Brotherhood Outcasts and grammar[]

The anon isn't correct in that edit. The subject of the sentence is the group, which is singular. Saying 'the group are engaged in x activity' is incorrect, so the sentence should read "The Outcasts play a major role in Operation: Anchorage, in which a group of Outcasts in the Outcast Outpost under the command of Protector McGraw is trying to acquire advanced military tools..." Hey there, besides wanting to see that no-removal rule for myself, I would appreciate being able to delete irrelevant (off-this-wiki subject), insulting/harassing (e.g. "fuck(ing)", "dumbass", "bitch", and a generally nasty tone) posts on my talk page. That argument took place six years ago, involves a community that I left nearly four years ago, and when asked to elaborate on it by a member of this community I never received a reply. I've actually tried to hide the conversation using the Collapsible content template before blanking the page, but no luck there. My point is, this is a matter of appearances now. Why?[]

Why lock the page for all anons just because of the behavior of one (and one registered user, who could have been the same person anyway)? It makes more sense to talk to the violating user and if need be stop them from editing, instead of making it so no anon can edit the page. Lincoln's repeater[]

I am not sure it's the Lincoln's repeater. It was the only image left in the image overview Digital provided. The weapon that was left on the Fallout Shelter page without image was the repeater so I added the two together. I was going to take a closer look at it later on tonight. It is possible that Fallout Shelter has a "This Machine" weapon, and the repeater uses the hunting rifle image. Probably the case. Jspoel 20:41, June 21, 2015 (UTC)

What should I do?[]

I get it, you make edits and risk them being reverted. I'm not offended, I just don't understand in this instant my edit was reverted. I've decided to take an more active approached to this wikia.

I noticed that the the Tesla-Beaton Prototype was written as Tesla-Beaton prototype, and not Tesla-Beaton Prototype in much article. Since it's written in the game as Tesla-Beaton Prototype in the game, that's what I corrected it too.

I came straight to you instead of that user because I'm new to this particular wikia and I'm not quite sure how to approach this with other user. Thank you for reading this and your eventual reply.

User Conflict[]

Back in November, you rightfully decided to step in as a mediator for the conflict seen between me and the Agent c. This can be seen with this quote:

I agreed with the principle, but I ultimately disagreed with my eventual ban in the conflict, as I was not the only one at fault in what you had already deduced as a conflict between two users. But I grew from that incident, and since then, I have been doing my best to remain neutral in my interactions with Agent c, even though, at times, I have to bite my tongue. Hard.

However, this same courtesy has not been extended to me in return, for quite some time now. Since your mediation, my talk-page has received additional bad faith comments and assumptions towards my character, and now, I am coming to you, because his conflict towards me is currently seeking to derail a forum that I recently started, that embraces what should be fun and collaboration.

I have remained as neutral as possible, and I have attempted to be as respectful as possible. But as seen here, not only is he making assumptions that he cannot back up, but he is also preaching prejudice, is making up information (such as by saying that I had adhered to a bureaucratic decision only, which I most certainly did not), has outright lied (such as him saying that a user's talk-page can only be used in emergencies, which can easily be checked and verified as false), and is currently talking down to reputable users of this wiki that have dedicated years of their life to the betterment of this wiki. His beef with me and Tag I understand; but frankly, I am disgusted that this attitude is also being extended to Kastera, who has been, and still is a loyal member of Nukapedia and its sister wikis/affiliates.

I am asking for you to please look into this matter. I have been made so tired over the past couple of years, because a single user has been hounding me over almost everything I do - both on and off of the wiki. I have put in a good faith effort to remain civil with this user, and in return, I have essentially had my face spit upon.

I have not derailed the forum. I have however questioned a vote and the process, which not only am I entitled to do, its my job.

My posts have been entirely on topic and have not discussed Leon's character at all. Although Leon and I have had conflicts in the past, it would be remiss of me in following out my duty to not do so simply because he is involved.

I have not said a word about Kastera. However, I do admit to be being mistaken about Kastea's level of participation here.

I have not "spat on" Leon's face. I have simply asked questions and raised points; I have also indicated that a non member of this community cannot be a part of community consensus. I have even suggested that he can address my concern by placing comments by non members of this community in a different section.

I am actually holding my tounge by not offering a theory as to why Leon has decided to take this track, nor offering a narrative of them.

My responses and points have been straight and factual, and is up to Leon if he wants to address the points within. A previous user conflict however does not preclude one of the participants asking questions and acting in good faith within the forum, and doing their job as an administrator. • As can be seen by this comment, in which only 3 users, with the sole exception of Chad, had made their opinions known, Chad was not referring to a single "...person," but instead, to "...people..." - In a plural sense, Chad was, indeed, referring to more than one person.

