Re: Playpen[]

Hi! Take a look at this screenshot User:Theodorico/sandbox02

  1. I'm using a "green screen". In the preview window: Uncheck Ground plane and set background to 0 255 0. In the render window i'm using a re-textured billboard. The screen doesn't have to be green - the main idea is to get maximum difference between the background and the object. In case of plasma grenade - purple will do the trick. Plus, force maximum quality settings for your video adapter. Everything else is as usual - remove background color by any means necessary.
  2. They are in the Cell View window. Mostly meaningless with console in mind, but i fill them to avoid extensive searching next time i need to check something.
  3. Sad news. OK, i'll start filling my request. --Theodorico (talk) 21:03, January 8, 2013 (UTC)
Hi!
  1. Playpen: Yes, just delete everything around or move it away from the surroundings.
  2. Background color: Actually this is a VERY good question! This solution is so obvious... that i just somehow ignored it and moved to more complex ideas... Anyway, here's a guide User:Theodorico/sandbox02.
  3. Unmarked locations: File > Preferences > Render window tab - make sure that you have "Allow render window cell loads" checked, plus you might want to set "Clipping distance" to the maximum. Now, just load nearest known location and navigate to wherever you want using the Render window - it should load new cells as soon as you reach them, just select some objects from time to time - just do not click objects in the distance, or you might find yourself in the middle of nowhere... (Just in case: here's a link to the TESCS wiki [1] with keyboard shortcuts to control camera movement.) As soon as you reach your destination, select any object and check the Cell view window to get the cell name. --Theodorico (talk) 21:55, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

F4[]

As I think you've spotted, I, Skire and Neko did a F4 portal today... The Vault built one to try and get a jump on Search Engine Rankings, so I figured we had better do the same. I've reused the Code from the F3 portal, although theres a few commented out parts (like featured articles) that can be reactivated as and when needed. Agent c (talk) 19:39, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

Had some problems with the blog aggregator, couldnt intially work out how to make the one with the one with the lower n work, so tried again with the Cap N, and still no good... Eventually figured it out close enough in the end, but those pages are a pain to edit... Basically you have to either use the wizard tool (which leaves off the template the other ones have at the top), or create a page somewhere else and rename it over the top... Even still its not quite the same, but good enough for us I think.
I'm afraid changing the home page from login is beyond me... If I knew where the code was I might be able to figure it out (everything so far has been more or less reverse engineering).
For the game Icon, I'm thinking maybe just a basic 4 until we have something official? I'm thinking also better put it on the front page for the search bots... Might do that now actually. (Someone beat me to it) Agent c (talk) 20:11, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

Fixed that too, and the PV13 didnt have the template and stuff for some reason... Urgh, this portal stuff is a pain, thank goodness we dont get too many new games... Agent c (talk) 00:48, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Intro[]

I had to change the portal button width in the .css. The buttons were running over the padding on the right of the portal table and looked like crap. I also wanted to see if they would look better with the bottom row centered in the portal box like the top would be and could only really see it if I published the changes. I will change them bottom row back, but frankly, I think the bottom row would look better centered like the top row is. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 21:30, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

Fallout 4[]

I see the site has jumped on the Fallout 4 news of the guy who voiced Three Dog making that comment. What I don't get was he also tweeted Project V13 concept art along with it. Shouldn't we wait till Bethesda says something before we jump on the rumor bandwagon?

--StylesV13 (talk) 01:03, January 11, 2013 (UTC)StylesV13

I get the point of making a move but IMO it's the wrong move. People come here seaking the thruth and when they see that news they will think it is true. It is a rumor and we can't confirm it. What I think should be dones is "Fallout 4. Nothign official announced by Bethesda but current rumors are." And then goin into detail about them, such as the guy posting Project V13 materical along with his tweet.

It just bugs me to see people jumping on the rumor bandwagon. Nothing is final until Bethesda says so, and so far they have said nothing. We should stick to facts as best we can IMO.

It seems that it has reset to 1 out of 60 days. I thought I was at least doing something here every 24 hours, I am sure I did things yesterday.. Seems I was wrong. I was so close, I was 44 days in, or today would have made 44. Is it based on 24 hours since your last post or is it every 24 hours based on some forum clock? Maybe some glitch? I am not mad or anything, but still it would have been nice to get it.

