apetex corporation. When being referred to, unless someone is being overly formal, they would just be called Apetex. Let me know when you get a second opinion. I won't push it or anything if someone disagrees - I know that's one of the more tricky areas to get into. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 16:58, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, it was Gunny. As for red-links, they are a bit necessary for me, since my ctrl f search function does not work, and red-links are needed as a sort of port of harbour for me. They're not really that much of an issue, though, when someone is actively working on them. Even Wikipedia, when looking up red-links over there, states that red-links are not bad to have. (But I do understand that we're not Wikipedia.) ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:00, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

VB[]

Oh, there was something I was meaning to ask you... I've been working on the stub removal project, and something I came across is that there were quite a few weapon files hidden away in the VB demo that could be obtained through the use of console commands. I originally had asked HawK, but he's... banned. I was wondering if you were interested in helping me out there? It would be nice to get some more details into the VB pages. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:26, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

That's what I've been doing. I dropped work for a couple of days so I could read as many of the design documents that I could find, as well as reading the Armageddon Rag. Sorry if I miss anything. Feel free to correct me if I remove a necessary stub. I know I'll be leaving them on weapon pages for now until we can gain confirmation over which ones can be obtained through the use of console commands. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:45, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Break[]

I'll be back in a bit to work on those pages more. For now, it's time for a late lunch and to clean up the house a bit for company later. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:01, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

As soon as it comes online, I'll make sure to have it on the job! It's pretty bad (exhausting) how much time needs to be diverted just to fix links. I remember why I stopped working on them before my editing died out after the split. But if the redirects really are the reason why our article-pages load so slowly for some, then I'll do my best at getting everything tidied up. Hi J. I saw the results to the housekeeping votes forum. Is it okay that we keep the clause above voting rationales being recommended (only) in the policy, but removing the rest? Rationales are always recommended and this notion is unchangeable by voting. --Skire (talk) 22:02, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

ok...im going to explain it again...since youre uncapable of understanding it you retrard, I AM THE GREEK ONE HERE, NOT YOU ok you understood that now didnt you, it doesnt say a light shineth in darkness, since shineth doesnt exist, and it doesnt say "and the darkness comprehended it not" it says and the darkness overtook it, if you cant even build up a real sentence, then leave it cause comprehended it not is a grammar failure....and like i said, dont open your mouth if you cant write talk or understand the greek language.

FO2/FOT merges[]

Is there any reason why FO2 and FOT pages should be merged? I think all the different stats on one page looks messy and makes it harder to find information on the item in a specific game. None of the FO3 and FNV pages are merged together even though many of them have identical stats. Every game seems to have it's own pages except FOT. Luvere (talk) 04:59, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Audio tags[]

I would remove the tag, but I'm adding them for a different reason. You see, the project is Notable Quotes, whereas I am only focusing on the ones at the tops of the pages. As for the order, I'll make sure they're the right way round in future. I don't have the ability to upload sound I'm afraid... Not that I would know how either. -- GOTW User | Talk 15:39, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, people with talking heads. If you look though, the quote on Izo's page is not from Izo, but Gizmo, who does speak and so you can add audio to that page. Don't worry, I've thought it through. -- GOTW User | Talk 15:46, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
But I'm covering more than the project... Also pages like Charon (Fallout Tactics) have the top quote done, but not his notable quotes. So I left that. I'm just being thorough. -- GOTW User | Talk 15:48, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
I know I could, but I'm enjoying it to be honest. Got a bit of tv on while I do it, is not so bad. It's just there are more than I thought, and because I'm being very specific (I'm sure it doesn't look like it), it just means it takes a while. Thanks for the concern though :) -- GOTW User | Talk 18:53, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Weapon jamming[]

Hey Jspoel, a user named Manic dude has been adding a bug to several weapon pages that they won't jam. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there some weapons that are designed not to jam in the GECK? I would check, but the weapons he listed are in Fallout: New Vegas and I only have the GECK for Fallout 3. Even if this is a bug, like he believes, shouldn't it be in the general bug page if it affects so many weapons? Thanks for the help, Paladin117>>iff bored; 16:37, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