1. "My posts have been entirely on topic and have not discussed Leon's character at all."

• When I was speaking of him making assumptions towards my character, I was referring to his talk-page messages to me. You will notice that I made mention of that before getting into the forum conflict.

1. "Tagaziel has completely dissasociated himself with us, refuses to talk to us about interwiki issues, and his profile says its only in use for emergencies."

• This is an outright falsehood. On his user-pages on both The Vault and on Nukapedia, you can personally check yourself, and can verify that nowhere is this ever said. Not only is he participating in an interwiki matter right now, but if you check through his talk-page histories, you will see that nowhere has he ever made it where he could only be contacted in emergencies, unless he was away from the wiki for a short period of time. And even then, I do not believe he has ever had that statement on his talk-page(s).

1. "This is about respect for us. He isn't a part of this community, he chose to estrange himself from it."

• Chad does not get to make this decision. While Tagaziel chose to go to The Vault, he is within his full rights to return to Nukapedia whenever he wants. Chad does not rule this wiki, and he does not get to dictate who and who is not a part of our community.

1. "I also have reason to believe he is employed in some way by curse. He was described by a developer working on Shadowrun Hong Kong as "Our man at curse"."

• Not only is this a huge assumption, but if it turns out to be true, Chad just broke our policies by revealing personal information about another user. Regardless of our conflict, this one needs to be seriously looked into.

1. "you pledged to accept the bureaucrats decision on it (which you have reneged on)"

• This is also outright false. I insist on a quote, because I know for a fact that the quote does not exist. I am absolutely tired of having words put into my mouth. I only went to the bureaucrats for a preliminary opinion. Nothing else, and nothing more.

I wont be addressing most of the points because I have no desire to turn this into an actual user conflict. However, I cannot let the following stains on my character survive unchallenged.

Tagaziel has, as Leon conceeds, indicated his profile here is for emergency use only. He has refused contact when discussing issues of plagarism in the past, and when a user this week attempted to contact him on his talk page over there found it protected. When attempted to be contacted via other users he refused contact.

He is of course welcome to return. Until he actually participates as a member of this community however he cannot be described as one.

Public information is not personal private information. If Tagaziel has issues with him being associated with curse, his correct place of Redress is with Aidan and the other staff at Hairbrained Schemes LLC who published this.

If quoting a publicly available piece of information is "personal information", every user on this wiki is guilty of the same by using each others name.

Weapon/Outfits IDs (Fallout shelter)[]

Hello Richie9999, sorry if here is not the right place to do this, but maybe you can help me anyway. Well ... it's more a suggestion that a question. The thing is, how Fallout Shelter has come also to Android, there were a lot of people who managed read the game datas and even hack the Save Games. So for the inclusion of a weapon or outfit in FOS Saves there is necessary to inform the weapon/outfit ID. The ID who is needed to be informed is in text, so the proto parameter don't want handle it. Anyway, my suggestion at all is to add a specific ID Parameter to handle the FOS IDs. Or maybe there is still a parameter, if it is, maybe could you tell me what is the parameter?

That was much a major battle as the Capital Wasteland conflict (as well as other conflicts that are missing like the Brotherhood-Viper War or the 2241 Enclave conflict from Fallout 2. Regarding the user:TheModernSoviet, upon seeing their contributions I don't think they did that "blanking" on purpose if you could just recheck his/her past edits, must be a misunderstanding. My theory is that they planned to copy their old edit to the new ones but instead accidentally copy pasted the entire previous revision. He's a Demon[]

I've listened to the song at least 100 times, it sounds more like "He'll call me late at nine." but according to every single Lyrics site it says "He'll call me late at night." Only going off the 20+ websites that all say the exact same thing, I hear nine as well, always thought that was the lyric. That's cool though, I was a roadie for a smaller band for a while. It wasn't just A bad source, it was all of them, every single Lyrics site I went to. Re:Nuka-Cola Machine FO4[]

Machines are still randomly generated. They can generate Nuka-Cola, Nuka-Cherry, Quantum and empty bottles and have them set in the compartment of the machine. NV engine bugs[]

A while back I added to the New Vegas bugs page two bugs relating to weapons with the 'Ignores DR/DT' effect and explosive weapon impact damage - the latter has already been mentioned on the NV missile launcher page.

As for the Ignores DR/DT bug, the real proof is by looking at the JIP/LN NVSE plugin - the guy maintaining that NVSE plugin actually fixed both of the aforementioned bugs (check version 50.80 under the changelog). If you have the PC version of New Vegas try installing it, there's a huge difference in how the ripper and chainsaw perform against targets.