Also the maps I have been loading.. are they good? I am not sure how to make them bigger. The only thing I can think of would be to increase the KB size of images from 12 to maybe 20.

Fallout 1 and 2 Currency Links[]

Js, I'd like to have your incite on an editing idea I have. As both Fallout 1 and 2 are not nearly as popular as the later games in the series, people might be interested on what happened in the former games. One way I'd like to help is by adding Bottle cap (Fallout) and NCR dollars to the "value" section of the infoboxes. It should be added to every page that holds info on an item that has value. Since all of the pages have an unmarked value, no one knows whether the value comes from Bottle caps or NCR dollars. Please share your opinion and thoughts on this at my talk page.--User ncr A Safe People is a Strong People! 19:30, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

Note[]

I discussed that in chat, as I saw some users before that had the Councillor fancy bar without using .js script. It is a global script, similar to VSTF bar. CoD4 confirmed that in chat. Energy X Signature0 20:59, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

Gunny and the template[]

It appears Gunny has kept his promise and changed the Fallout 2 infoboxes to have the $ link inside with the value. While this pretty much solves the Fallout 2 problem, I'd like to continue on adding the $ to the fallout 1 pages. Care to share anything, or should I message Gunny about it and he could fix the template again?--User ncr A Safe People is a Strong People! 16:39, January 18, 2013 (UTC)

I've made the first template change on {{Infobox weapon}}. I added a switch that checks the {{{games}}} parameter. If it is only FO1, it adds the $ with a link to caps. If FO2, $ linked to NCR$ and FOT, $ linked to BOS script. If {{{games}}} is empty or filled with more than one game, it adds only the value, no $ or link. That way we can add multiple game values, links and icons by hand. Take a look at a couple of FO1/FO2/FOT weapons pages to see it at work, since the change was to the template, it's already done, no bot work.
After I'm sure it's working OK, I'll go ahead and make similar changes to the other item infoboxes that apply. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 21:41, January 18, 2013 (UTC)
Only to remove them. Now that's something that Theo's bot could do pretty easily. If there's a lot of infoboxes with the $ already there, I'll make the template changes slowly so we can check the pages and remove them when needed. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 21:50, January 18, 2013 (UTC)
I've changed how I'm doing this. I rewrote the template value section to check the {{{games}}} parameter and it now adds the proper monetary unit for each game automatically. I also have it checking to see if there are multiple games in {{{games}}}, and it there are, it adds the appropriate monetary unit as well as the game icon for each game listed. I have also added per game value parameters (eg {{{value fo1}}}, {{{value fo3}}}) so that if the value is different in infoboxes for multiple games, you can enter each games' values. I think this is working well enough. I've already made the changes to {{Infobox weapon}}. Everything looks OK. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 18:44, January 20, 2013 (UTC)

(The asterisks are for the abbcontains template. They allow the template to include all the dlcs without listing them seperately. As for the check on numbers/letters, I'm not aware of anything that will do that, but I'll see if I can find something. There's a few other things I need to clean up anyways. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 02:46, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

Hey J. I just have a quick question about linking conventions in infoboxes. Do all linkable parts of an infobox need to be linked, even if they are referenced more than once? I have seen a few with all linked and a few that omit links on the second and third references etc. Also, if something is linked in the infobox, does that mean that you don't need to link it again in the article or opening paragraph? I've looked on the editing guidelines page but I didn't see anything regarding this. Thanks a bunch! FollowersApocalypseLogonihil novi sub sole 20:39, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

I appreciate your appreciation!
One thing I'm annoyed with, though, is that some users tend to upload sound files with names containing the first few words of the quote. • 261957 10150284430812673 20320777672 8865299 5790421 n.jpg

Proposal[]