  • Impossible. They've jammed pre-DLC and also have actual sound effects of the self-loaded weapons. The only exception would be the .357 magnum revolver and Dinner Bell, which have no chance of jamming. ~Manic_dude

Huh?[]

Not sure how was that possible, but anons begin to insert videos, even if it is not possible, as one needs to be logged in. See here. One more thing - as seen here, the bot changed the <youtube> tag. Does this mean it cannot be used? Energy X 16:41, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

That was not the smartest option. This contradicts the image and video policy, so there needs to be a re-write. Energy X 16:49, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Hey J! I just wanted to remind you (from what GoTW told me) of some stuff in FW:LAY, which tells us the order of project tags, {{For}}, maintenance tags, etc. at the top of pages. Human article[]

The article on humans is incredibly thorough, but it doesn't follow the article guidelines on creatures which is weird considering it is classed as a creature. Should I rearrange the article so it follows guidelines? Also, hi! Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

He does, indeed...[]

Yes, I have a lot more spare time now-a-days, so I'll try to be here as much as possible! I wouldn't say I have that much talent, but I will try to keep up my work on the creatures! Also, should we differentiate "species" from creature, then, as in the case of the human article? MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

Okay, I see your point! I'll continue with the creature pages. Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

Interesting dilemma[]

Hi, me again, I'm starting to feel like a burden here. Anyway, I came across the Wolf article, and I am considering splitting it, seeing as it is, as of now, a single article for three entire games: Fallout 2, Fallout: Tactics and Van Buren. Now, we could easily split it into three bits: a disambiguation page, a Fallout 2 page and a Fallout Tactics page, and from there either cover Van Buren on the disambiguation page or as a separate article. What do you think? Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

Re: Huzzah![]

Quotes[]

I get the sound files from extracting from NV's BSA files using the Fallout Mod Manager, I just browse through those files until I find the one I want, copy it to the destop and then either trip or patch it together with another as needed. For written quotes I just listen to the file and type (of use subs if I'm playing the game). JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard

The folders are organized by voice actor, so finding them is simple enough and it gives me an order to do stuff in. I just use Audacity to stitch two together (other audio editing programs are available), open all the files I need for that quote and then copy/paste them in the correct order on one track. Had to do it with Festus because his list of symptoms quote was split up to the point where it was actually one file per symptom. Notable Quotes Revert[]

Speeches[]

Hey J, I was wondering your thoughts on something. I was looking at the speeches on the Enclave Radio page and noticed some of these speeches differ from the what's in the GECK. While most of the differences are in punctuation, capitalization and the odd incorrect word, I placed the GECK versions, in order, in a sandbox of mine. I left out Speech 9 because Ant already took care of that. My main thought is about the capitalizations; some of them differ from what the wiki uses. For instance, the GECK has super mutants capitalized. So, should we leave them as is, quote them exactly, or modify them a bit to fit the wiki? What do you think? Paladin117>>iff bored; 22:16, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, I'll double check everything and post them. How do you get their sound file, out of curiosity? Do you need a mode for it or can it be found in the GECK or folders? Paladin117>>iff bored; 22:43, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

Hmmm[]

Yeah, I didn't really contemplate the difference. Do you think that I should seperate them out into a notes category? Don't worry about it though, I'll go back and sort it out. -- GOTW User | Talk 14:30, June 23, 2013 (UTC)

When did I use a c? In English, disc is disc. It's american to spell it with a K. I know that's what we use here, but I'm not spelling it wrong. Alright, I'll subcategorise all the paper notes as well after I do these. What do you want the category to be called? -- GOTW User | Talk 14:41, June 23, 2013 (UTC)
I know that, I was asking when I used a c. :) -- GOTW User | Talk 14:47, June 23, 2013 (UTC)
This makes sense now. One of those three holodisks had a much more detailed description, so I just copy and pasted the appropriate bit. I didn't actually type that, so that's why I didn't know what you were talking about. You'll need to change the third Vera Keyes's song in that case. -- GOTW User | Talk 14:53, June 23, 2013 (UTC)

