No, we don't have rules against "memey" avatars, just inappropriate or inflammitory ones. You are all good as far as I'm concerned. Good luck with that wiki! Laat the Survivor (talk) 02:31, March 3, 2019 (UTC)

User Rights Request Forum[]

Hi There,

I'm leaving this message to notify you of specific changes to certain sections of the rights request proposal forum on which you've voted. These changes affect the Chat Moderator, Administrator, and Retroactive clause sections and may or may not affect how you voted initially. Please review these changes carefully. I apologize for the impersonal nature of this talkpage message, and would like to state that I appreciate all opinions and feedback having been given, and look forward to the final results of the votes. ---bleep196- (talk) 16:42, May 20, 2019 (UTC)

Ban[]

This is a copy of the message I left on your other talk page, which is apparently not your main page. Oops.

You were banned for two weeks because of the targeted suicide joke, which counts as harassment. While you have admitted that you crossed the line in our discussion, a mere warning is not enough for this behaviour. You should use the next two weeks to reflect on why it is that your comments were inappropriate and, equally important, how your behaviour was unbecoming of a special rights holder.

Before you (rightly) ask, your ban duration is shorter than WIG's because WIG's was too long anyway and would have been shortened if he hadn't been unbanned.

- FDekker talk 18:12, May 22, 2019 (UTC)

Ban (again)[]

Your Discussions moderator rights have been removed as a result of gross rights abuse by leaking sensitive information from moderator channels to third parties on at least one occasion. In addition to a permanent Discord ban, you have been wiki-banned for a month. After a year you will be able to request a review of the Discord part of your ban. You remain able to edit this page.

Nukapedia - Vault Merger: voting has reopened[]

Howdy,

As you may have already seen, voting for the proposed merger has been reopened. Voting was originally postponed so that users could better discuss the proposal, and after a lengthy conversation, that forum has since come to a close. For more information, please see the discussion itself. The post is a little lengthy, but if you are truly interested in making an informed decision, I would recommending read through it.

Because this discussion may or may not affect how you voted initially or your rationale at the time, please review your post so that it reflects your current beliefs accurately.

This is only a notice of open polls and is not soliciting a change of vote. This is a generic talk page message intended only as for any and all voters, so as to avoid any indication of bias towards a particular outcome. Voting is slated to end on 5:01 pm November 1, 2019 (UTC).

The formal vote can be found here.

Thanks,

The Dyre Wolf (talk) 11:15, October 28, 2019 (UTC)

Hijacking[]

I'm writing here so that that post does not get derailed. In response to the note on yesterday's thread, you may want to read the guidelines again. Our rules do not state that only non-OPs can hijack, it is applicable to any user. In addition, the OP was also clear that his new question was not a continuation of the old one, so it was "off-topic" even if it could have related to another. It was for both those reasons that the OP was asked to start another post if he wanted a new conversation or go to the relaxation post that's been used for general conversation of late, which he agreed to. Warning about "being a dick" on /d[]

Please avoid being a dick on discussions, especially if done in an antagonizing manner where you, attempting to act as moderator, are warning people about being a dick. You are correct that your talk is the correct place to do this, but telling someone you will "promptly ignore the message" left is both dickish and in bad faith. It is unbecoming of a moderator. If you feel someone is wrong for failing to understand a question, simply stop at explaining to them why they are wrong. The rest was unnecessary. The Dyre Wolf (talk) 03:59, June 1, 2020 (UTC)

You were subsequently banned for being a dick on discussions shortly after receiving your warning. The warning you received was a "serious" and real one, and the moderation alert page is not a place to grandstand or dispute by using mod powers to unlock and retort. Here is the description of the page, so you can read through it.
To keep this all concise, this thread is for /d moderators and administrators alike to ping /d users here should they become subject to reprimands, since not everyone here is aware that talk-pages exist on the wiki.
This thread is not meant for casual discussion, or for reporting other users/threads, which will be deleted on sight. If you wish to discuss moderation against you further, then please take it to the respective talk-pages, rather than here.
The page exists to help notify /d users who are not always knowledgeable about talk pages, and seeing as part of the previous interaction was stating you would not read a normal talk page message in regards to moderator action, you were notified on the alert thread. As I said on the alert message for the ban, I am notifying admin. Feel free to notify them to appeal, if you believe it merits an appeal. Please do not be a dick on discussions or use your mod powers to undelete comments deleted appropriately. The Dyre Wolf (talk) 04:52, June 1, 2020 (UTC)

Thank you![]

I wanted to say thank you for your vote of confidence on my admin application. It means a lot to me! I will do my best to be a good addition. Thanks again :) -Kate (Kdarrow (talk) 02:42, July 26, 2020 (UTC))

Call to Action[]

There have been quite a few sweeping changes to the wiki lately, and now that the Unified Community Platform has come to fruition here, it's more important than ever for our leadership to get together and inspire innovative changes for the next generation of wiki editors/readers.