You can also test the explosive weapon impact fix with a fat man - load it with a timed nuke, try scoring a direct hit on something before it explodes - the fat man should do 400 impact damage, but if you don't have the JIP plugin installed it won't deal any impact damage at all. --ffs (talk) 10:28, August 31, 2017 (UTC)

Wikia's forced addition of videos to the wiki[]

As you may be aware, Wikia/Fandom have added a number of videos to pages on the wiki that they have self authored. Although the consensus view so far seems to be that these are not to our standards, I encourage you to view these for yourself and make up your own mind.

Okay, I think its clear that going ahead with a meeting is a good idea. At this stage I would like to open the floor to agenda items. We have the following things to discuss.

Theories[]

I did mention Banfield's prejudice and bias. However, my problem was in Paladin117 claiming Banfield admitted his theory was due to the prejudice and bias. Banfield never made any such admission about his theory. While he does say earlier he fears ghouls and believes in discrimination, using it to claim he "admits his theory is due to prejudice" due to it is baseless. Nukapedia and Fandom/Wikia talks[]

Apologies for the impersonal nature of this message, as I'm relaying the same thing to admins and people who have previously expressed a view on featured video. Forgive me if I tell you some things you already know.

We have a call scheduled with Wikia this Friday. We need your input - and the input from as many others as possible. We're hoping to settle once and for all what our relationship is, if it can be salvaged, and what the future should be, as until we settle these featured video can't be settled.

User issues today[]

Hi Richie,

I am loath to escalate a drama but some statements have been said on the forum and in discord today that we feel we need to draw to your attention.

After the vote became clear I let you know what our intentions were vis a vie exodus. As agreed in community vote last year, the Exodus platform is available to extend the wiki into areas that cannot/will not support, such as the Pip View project. The Pip View project doesn’t link to anywhere but Nuakpedia, and is intended to be something a Nukapedia visitor would pop into, and then pop back into the main wiki, as we would intend any future project in this vein.

The only remaining elements of “Exodus” is the Interactive/Simtek wiki (Where PipView lives), and the nukapedia email addresses. The mirror wiki and coordinating wiki have been removed permanently, and have been gone for some time. There is no intention at this stage to add more “Exodus” sites, although if there are wiki projects that cannot be accommodated on Wikia, they are welcome to be hosted through Interactive.

As you know we respect the community’s vote not to move/fork/etc. As we have said, we’ve moved on to other projects, and when we get away from some of the drama that seems to follow certain people, we are actually enjoying getting some productive work done in the other projects that we’re working on under the umbrella of a private company we both operate.

That company continues to operate Interactive.nukapedia.wiki for and on behalf of the Nukapedia community. We hope this relationship can continue.

That said. We do take exception to the behaviour of Leon in Forums and discord and to a lesser extent Silent in discord today, to the point where we feel we need to make our concerns officially known in a formal complaint.

When we approached with a suggestion with some sort of relationship or link to a directory of guilds that we are considering developing (outside of the Exodus system) this was met with accusations that we were somehow trying to circumvent the rules, or force an affiliation.

As This was the initial conversation about such an issue here and we simply made an offer to work with the wiki, Claiming that we were “Circumventing process” by actually making a suggestion in the first stage of the decision making process on Nukapedia is completely nonsensical. That such a suggestion might be seen as forcing an affiliation is equally non sensical. Given Leon’s history on the wiki, particularly with affiliated sites, we struggle to see how this could be a good faith misunderstanding.

If we go ahead with the project, we’re actually looking at a number of non-exclusive links we can make with the wider Fallout community, we hope Nukapedia can be part of that, if it chooses to be. If not, thats fine too.

That Leon would then follow this up with a demand for transparency (when in making the suggestion at a very early stage we were being completely transparent) and some sort of accusation about some secret cabal of admins making decisions for and on behalf of the wiki is alarmist, and again, we struggle to see how he can make these in good faith.

That there would then be suggestions in Discord that we are somehow trying to take over the wiki, or force exodus through this unrelated project we find particularly distasteful. We made an offer, in good faith, to link to a proposed project (if it is completed) that might solve a problem the wiki is having, and answered some good faith questions about it. Nothing more. I remind you neither of us voted for Exodus to take on Nukapedia, and suggested that UESP would be a better partner.

If we wanted to “Take Over” the wiki, we’d simply reboot the mirror of Nukapedia, update it, and start approaching editors directly, as we are legally entitled to do. The fact that you haven’t received an invitation I hope should help convince you that we’re not doing that… and if we were it would hardly be a secret.