Sneering Imperialist[]

NPCs are affected by it dependent on "race". Any character with "raider" in front of their race is affected, or at least that's what's described on the Sneering Imperialist page. I can look at the perk's script in the G.E.C.K. just to make sure what is on the page is correct. 69.125.134.190 16:16, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

I just checked the G.E.C.K., and it is dependent on race. Besides "raider", characters with a "DeadHorseCaucasian", "SorrowCaucasian", or "WhitelegsCaucasians" race will be affected too, but it doesn't say anything about tribals that are African American. 69.125.134.190 16:23, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

Basically...[]

I improvise. I have played the games and have as such seen the enemies in-game, but I've also got the statistics to work with. So according to the stats, my experience, the creatures design and the theme of the enemy, I narrate a description of them in a rather thematic and dramatic way. I've always thought it more fun to read articles that are dramatic and enchanting than boring old "They do this, and they do that..." droll. Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

S.P.E.C.I.A.L changes[]

Much like the player, NPC stats are modified by their clothing or armor. This means stats like one's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. will chance. Unfortunatly for us, not many people realized this (so far I've only found one page with a correct S.P.E.C.I.A.L. that was changed based on the NPC's armor), so I'm going through as many characters as I can to update their stats by starting with their S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s. 69.125.134.190 14:39, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

G.E.C.K.[]

Saw your message to Ant, and it reminded me that I've been playing around with the G.E.C.K. for awhile. It's actually turned out to be a lot easier than I thought after I upgraded to a laptop that could handle the program in the first place. (It just crashed on start-up with my old one.) I was wondering: If there are certain features that I should look into if I want to use the G.E.C.K. in a practical way for this wiki, what should I focus on first? In your opinion, of course. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 16:33, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

I actually do have a quick question for you: I've been playing around with NPC animations, and I noticed after allowing movement, that the NPCs begin sporadically shaking uncontrollably. Scratch that - I already figured it out. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 16:40, June 25, 2013 (UTC)
I'll have to write that all down - thanks for the tips. I was thinking, though... we've focused so much on adding quotes and the likes here, and it got me to thinking how we handled dialogue for the original Fallout titles. I have already discovered where to find the full dialogue trees, which includes what the pc can say/ask, and I was thinking about opening up a personal project to either add dialogue documents like we did for the original games, or to add them into a collapsible table on the respective article-page. I'll have to create an example for you to see what I'm thinking. What do you think? It would really help to have all dialogue trees our for public viewing, instead of relying on the tedious processes of pulling up the game (possibly even having to start a new game or using the horrible rdf command), or waiting for G.E.C.K. users to pull them up manually. What do you think? ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:12, June 25, 2013 (UTC)
From what I gather the Fallout 1 & 2 dialogues might not have been done correctly. And I already created the project.--Ant2242 (talk) 17:57, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

GECKanon[]

I didn't meant to block his TP rights, so thanks for going ahead and unblocking him. I'm sure he had good reasons, though, but like I said to him, the block was a pre-caution because it makes me very very nervous to see that much information being removed without anything being added back in. I'm sure he has his reasons, though, so we'll see. I just wish he would have went ahead and replaced the information first, so I could have taken the edit into good-faith. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 18:47, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Enclave Soldier Data[]

I removed the data because it failed to factor in the agility and endurance bonuses caused by their armor. I've been going through and factoring in the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses granted from armor/clothing on NPC pages, and I usually just correct the information that didn't include the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses. However, I felt that due to the magnitude of the stats, it would be easier to just remove the incorrect information altogether from the Enclave Soldier page and add in the correct info later to avoid any confusion I might have while making the corrections. I would have put in an edit summary, but I usually run out of space writing them. 69.125.134.190 18:51, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Okay. I was going to add in the correct data after I finished correcting all the Fallout 3 characters that needed correcting. I think I might need to do the same with Brotherhood Soldiers too since they have a lot of data which may not factor in any changes to the Soldiers' S.P.E.C.I.A.L. I'll make sure to use an edit summary for that. 69.125.134.190 19:05, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Nico and Obama[]