Hey dude, I have a kickass proposal to the site and I was told in chat to pitch it to you. Ok now hear me out, cause I've got a feeling this is HUGE man, I mean like out of the scale huge. Ok so I was hanging out (mostly in chat since I was thinking about running for chatmod at the time, but that seemingly got derailed for other reasons despite my generally acknoledged badassery, I think because I don't have that much free time to be on the chat due to all the things I do with my life). So anyway I was there minding my own business, and it was really exciting seeing the votes coming in and out you know, we never knew who would come out ahead. But after a while the winner kinda becomes a shoe in know what mean? It kinda kills the excitement! So here I'm thinking, and bear with me for a while cuz it's gonna blow your mind dude, seriously, but I was thinking "where's the glamor here? Where's the pizazz??" Know what I'm saying? So I was watching some reality shows and one thing they always do is keeping the suspense up till the last moment, I'm talking last sec reveals here. So now how we go about to do that? Don't worry dude, I've already thought this through and though (cool) Ok now bear with me for a moment: so we have to keep the votes hidden until the reveal right, so we have to completely overhaul and revamp the voting system we have now. I'm thinking the voters can email the votes to the administrators or the bureaucrats, and they keep careful but personal note (it has to be hidden from everyone else or else the mystique gets blown) of the votes, and then when the deadline is reached then the crats and the other fat cats of the wiki can do their thing and decide. But now HERE's the tricky part, so bear with me again, this is the most important thing: you can't just come in and paste the the results on the page like that, where's the pizazz of that dude?? You (or who ever is making the decision i don't really have certainty of how it works, I'm just running with my guesses here you know, so correct me on this part) are to first call everyone by means of that pop up we have but maybe something more catchy, it has to be it's own pop up and if we can make it blink or another color it's ever better, to the chat. Then you paste every vote one by one, to keep people on the edge of their seats for the whole time. You have to be a bit of an entertainer here, you gotta find that sweet spot that makes the suspense hang on as long as possible. I suggest that you place the votes in such order that makes it impossible for us to guess, like if the vote has a majority of one vote then you have to put one yes one no, the other yes etc. Even if it's out of order, that way you will maximize the suspense. Dude, I can already see how fucking badass that would be. But hey, I wouldn't be doing my job if I let you with just that, I always go that extra mile so I'll give yet another idea to implement it. Now the problem is that we're leaving so far the people who can't make it to the chat/forums in time for the reveal. But wait, I thought of an idea to address that! So you dig those things that have a hide/show butting on them? And when you click it the box expands and hides? So I was thinking using those too so that people who come in late to the party can still keep on the suspense too! So they click this vote and it's yes, they click that vote and it's no, etc. Then they click the final result, and BANG! They fucking had the time of their lives right there. Just think about how many people you would win over to the wiki with just that dude? In this world of easy pleasures you have to be constantly on your toes to keep giving the people entertainment or else they get bored and leave man, but just that simple change will revert that. Let me know what you think of it!

In short, he's proposing instead of the poll elements, we vote by email. Given the huge uptick in votes after caning the Edit a page for the vote element, I think its obvious this is a bad idea. Cause & effect ~ Leading to a Question[]

I have been putting this this off.

Some of you who know me a wee bit know I am a retired US vet that as it appears served too long. Might have made it to 30 years.., but NO. It was a goal Obama took off the table with his "Forced retirement" / "Job creation program" .

It might not have hurt so much if he called it " Job ROTATION ". SOB politicians.. There is no jobs created when a seasoned troop is replaced with a wet behind the ears trainee that might not last his first enlistment. THAT IS JUST BAD BUSINESS. No wonder our national debt has tripled.

  • I served nearly 28 years. Hell I was in Jalalabad Afghanistan when I joined this wiki.

Long story short. More than my own blood was split in my years of service..

  • I came home to say "I suffer from a broken heart."

My old service related injuries have been compiled since Ronald Reagan's fist term plagued me. When I returned from Afghanistan this last time the demobilization Doctors put in a case for medical review.. & I got caught in a catch 22.

Had the review been allowed, my issues could have been better served.

* I was indeed HONORABLY retired.

The point is: The betrayal of the circumstance broke both my mind & heart.

  • It is getting worse & I will soon go to court not for a crime but to prove my service related mind Fuck.

This community comforts me, reminds me that I once had some thing to fight for.

  • The date is not yet set, but I am due to go back to court again & They might keep me for observation to "assess" my mind's ass fuck from my nations betrayal.

The point at last is : If I give a weeks notice, Can my contributions daily be held until I return ?

It would just aid my fevered mind to know. When I hear of the next court date that I could fore warn all off the possibility that I might go away for a bit.

Idea - Cancelled Games Portal[]

Hi J,

Been thinking a lot about our portals recently... Trying to think of ways to improve/udpate/refresh em... Wanted to sound you out about an idea that you sort of gave me. It is however, likely to be controversial.