We know that Leon does not speak in any sort of official capacity for the wiki; and that his actions and seemingly manufactured outrage stand in contrast to his repeated claims to have no personal interest/non involvement in the wiki.

However, we cannot stand for repeated accusations of bad faith on our part. We made a good faith offer; the offer was twisted out of any sense of reality from what the offer was and we were accused of bad faith and rule circumvention, without any sort of official challenge

We would like to retain our relationship with Nukapedia, but if doing so is going to invite back the drama that we were trying to escape, then we may have to revisit our plans to continue to host interactive.

I hope that you see the value in our offer to host non Wikia compatible content, and like me look forward to the imminent availability of PipView. However if it no longer serves Nukapedia a purpose please let us know.

I want to ask you to help resolve a conflict with Patroller Great Mara on the High Ground article. The disagreement stems from whether or not the character P.A.M. should be referred to on the page as "it" or "she/her."

I have made the point that P.A.M., as well as all other robot characters, are addressed in accordance to their implied genders throughout the wiki as well as in the game itself. Additionally, their respective articles make use of gender-specific pronouns, rather than "it," as the noted Patroller has insisted on using for this page in particular.

On the events that to led to my Discord ban, a questioning and a defence[]

As you'll well aware, I was banned from the Discord server, I'd like to make a solid defence on why that ban was ludicrous, incoherent to server rules and poorly executed. First, let's give it a look on the curse of events that led to the ban itself:

• On the Editing Bullpen, L84TEA and LovelyGaslight are talking about Gas disappearing, Gas says he had the room muted.
• I make a joke saying that's something a /d user would do, using the word "degenerate", if I did insulted someone on that joke, it was Gas, and he took no offence, remembering that I got banned for insulting gas in the past.
• Gas also makes a /d joke, the conversation moves on as it was just a joke.
• One hour and a half-ish after that happened, the user Saxheel calls Cassie to check the joke I made, and my joke only, not Gas' for also making a /d joke. I was the only one to receive an warning for Cass.
• Gas and I start to question on why the reason of the warning because the joke was made hours before and no one complained or warned, Sax had no purpose on doing that since it was whining and necroposting, furthermore he never complained about /d jokes before, and as someone who's in the server for almost three years, you'll se more /d jokes than any other jokes on that server and none of them seemed to bother him until that point.
• The argument moves from the bullpen to the common room on Cass' request, it lasts for a few minutes until everyone starts speaking about Dead Island, the argument is over.
• More than two hours after the original joke and almost an hour after the first argument that was now over, Bleep pings me on the Editorial Bullpen to issue me an warning, I say that it was kinda late because the argument was done, Bleep agrees it was too late but insists on warning anyway.
• I, again, start to question the reasons of the warning and Bleep says to move over to the Common Room, in response I say no because that argument should be over.
• Bleep, although I request to end that argument there, moves to the Common Room, disrespecting a clear Rule 9 request and necroposting once more.
• I question again the reason of the warning, Bleep says he's gonna ban me if I question again, which is pretty much authoritarian and shows how some users who claim to be bringing positive changes to the community are threatening bans because an user tried to defend himself.
• I ask if /d jokes are now banned, I ask if people talking about killing commies is banned too now, since talk about the extermination of a group based on political opinions is far worse than making a joke about a discussion board, Bleep's response is a ban threat.
• I make a joke on White Genocide, Bleep bans me and says I was talking about the Holodomor, which I never said it was fake or it didn't happened, all I said it was used by nazis as propaganda, which, is also an historical fact.

Now let's go trough the problems with the reasons why I got banned, according to Bleep himself:

1. Flamebaiting: The definition of flamebaiting is: "a message posted to a public Internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking", which it wasn't my intent, it was a /d user joke, even /d users make /d jokes and no one got banned over it in almost three years of Discord Server, there's no rules against making jokes against /d, I also would like to remember that I defended /d users many times when Gunny showed up defending to just terminate /d completely. Not to mention that I already made regular wiki jokes and no one got upset about it.
2. Prolonged instigation of toxic environment: this is completely bollocks, Sax brought it up an hour and a half after the joke, when the conversation was way passed that message. When Bleep brought it up again I asked to end that argument and not move over to the Common Room, Bleep insisted and moved to the Common Room, interrupting the conversation that was happening between users to issue an already given warning. At some point on that conversation I even say I was gonna be blamed for starting drama, even though I was the one asking for Bleep to stop.
3. Lack of self awareness: If someone lacks self awareness is Bleep, every violation he pointed to justify my ban was violated by himself, furthermore, where in the rules says "You can't have lack of self awareness", we're just making up rules so we can ban people we don't like now?
4. Blatant disrespect of historically acknowledged genocides: If Bleep thinks White Genocide is historically acknowledged he should study History a little bit more.
5. Insulting users: once again, I did not insulted any users, if someone had the right to feel insulted that was Gas, not Sax, and Gas took no offence and joked about it as well.