Nico was brought in after obama was chat banned. Nico was therefore used to circumvent a ban. Given that both users, combined have a total of three bans between them, at least two for the same thing I figure it might be safe to just give 'em both the full third strike level ban and wikiban the ban circumventing sock, perhaps. 69 Anon[]

Thinking just to be on the safe side it might be a good idea to put a notice on the top of his talk page indicating he's a trusted user and yourself or one of the other carts should be consulted before any blocks.... I've had a few questions occasionally raised by a few patrollers who are suprised that we have a "Trusted anon" and freak out when they see him correcting a lot of info. Ah, I see. The last time I read through his talk, after you told me he was trusted the first time, I read that he said he couldn't create an account, and I hadn't seen anything since then. If it's a matter of him not wanting to, then I completely agree that he shouldn't have to. I have a spare 10 mins or so, should I whip up a notice real quick? -- GOTW User | Talk 22:08, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Dialogue Trees[]

I think you'll actually like what I've come up with. I'm working on an example at this very moment. But I've found a way to discern from the G.E.C.K. how to pull the dialogue trees and the order in which every dialogue option is presented; whether NPC or PC. I was really worried at first, because when I tried exporting the dialogue files, it was exporting all of the dialogue files, which pretty much crashed the G.E.C.K. on request, and filled up a notepad in my New Vegas directory full of nonsense and gibberish. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 21:59, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

-sigh- Looks like this won't be happening. I've been coming to terms that the G.E.C.K. can be a piece of junk sometimes.
  • For my example, I tried bringing up Captain Parker. In doing so, under his dialogue tree tab, his dialogue was mixed in with the dialogue from the robo-brain that you can splice at Big MT. And only that robobrain, oddly enough.
  • I had only loaded up the New Vegas .esm. None of the DLC Masters were loaded in.
  • When trying to export Captain Parker's dialogue, and only his dialogue, it also included the dialogue from Dhatri, Alexander, the robobrain, etc. etc. etc., leaving the whole text dump in my directory a huge mess. Not as huge of a mess as just using the dialogue export tool in the main menu, but still a mess nevertheless.
  • Even using the filter options, Captain Parker's topics are not in order. His first topic that always comes up is over killing Keith being a mess. Not only this, but the PC conversation points are condensed and no longer accurate to how they're portrayed in-game.

Soooo... yeah. I had hoped I was onto something, but it turns out the limitations involved with the G.E.C.K. run pretty deep. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 23:40, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Talk Page notice[]

I know a notice would be more convenient to admins/moderators, but I'm still going to be stubborn and reaffirm what I said on my talk page a while back that the validity of any information posted is not determined by who's posting it. As long as the information I'm putting in can be verified, or I can provide a reason as to why I'm removing content that I've found to be false which can also be checked, I really don't see a reason to have a notice saying I'm a "trusted user". I don't like using edit summaries because I usually don't have space to explain anything and just end up saying "This is wrong. This is wrong" without being able to provide any reason why, and this is really the only issue I see with having my edits being reverted or me being blocked. If there's anything anyone can take away from what I've done on the wiki, particularly focusing the issue with The Surgeon, A Wanderer, etc. when I first started editing (the whole thing with the actor bases), it's that it's probably a better idea for admins/moderators to ask why an edit has been made on a user's or a subject's talk page instead of assuming that a page has been vandalized/false information was inserted. I know it's routine to be suspicious of large amounts of info being edited out by anonymous users and to be suspicious of race, special, karma, or other infobox changes by anonymous users, but it's far more important to give whoever made the edit a chance to explain themselves instead of relying on blocking or reverting because it's quite possible that whoever mad the edit could be right. 69.125.134.190 02:15, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

G.E.C.K. Cont.[]

It seems I've run into another snag. I've been going through the clutter folders, and that whenever I bring up an object and I go into its world model, even rotating it slightly causes for the ground to appear, with the object in question clipping partly through it. Let me show you what I mean:

Hey J, was wondering if I can run something by you. Someone posted on the Timeline's talk page that there are two entries for the scientists clearing out the ship that later became Rivet City, one in 2237 and one in 2239. I checked the GECK and Pinkerton says it happened "about 40 years ago," which would suggest 2237, but there was some concern that maybe he was rounding. I think we agreed that it shouldn't be 2239 (because a holotape in April 2239 says they already had trading, security, and people by then and that would be a lot to occur in a couple of months) but we can't agree on where it should actually go. Thanks for the go-ahead guys. --TwoBearsHigh-Fiving Intercom01 05:22, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Hm. That's a bit different. Doing that pulls the link completely out of the IbValue template and puts it into all the different infobox templates that use IbValue. It's doable, but we'll lose the direct links (and tooltips) that we now have to each different games' currencies. We'd have to link to the main currency page instead, like you suggest. That's kinda counter to the main idea for making the IbValue template in the first place. Let me ponder if there are any other solutions. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 19:28, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Maps[]

I do see that they don't really offer that much information, but I think it's better to have them there than to not have them, I feel it aids the page enough to offer a view of the interior map of a place, even if it's small. If you strongly feel it's a waste to add them, I could give some of the smaller ones a miss, but for the most part I think they should be there.

Slavers[]

I noticed that the image for the Slaver (Fallout 3) page was just one guy, so I attempted to create a better image that includes more than just one NPC and was taken in-game. I also got an image for the "inhabitants" section of the Paradise Falls page. Would you mind taking a look at them and possible upload them if you think they'd fit the articles? Here they are: Cloud 1, cloud 2

Thanks! And I've changed my mind about the SPECIAL. I now think it's better to have them in one box instead of two like it is on the Arkansas page. I doesn't look as confusing as I thought it could. I'm still not sure how much info we need (i.e. if we really need both base and modified stats), but if we do end up using one, I think it would be best to use the one that appears in-game (modified). 69.125.134.190 21:16, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Caravan merchants[]

Jan, I am far from sure about this page: Caravan merchant (Core Region). It contains very little information, and I think that I should either:

  1. Make it into a disambiguation page for all major Core Region trading companies; i.e. Far Go Traders, Crimson Caravan and the Water Merchants
  2. Delete it, and put the contents of the page into the three trading company articles I mentioned earlier.

What do you think? We've never done a disambiguation for factions before, have we?

Inter wiki assistance.[]

Hello,

First, i want to say this is one of the most complete wiki's i have ever seen, so good job.

Second, and directly to the point, i am looking for help for Wikinswers.

We handle questions people ask on all sorts of subjects, and we have become overwhelmed to the amount of questions. One of the category's that has become abandoned it the Fallout category, and its sub-categories. I know this is your main wiki, and im not asking to focus on ours. What i am asking for is help in a subject the editors here specialize in.

A way this can help us both is we will allow questions regarding a larger answer to have links to articles here that would help.

If you or any editors wish to help, we would be happy for the assistance.

Thanks and happy editing. -Cheatcodechamp (talk) 19:33, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Also, the other admins want want me to let you know that the Fallout answers can join the Wikianswers network if they wish, you can learn more here: [1]

Not sure about your logic here. The only time boss is considered proper is whenever it's being used in the context of blue collar work titles such as in mining. • I guess I'll just try to ignore the fact he is atempting to bait me. There is as yet no rule that says I have to answear every message from every user. He has been asked not to contact me. As he continues it just builds a spam folder illustrating his intent to harass my account.

This whole thing is just pissing me off. I asked him not to contact me. If this was chat the topic would have been forced to be dropped. His member status is not the issue. His insitance on attempting to contact me is.

Let sleeping dogs lie or don't poke the bear comes to mind.

Another Question[]

I am active on another wiki and I might become the next admin. It's embarrassing to other people to see my past immaturity. I have changed, but it gives me a bad look as if I'm always like that. Thanks, VB (talk) 00:31, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Thank You[]

Thank you very much! I guess people will wonder why there's a blank page when I'm a big fallout fan... But still, thanks again. :) VB (talk) 04:43, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Patroller Request[]

Hi. Simply put, I’m asking for additional patroller rights for this wiki. I’ve been actively editing for about two months now, and I never like playing the trust card, but I do think it’s safe to say that I’ll take the position seriously and will do my best the patroller abilities to better this wiki.