As someone who is somewhat inactive myself, I understand how life gets in the way, and I'll fully understand if many of you are unable to commit, but I'd still like to try my best to appeal to you all in getting involved in a few of our currently active projects; especially so since rights-users participating in our discussions/votes are at an all-time low, and many internal decisions are having to be made between a select few users, which is bad for building consensus on important matters.

As such, I would like to ask for you all to look into two of our most important projects right now, as it would mean a lot to me and the wiki if as many people as possible got directly involved in helping shape our future:

  1. The Vault Academy is a program for the training and acclimation of new and even veteran users, training them on how to get involved in the various facets of the wiki, as well as helping them build bonds with their fellow users. The program has kicked off in a big way, and we are in desperate need of more rights-users to sign on as mentors, as we're having to share multiple mentees between each mentor. If you're looking to leave your mark on the wiki, then signing onto TVA program will be your way of doing so.
  2. As a minor update, we now have a new plagiarism point of contact. Should you suspect plagiarized content is at play, please get into point with the user FDekker who will be the initial handler of all such cases going forward.
  3. We have an upcoming meeting of the minds coming up on the 20th of this month, and we need people to come forth and pitch their ideas for adapting to the recent UCP changes, and to possibly adopt some of the ideas that our new datamining friends have been pitching to us.

Thanks for your consideration, and I do hope to hear back from you all! Even if it is just some of you dropping by to check the place out and say a quick hello. 寧靜 Fox 14:12, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

RE: Warning stands[]

You already made it clear you came back to do nothing but cause trouble and stir the pot. As long as you are here and you behave, you have nothing to worry about. However, continued disruptions to threads, minimodding in this case, will result in a ban. If you need a reminder of the rules, you can read through them here. Beyond that, like I said on the notifications thread, if you see any posts which you believe violate rules, you can report them so staff can see. The Dyre Wolf (talk) 04:16, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Short Ban[]

Hi Laat,

I'm leaving you this talkpage message to let you know you have received a three day block for inflammatory behavior and ban baiting. As a reminder, please re-review our user conduct guidelines to avoid this in the future.

Welcome back to the wiki, a lot of things have changed in your absence, so it might be a good idea to sit back and observe for a little while and review the policies and guidelines.

Have a great day! ---bleep196- (talk) 00:12, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi Bleep, amazing to see you again! After once again reviewing the rules and policies, I do not see where I was either inflammatory or baiting a ban. I was nothing but polite in my conversation with Dyre, and I tried to keep things upbeat and positive! Could you please point out exactly what I said that violated which rules? If I was too upbeat then I apologize, but a ban in those regards is baseless, and your comments here would also warrant similar actions (which they don’t!). If it was for pointing out our lack of a miniature moderation rule, that is also not against policy and was clearly done in good faith as I did not ask for a removal of the warning or any action be taken at all. If it was for asking about my tools removal, which was patently against policy (where are those btw?), that is also not in violation of policy. I also would have appreciated if you took this to a mediator, as I really am uncomfortable with a victim-blamer and an apparent Discord friend of my doxxer threatening and punishing me for non-specific infractions. You both have openly carried bad faith towards me both through actions and words (such as your continued claims that I have leaked the security desk and have raided chat). This bad faith is continued with this ban, the ignoring of my queries and your refusal to provide a neutral mediator. I clearly have done nothing of any harm and an assumption of my intent based on nothing is clearly bad faith. I see things really haven’t changed, and I wanted to stay out of the ego game!

Laat the Survivor RangerSequoia (talk) 01:17, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

I'm afraid you've lost me, if you have evidence or know who your original Doxxer was, and believe they are a staff member, then divulge that information either in private or here on your talk page to a trusted source so we may deal with them with an appropriate permanent ban. Tossing idle accusations in bad faith under the presumption that I know who your doxxer is, and that I have been protecting them because they are a friend is foolish. NP staff investigated all possible leads at the time of the incident, I personally looked into them to try to figure out who or what had been responsible. There were multiple branching possibilities that subsequently ended in dead ends because beyond certain obvious characteristics, there was no other information we could procure, and the Doxxer kept a tight lip. If you have information that changes that story, then I would ask you to come forward so we can deal with it, otherwise you're just harming yourself by blindly accusing anyone who stands in your way of being associated with them. ---bleep196- (talk) 15:44, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
Hi Bleep, thanks for following up! I notice you didn’t respond to the real meat of my questions, which is alright and completely acceptable as your personal choice. I’ll just glance over that! You also once again ignored my request for a mediator, which is also perfectly fine! I’ll just move straight to your oddly dodgy response!
I never once made any accusations, just stated what is already public knowledge! Dyre openly victim-blamed me immediately after the fact, and the account that doxxed me was your friend on Discord! Those aren’t accusations, simply observations that make me uncomfortable. In addition, I don’t know how you could stand in my way when I literally have no goals and just want to understand what I’ve done to elicit such hostile action! So, like I have said twice now, if you want to communicate with me further with anything other than answers to my previous questions, please do so with a neutral mediator, preferably FANDOM staff such as our community manager Pie. And any answers to my previous questions would be greatly appreciated! Laat the Survivor RangerSequoia (talk) 20:37, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Ban extended indefinetly[]

Laat,

Given your continued inflammatory behavior in your last update and the revelation that you intentionally posted intentionally provocative content in discussions, as mentioned in SNM, and were involved with the team responsible for the Discord raid and wipe in 2019, we have decided to extend your ban indefinitely as you are considered a risk to the community. Additionally, bans that have been issued to you did not appropriately escalate given that you have already received 3 or more bans for similar behavior, all of which are documented here on your talk page.