Since we've removed PV13 from the front page portal list there is now only one cancelled game on the front - Van Buren, a name that for someone who doesn't know the full backstory yet probably doesn't mean much... I'm thinking it might be a good idea to replace that.

So Instead of the Van Buren portal (and the PV13 portal), we'd instead replace both with a Cancelled Games portal. This portal/section would be anchored by VB and PV13, however it would also be able to spotlight the other cancelled Fallout games that currently get little if any attention. (The PS game, Tactics 2, Extreme, FOBOS2, the iPhone game, and whatever else I might have missed).

"Cancelled Fallout Games" is also more likely to be interesting to people who have just started looking into Fallout, its more descriptive than Van Buren.

It would also have the possibility (although hopefully not ever in practice) of future expansion if later games are cancelled too.

I know dropping VB is likely to be a bit controversial... Wondering if you had any thoughts though? Agent c (talk) 00:54, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

I'll work on the idea over the next week or so, mostly getting the concept right at this stage. I'll come up with a "conservative" mockup that apes the current style, and perhaps a more ambitious one that could be used as a blueprint to update the other portals... Agent c (talk) 01:50, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
I Have a test in progress on This sandbox which is more towards the "abitious" side..
  • The slider at the top is the most noticable change from what we do now. Unfortunately it can only support 4 pictures/links... I'm thinking of trying to tie it in with the Rotating content template so that it would rotate through 6 of the 8 games in total (no point featuring the PlayStation and iPhone games there).
  • Above the slider is a specific heading for this portal, rather than the general one used on the front page.
  • Below that we have the "replacement" for the contents section giving a brief overview of the game. I can include a more traditional contents section too later on a bit paired down from what PV13/VB have now to fit all the games. The alignment doesnt seem right, but it was hard enough getting it that close.
  • The featuerd article section is the featured article section from PV13, making a general one shouldnt be too tough. The how you can help out bit also hasn't changed.
Would love any comments so far. Agent c (talk) 18:13, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

I think at that point We're running into what POR referred to as banner fatigue; we're at 8 now, with the features that's 14, up to 16 with PV13/Other Canx. We've then got questions on how long we're going to have them linger on the front, and why they get prominence, but the very detailed FOBOS2 doesn't... Lemmie do a combined "index" tomorrow and see if I can confront some of your worries... Agent c (talk) 21:58, February 18, 2013 (UTC)

Hi J,

Made some changes to the Portal thing today... If you're looking at it at the moment, ignore the crud of HTML where the forums stuff is supposed to be, that should start to work again whenever wikia fix these Javascript issues.

But I've added an index/contents like the ones on the regular portal. You'll see its tabbed, one tab for all the games (I've not done links at this stage as it requires a few overview pages to be made), and then the existing portals contents in the other tabs.

Tabs don't seem to be something we've used much, might work on the other portals too for seperating vanilla content from the DLCs... Agent c (talk) 00:31, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

ADB[]

Hello, J. This is a message that I will be circulating through Nukapedia's Sysops. A while back I had created a more suitable version of the Administrators' Discussion Board as an attempt to help regulate important matters that require immediate attention from the veteran users around Nukapedia. With Fallout 4 on the horizon, I would like to begin making this feature more widely embraced, so that we all are more comfortable and familiar with using it for when the time comes around that we'll need to look towards it the most. What I would like to see is for an example to be set for where certain matters should be discussed within our community, as well as creating an environment where users will know that their issues will be addressed in a timely and fair manner. What does this mean, exactly?

  • Appropriate topics should be addressed within the ADB instead of the normal fora space. Not only is the ADB a general area to condense important topics, but it is also always kept at the top for easy access. (As well as having a place within the Community Messages.)
  • All Administrators, Moderators, Patrollers, and Bureaucrats should make it a priority to check through the ADB at least once every few days or so. This is the duty of mantling the extra tools, after all, and is not too much to ask for.
  • The ADB should make an appearance within new user's welcome message.
  • If a topic within the fora has been made that is of significant importance and affects the wiki as a whole, these topics should be moved into the ADB.
    • It is my hope that these requirements will help our community become more familiar with where they should go to have their grievances and ideas properly heard. Right now, the ADB has been largely ignored because the Sysops have also largely ignored it, and this is unacceptable at times when important matters such as this one are mostly by-passed except for a couple of people. With the chaos that is soon to come with the new title(s), all I am asking is for a bit of responsibility in making sure that we all recognize issues and ideas as they come up, and making sure that we do our parts in seeing them through. Thank you for reading, and I would greatly appreciate some feed-back. Once a general consensus has been reached, possible changes will be taken care of.

ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 22:00, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

Out of curiosity, won't new users that add topics to the ADB that may not live up to your "standards" for being there just clutter it? Personally I believe it should not be included in the welcome message and general issues should go in the main forums under the appropriate header. If we find an issue that is important enough that it needs attention of a bc, admin etc we will still see it in wiki discussion as it is the duty of all of us to check the forums at least every other day. Myself personally check them daily. Adding the ADB in the welcome message would be a big mistake in my opinion.--Kingclyde (talk) 23:43, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

Youtube video gallery[]

OK. Done converting Porter's template for use with the youtube extension. Here are the limitations:

  • You have to enter the entire youtube extension code for each video displayed.
  • Since the extension can't process template paramters, you have to define video height and width inside the you tube extension AND also define the video width as a parameter for the proper spacing between videos.

I've put the entire limit of 15 videos on [[User:The_Gunny/sandbox#Using_youtube_extension]], and it looks OK. Captions can be added below the videos. Here's the code, so you can see how it's entered:

{{User:The Gunny/sandbox3|widths=200

|[[File:Gran Torino - "Get off my lawn"|200px]]

OK, a couple of things. First, I changed the video height to 3/5 of the video width. That's the standard that the youtube extension uses. The rest is just margin and padding built into the ul and li. I can ask Theo to take a look at it and see if any of that can be trimmed. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 03:40, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, that link you gave me does say what the flags are. Looks like R is Random, E is Random End, and O is Say Once. Glad I guessed G correctly. Thanks a lot for the help, I'll try to stop bugging you like this. Paladin117>>iff bored; 06:54, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

re: Adminship request[]

Do you think that this will be a good motto: "Hey, I had been an Admin at Russian wiki for 6 days, and take a look - they are still running!" ? :))) But, jokes apart, I think, there's enough of mentions of my work, especially after Gunny's briefing. :) --Theodorico (talk) 00:08, March 6, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Jspoel, could you possibly get a better version of this image? http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ashur.jpg Like a new one or some such that is more than a basically black square? Richie9999 (talk) 02:21, March 6, 2013 (UTC)

The break was too wide and made the article look empty at first look so I undid it because the page was fine as it was

Mini nuke location ?[]

Mini Nuke location West of V101.jpg

Due west of vault 101 there is a barn with a mini nuke on a ground level metal rack.

I am sure it must be listed some place but I keep missing it. It might have been over looked in the mini nuke location chart.

The other closest land mark is the over pass with raiders that are near the landed Vertibird Enclave base on the bluff above the Spring vale school.

Do you know of a link to the barn I am speaking of ?

The barn I am talking about has a skeleton in a chair slumped over a hunting rifle and a ham radio in the loft.

Hey J, can you check this anon? Apparently, he is Theodorico, but since he is an anon, I have some doubts. Besides, after the incident on Nate's mod request (referring to Retro Radiation King), it would be good to check. Energy X Signature0 00:08, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

Disbelief[]

This is going to be a long one, so I apologize in advance.