I know that undoing edits and leaving edit summaries is preferable, and in case of vandals, using the edit summary “vandal” should be used to notify an admin before rolling back edits. I check up on recent changes fairly frequently and will have no trouble checking individual edits and marking edits as patrolled.

I understand that there are already many users with patroller rights, so the addition of me will not only increase this number, but worse, upset the perfect artistic nature of the five-column two-row patroller box; however, I feel that I have a good understanding of the G.E.C.K. and always check it before reverting an edit/edits and will continue to do so. I will never report someone as a precaution nor will I take one person’s word over another’s. It simply comes down to what’s in the G.E.C.K..

It’s also pretty obvious that I’ve only been actively editing for what some might consider a short amount of time of two months; however this is twice the minimum requirement, and I’ve been editing quite frequently and recently passed the 1500 edits mark, most being on main pages. (From what I’ve read on abusing multiple accounts, I’ve gathered that the user what matters not the account which is where I’m getting the edit number from (combined from my anonymous edits))

I also know I’m not the most outspoken, active, or interesting member of the community, but my reason behind not talking to everyone/using chat is because I focus first on content.

With all this in mind, I hope you can consider what I’ve said, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I really didn't know I wrote so much. Sorry 69.l25 (talk) 08:04, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Shadow[]

I can try. How do I go about it? JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 22:16, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Thought Chomps was okay for shadow; tried him from a few directions and that one turned out best. Yeah, I could zoom in a bit more, I'll just crop them after. I thought that may be needed but didn't want to keep doing it of it was not needed.
I'll be giving the images a break for today anyway, see if I can have better luck tomorrow. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 23:12, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Dead as a doornail[]

We do still list dead character's voice actors though. I noticed when I was going through actors in the Audio Project. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 23:56, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Bethesda Raider[]

I was thinking of adding a new page on the Bethesda Ruins raider boss, the last of the boss type raider characters, but after what happened after I added in the Raider leader (Springvale school) page, I'm not sure if I should put the page in.

This character:

  • Has a unique editor ID "BethRuinsLvlRaiderBoss"
  • Has higher health than a standard raider
  • Uses the RaiderSpecial actor base, meaning higher health (as mentioned above) as well as heavy weapons (Flamer/Missile launcher)
  • Is in possession of their own key which unlocks a nearby safe (From this character is the only way to obtain the key)
  • Is in possession of a skill book
  • Has a unique inventory (as stated above)
  • And of course, they are an in-game NPC

There may be some info about them on terminals, so I can look in to that.

Thanks :3[]

Thanks very much for that, Jspoel. Take care! ButterflyKiss εïз 06:42, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Keys[]

Are keys drop-able once added onto the keyring? Can't check right now, so I wanted to ask you. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:13, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

That's what I thought. Thanks! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:32, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Respawning[]

"Use Base Data" is checked, and that means that the base data from the possible raider models is used. This means they respawn. 69.l25 (talk) 20:20, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Project Tags[]

Can I rollback some edits to put back the project tag or will it start a ruckus? . Just made an edit summary explaining for Harris Smith about what I'm doing. 69.l25 (talk) 00:02, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Template[]

That example on my user page just lists all the possible stats so I can trouble shoot the template. I really doubt you would ever see anywhere near that many on a page. I agree though, that we could make the section collapsed on page load. That would probably be best, and a good solution to add the info, yet not make the infobox too long. Also, it's not a change to the infobox template itself. It's a auxiliary template that doesn't require use at all, if that's desired. I'm still working out the kinks anyways. I'll look at using / instead of the Level to see if that is readable.

As far as project tags, if they're a problem on mobile devices, then they should be moved from the top. I know Wikipedia has theirs at the top, but I've never browsed that on a mobile, so I don't know how they look there. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 14:13, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Mobile[]

Two sets of 2 images for you. This is from Harold. As you can see, the tags take up the whole screen in both regular mobile view, and the game guides app.