Now let's move over to the message Bleep left on my talk page:

This is truly interesting because staff on the discord usually say past behavior is irrelevant when checking for rule violation, I'd like to know which behavior is that since I was inactive for almost two weeks before that ban happened, and before being inactive I was not in Nukapedia, so the reason for my ban as long term pattern behavior is a first on Nukapedia previously "past doesn't matter" golden rule that was used many times to justify the permanence of a few users on chat, including some that are now banned for disrupting the chat and trolling. Bleep was the one who resurrected a dead argument, brought to the common room and invented rules to ban me, even though all I did was defend myself after asking to stop the argument because an issue was already warned by a mod that's far more chat active than Bleep.

Having said that, I truly hope you can revise and check the conversation that day. I'm not gonna lie that I am very much disappointed with Nukapedia, admins that barely speak can just show up to resurrect dead arguments and invent rules to ban people, an admin that only edits on the wiki to make forum posts "to change things" in order to gather popularity and try to revert his overall irrelevance to the chat or to the wiki, an irrelevance that resulted in the past on a vote to remove said admin's rights for inactivity.

Hope the situation is evaluated and sorted out by more efficient and chat active staff,

Cheers Richie. Yeah, you’re right about people being abrasive but I feel the same way when people treat my edits without any respect. I’ll take everything you’ve said into absolute consideration. I’m a pretty nice guy to talk too, even though I have Dwarfism (and other complex conditions) and well, Dwarves are renown for their destructive criticism. I’m excellent at researching into everything but I tend to forget how people will treat my research in general terms. I suppose it’s what Great Mara said “grain of salt” —- take it lightly and treat it as such.

I hope to improve my behaviour on here and elsewhere but I’m extremely useful if a certain task requires my experience and abilities.

I’m actually wanting to avoid edit wars altogether but talking it out is something I tend to avoid as to avoid conflict altogether. I’ll bare it mind that a good conversation is always useful, even with a talkative folk such as myself.

Holotapes vs Terminal Entries[]

The confusion seems to be hardware vs software. I see the content as text files and computer programs, with any computer able to read it, whether it is an actual terminal or a PIP-Boy. Call to Action[]

There have been quite a few sweeping changes to the wiki lately, and now that the Unified Community Platform has come to fruition here, it's more important than ever for our leadership to get together and inspire innovative changes for the next generation of wiki editors/readers.

As someone who is somewhat inactive myself, I understand how life gets in the way, and I'll fully understand if many of you are unable to commit, but I'd still like to try my best to appeal to you all in getting involved in a few of our currently active projects; especially so since rights-users participating in our discussions/votes are at an all-time low, and many internal decisions are having to be made between a select few users, which is bad for building consensus on important matters.

As such, I would like to ask for you all to look into two of our most important projects right now, as it would mean a lot to me and the wiki if as many people as possible got directly involved in helping shape our future:

1. The Vault Academy is a program for the training and acclimation of new and even veteran users, training them on how to get involved in the various facets of the wiki, as well as helping them build bonds with their fellow users. The program has kicked off in a big way, and we are in desperate need of more rights-users to sign on as mentors, as we're having to share multiple mentees between each mentor. If you're looking to leave your mark on the wiki, then signing onto TVA program will be your way of doing so.
2. As a minor update, we now have a new plagiarism point of contact. Should you suspect plagiarized content is at play, please get into point with the user FDekker who will be the initial handler of all such cases going forward.
3. We have an upcoming meeting of the minds coming up on the 20th of this month, and we need people to come forth and pitch their ideas for adapting to the recent UCP changes, and to possibly adopt some of the ideas that our new datamining friends have been pitching to us.

Resigning bureaucrat status[]

After a long talk with Kate, I've decided to resign my bureaucrat status and remain as simply wiki manager and regular admin. She pointed out that this generates a potential conflict of interest, and we'll be discussing other means to move forward and making sure our relations go in the right way.

Giving those rights was not meant to be an official content mod user right handout. It's sort of an upgraded interwiki status, with some more options than just interwiki who can deal with deletions over here that affect on the Russian wiki. He can't apply for admin with it. I wouldn't hand them out to just any Russian wiki user with some status over there. I know him from back when I started out at the end of 2010, he's walked the same path, became bureaucrat. So he's a very trusted and veteran user. I would say he can be considered an ambassador from the Russian sister wiki, with me being the American ambassador over there (I got the same rights there).