  • "I'm shaking my head in disbelief. Why do you have to be so hard on him, Leon?"
    • I am hard on every user who wants to become the face of Nukapedia. Administrators appear as the go-to editors when cases of experience and good judgment are needed to help resolve an issue. Theo has proven himself to be crippled in this regard, especially since he has now abandoned this wiki twice. Because of two, and note that the numbers coincide, minor conflicts that don't hold a light to what sort of conflicts he will see as an Administrator after the release of FO4. I'm sure if you think hard enough, you'll forget about the current lax environment here and remember how hectic and tense matters get during our active peaks.
  • "Still faulting him for a bad day months ago and not being in chat?"
    • I have to take every fact into account. And the facts show that Theo cannot handle criticism nor conflict. This has been proven once again over his latest actions and words.
  • "Theo maybe doesn't participate in community features, but that is not where his talent and interest lie."
    • As a bureaucrat, you should know that to gain the extra tools, a user should be able to handle the aspects of the wiki required with the extra rights responsibilities. As an Administrator, his responsibilities extend past those of technical insight, and only technical insight. I don't mean to be condescending here. But I'm weary of this dropping of standards because we're freaking out ever since Porter went in-active. Do I need to remind you of what has happened in the past when we've dropped our standards? Just recently, too?
  • "...similar to Porter over at The Vault."
    • No no no no no. I'm tired of seeing this comparison. As much as I respect Theo's skills, he is not Porter, nor even similar to him. Porter was both our top editor with some of the best judgment presented, and most respected user at The Vault aside from Ausir himself. Porter had exceptional skills in every branch of the wiki, except for perhaps the chat and blog feature.
  • "Yes, he deserves (and can use them) the admin tools."
    • I'm going to highlight this part. Because, you know what? Everyone has been so blind in this matter, that everyone has absolutely refused to acknowledge this point that I made multiple times over. Theo can gain access to our technical pages through a community-backed consensus to Wikia Staff. Theo does not need Admin rights, nor has he shown that he's responsible enough for them outside of technical skills. So yes, he can gain the rights that he's looking for. I'm tired of people saying that becoming an Administrator is his only option.
  • "Needing to be "in touch with the community" is highly overrated here."
    • You are absolutely wrong. All users need to respect and understand both the community and wiki. Extra rights users especially so, since they are relied upon to deal with issues as they come up. If a user is not responsible enough outside of editing, then they do not deserve the tools. Why else do you think Tezzla was denied? Why do you think we've had so many Admins no re-confirmed because while they were great editors, they had a lack of good judgment or community-standing?
  • "When I started out I was never on blogs and would never have been in chat."
    • Please tell me where I ever stated that this was my main concern. In-fact, I explicitly explained on the request that these were not my main concerns.
  • "My interest was in hardcore editing work such as images and maintenance. That's where I was recognized by and that's similar to what Theo should be recognized with, in an even more important area."
    • Don't depreciate your skills, J. Theo lacks something that you are also strong in: To properly explain yourself and judge situations as they come along.
  • "Enough is enough at a certain point. I only hope the only thing he does is take some time off and not leave us. I hope you all realize what we would lose."
    • I'm going to be blunt, here. You know I respect and look-up to you, and it's going to pain me to say this to you. (This will also refer to a few other users.) You are blinded by the lack of Porter. Nukapedia/The Vault has become dependent on him, and now that he's gone, we're willing to do anything to get another user to at least partially take his place. The fact that you are ignoring that he's now abandoned this wiki twice, even though he had made many strong commitments speaks volumes of his dedication to this wiki and our community. You're completely willing to ignore this simply because of his technical skills. And look at his responses to my criticism. Want to know why I continued? Because not only did he dismiss my criticism, thinking himself too important for it, but also extended his ego by stating that anything less than Admin tools was unacceptable to him, and even referred to insulting me and my critique, even going as far as mis-quoting me to attack my critique, as well. So not only is he fickle in his dedication to this wiki, but he's also shown to be quite a bit egotistical and condescending. This is not what I want in a possible future Admin.

New Achievements?[]

Hey J, I was wondering if there would be any new achievement badges being made soon. I was just wondering for the heck of it and thought I would ask. Hope to hear back from ya! Well I was thinking we could bring back some of the older ones, but I had an idea for like a set amount of edits on Misc items for FO3 and FNV, edits on Named Legion and NCR members, etc. Haha, they sound dumb now that I think of it.

Fallout Tactics Demo Missions[]

Do you know a place in which I can download them and have them actually work? I have found a couple of places but I can't install them or the files are just garbage.

I have the orginal three disks set plus the bonus disk.

I checked out MMA and google, I have turned up some sources but I can't get them to install.

As for the voice actors for Fallout Tactics characters. Chris Taylor said that such a list of who voiced what character migh have once existed and if it did it might be in a mountain of boxes and files. He said he would ask around. I asked him again about a week ago and he said he wasn't able to turn up anything.