Simple suggestion - move the tags to the bottom. Problem solved? Agent c (talk) 16:50, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Even without those tags, our pages are bad on mobile - marginally better in the game guides app.

The Hub in Mobile - Note the Game icons in the 4th pic.

The Hub in GameGuides

(Just delete all these when you're done. No sense keeping/licensing/categorizing them).

Ideal solution for me would be to have some sort of switch we could use so we could hide templates that dont work in mobile from the mobile experience, and maybe substitute in some simplified templates that do. That however would probably require wikia to do some high end stuff... Maybe MarkVa @ Wikia will have some ideas? Agent c (talk) 17:53, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

The problem with that is we dont have the obvious call to action to encourage people to edit... Maybe through thats not a huge loss, particularly if we can offset it somewhere else. Agent c (talk) 19:26, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

I just checked Wikipedia. They have all their Mbox notices on the article page, but their project tags are on the article talk page. I think we should do that. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 22:25, July 16, 2013 (UTC)
Check out this article where you see the mbox notice about it being a current event on the article page, but all the project notices are on the article talk page. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 23:57, July 16, 2013 (UTC)
Technically, moving the project templates to the article talk page is the easier to do. We may have to make some major changes to the Mbox template to have it display multiple projects, since the project template adds the cats, too. Right now, the project box template can only add one cat. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 00:45, July 17, 2013 (UTC)

Recent Edits[]

Just wanted to explain some recent edits that I made real quick that you reverted. Basically the Enclave scientists aren't involved in any quests; instead, they just happen to be there. I said more about this on Rocksalt's talk page. As for Malleus, that's just an audio placeholder NPC, and it's unknown how related to his intended appearance that model is. 69.l25 (talk) 20:02, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Try checking the respawn box in the Springvale boss's NPC chart. You can't, right? That's because that data is being pulled from the actor base and that's why you can't manipulate it. It's also the same reason why you can't manipulate their model or traits. 69.l25 (talk) 20:16, July 16, 2013 (UTC)
Are you okay with leaving the quests out for the scientists and leaving the respawning keys note as well? 69.l25 (talk) 01:32, July 17, 2013 (UTC)

Vandal alert[]

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/50.137.234.185 --FFIX (talk) 23:29, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Yup, I saw it just a second after I left the message. --FFIX (talk) 23:29, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Stuff[]

The Enclave scientists do appear in some of the Enclave camps across the wasteland which are in locations where quests do not take place. However, some of the camps only spawn after the completion of The Waters of Life, so I could see how the quest and the scientists could be related.

As for the raiders, I tested it out and got the same result as you: the bosses don't respawn. It must have something to do with the Springvale interior map as even the generic raiders (i.e. LvlRaiderGun), which will respawn outside and in all other places, don't respawn inside the school.

On a final note, I added a note on some characters' pages about how they are one of the three characters with "Very Good" Karma. As I've said on my userpage, I won't have the time to edit pretty soon, so I'd just like to see some feedback on the notability of that info before I go. 69.l25 (talk) 17:26, July 18, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll be here for just a little while longer though. And I was thinking of adding a note to the "Very Evil" New Vegas characters. I found four (Cook-Cook, Duke (Fallout: New Vegas), Mortimer, and Vulpes Inculta). Do you know off of your head if I missed any? I'm just double checking before I add in anything. 69.l25 (talk) 20:27, July 18, 2013 (UTC)

I added NCR because Caesar was formerly an NCR citizen as well as a Follower.

Nathaniel Vargas' TP[]

Howdy J, just wondering why ya added the Stats project, audio project, and audio needed templates to nathaniel vargas' Talkpage. Seems sorta silly to have it there, or at least it seems that way to me.. Richie9999 (talk) 17:39, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hey J, was wondering if you could do something about 213.233.92.238 for this odd edit. Thanks, Paladin117>>iff bored; 16:13, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Nevermind, Energy X blocked him. Paladin117>>iff bored; 16:22, July 20, 2013 (UTC)