Beyond this, you attempted to push rights holders out of their roles on other wikis, as demonstrated here, here, and here. This kind of behavior is considered unacceptable and further demonstrates your inability to cooperate with others.

Should you like to argue this with Fandom staff, be my guest, but understand that anything that has happened on Discord is considered out of their jurisdiction and at the discretion of rights-holders here and they are very much able to see all your previous talk page messages and general history. That said, I would be happy to bring forward the evidence of this to the community as proof if you so wish.

Katy Webb Icon vaulttec A better future, underground! 21:43, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi Katy, lovely to see you! I have a few pointers and questions, if you don’t mind! What did I say that was inflammatory? I’ll assume you mean my talk page messages, which are very polite and positive. I’ve asked in those already what was inflammatory, so frankly I’m a bit embarrassed to have to ask again. What discussions post did I make that provoked anyone? Was my dog thread too offensive, or did someone take issue with a discussion based on Aristotelean thought? While I admit the intention was to get responses from people, isn’t that the point of every discussion? And how is it a bannable offense to know people who are banned? Aren’t many people in contact with Sole, a permanently banned user? And does every account ever associated with me now also need to be banned? I have a rough time fitting this one in policy. Additionally, all my wiki bans were overturned, and therefore do not factor into standard escalation. The only logged ban of mine is a short Discord ban one or two (?) years ago.
Additionally, a lot of what you stated in the ban reason conflicts with this message? The ban states I was involved in the raid, while here you make it clear I am only guilty by association. Which is it, so we can be clear? Also, the reason says “provocative memes” rather than “posts,” which is another discrepancy. Please clarify as it is a bit confusing!
Also, as I’m sure you know, we do not take other wiki drama into account when dealing with moderation here. I also am confused how I could possibly be pushing people out, when the talk pages you linked clearly show that I was the one who lost my rights and left the wiki? In addition, that drama was years ago and if it was at all relevant (it isn’t) it should have been taken into account then!
Theres a lot here that doesn’t seem to fit into policy, and I’ll assume your retort about FANDOM means I’m not able to appeal? If so that also is against policy. Thank you for all your clarification! Laat the Survivor RangerSequoia (talk) 22:15, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Day three of pestering for a response until I get one!! Weird how you can complain that Zeal never had anyone respond on his talkpage after his ban, but treat me the same way!! No hate tho its cool <3 Laat the Survivor RangerSequoia (talk) 05:38, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
Your messages have been seen, but there is nothing to say that was not already placed in the ban notice. You can continue to post passive aggressively to your heart's content, but the consensus among the admin and crats is that the ban is just and will remain in place. Do not expect any further reply, as no further reply is due. The Dyre Wolf (talk) 12:59, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
So was the promise of evidence like just a lie then or what lmao
Also the user page thing was a genuine question so the polite thing would have been to answer imo
Laat the Survivor RangerSequoia (talk) 13:27, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

( This is the first time you've actually asked for the evidence to be brought forward and I am more than happy to oblige! Again keep in mind Fandom staff does not take Discord messages into account for bans but rights holders here find this evidence more than solid given that it has been corroborated and more than one trustworthy person has confirmed the veracity of these. And yes, outside sources can be used for bans, there is no rule that states otherwise. Key for those wondering who is who - Shorsey = Laat, Nexus= Leon, Wicked Brickhouse=Gunslinger.

Additionally, no, you cannot edit your own userpage.
Hope this cleared things up for everyone. ~ KatySig VaultTecLogo A better future, underground! 14:41, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Yeah I’m very confused as to what that is supposed to prove. None of that shows me posting anything intentionally provocative (which was never specified what exactly was provocative), or shows that I was involved in the raid, or that I pushed rights users out on another wiki (which is false; your own links showed that I lost my own rights so if anything I was pushed out, and that has nothing to do with Nukapedia). And once again, your standard escalation reasoning doesn’t track either as all my wiki bans have been overturned. So for the fifth (?) time I’d like to ask for some clarification on why I’ve been warned and then banned? Thanks in advance for your timely response. Ban Appeal[]

Although it’s been many months since my ban, I would like to publicly ask for a review of the situation. It is heartening to see many people raise issue with it, friends and otherwise. It was clearly either erroneous or outright abusive, and I sincerely hope these people fighting for me are able to get it lifted so I can get back to my home on /d like I had intended and begin to help with some of the content restoration and additions that have been taking place of late.