Theo[]

You say that as if I was expecting or even wanting him to leave. I was just one person expressing my concerns. I have every right to do that. I am truly sorry to see him leave, and I wish he wouldn't have made such a brash decision. But I did not make him leave. His inability to handle criticism is what has made him leave twice now. In a way, you are right - it's a downright shame that Theo has left, and I did have a part in his decision to do so. But at the same time, it is not my fault, and saying that I'm upset is an understatement when I see nearly everyone blaming me for his decision. Even going as far as saying that I should be banned. But, once again, it was just one person stating an opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. Sorry if you're taking that as any differently. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:15, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Wanted pages[]

Hm, would it be good to reduce the number of wanted pages via redirect? Example is Fallout 2 achievements and trophies. I could just make the redirect to the Achievements and trophies article, so would it be good to do it? Energy X Signature0 19:09, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Formspring shutting down[]

We currently have 325 links (125 linked to articles, the rest to blogs and talk pages) to Formspring that will go red at the end of the month. Josh plans on moving his archive, maybe over to his tumblr account. How should we progress on all the references linked? Wait until he moves the archive and re-link? Ideas? The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 19:51, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

I tested the links to wayback archives on Fisto. Works dandy. Richie and I can handle the changes, I'll do the admin access only blogs, he'll get the rest. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:37, March 20, 2013 (UTC)
All the links I can fix are done. There's still gonna be some that show up red when the site goes down. There's a few blog comments it wouldn't let me edit. We'll probably have to delete those blog comments to get rid of them. Any ideas? The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 02:59, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Separate Bug Page Policy[]

Hey Js, just wondering if you were going to vote on the Seperate Bug Page Policy. If not then I think it has more than surpassed Quorum, and perhaps we should go ahead and implement the new bug page. Votes[]

This will be a circulating message to all users that expressed their opinions over my recent discussion and vote. Please make sure to update your votes accordingly to this new information:

  • Info-box Mk.II - For those of you wanting to see an example first, an example for how the changes will look (Keep in mind that this example is in its most basic form.) can now be found here. If a positive community consensus is reached, the new design will become functional here and the community can decide from there whether the final design is appropriate or not on Nukapedia.
  • JunkRadio - I would like to share a quote from the JunkRadio designer himself: I was thinking of adding it to the top left or bottom left corner of the wiki. I can give it absolute positioning, which means that it will display on the top left, regardless of screen resolutions. If necessary, I can make it scroll down with the page as well, although this might distract users from reading the actual pages. - Mark van Alphen
    • Thank you for reading, and I'll be looking forward to gathering everyone's final opinion over these new changes. Due to the overwhelming support so far for all three changes, only needing minor points to update them for clarity, the vote will continue as normal, and will end on the 23rd as scheduled. If you would like to dispute this, please leave your concerns and reasons behind them over my talk-page. Happy editing! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:03, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

Np.

Just on the portals, its just a matter of filling the content (fixing the images, mixing the featured articles, and completing the pages needed for the index) on cancelled games... I'll then call a vote to activate that, and start porting F3 and NV to the same style (a portal each though, they wont have to share with anything but the DLCs).

I'd really like to redo the community portal, but that's looking like a much more long term project... Its too much of a toolbox and not enough "Community" for me, but coming up with a plan on how to do it or what it should look like isn't progressing much. Agent c (talk) 18:29, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

JHE[]

No, as JES didnt work on F3, we'd need a F3 developer and they don't tend to talk much.

According to terminator.wikia.com John Henry appeared first in this episode, airing on 20 October 2008.

So we either have Bethesda doing a major rewrite, rerecord on audio along with production and shipping of Fallout 3 in 8 days (F3 was released on 28 October 2008) which is logistically impossible, or its not a reference.

I do however like as an alternative suggestion their note section:

"John Henry" was named for a fictional folk hero John Henry who challenged progress. He defeated the automatic steam drill machine in a race that was replacing workers with simple hand hammers driving drills, but died from exhaustion in the process.
John Henry's name is further explained by the role Weaver intends for him to play: to protect humanity and "fight" Skynet. Like the John Henry of the folklore, she intends for him to compete against machinery on behalf of humanity — but unlike this John Henry, she intends for him to win.

Not entirely sure if it ties up with JHE, but I guess its a possible case of a common root. Agent c (talk) 16:21, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

My site resolution[]

Last night my screen resolution here became magnified. I checked other sites even 3 other wikis and this is the only site that's doing it.. I asked DeadGunner & he said his pages look ok.

Mine is so zoomed it every thing is so over pixelated I can barely read what I'm writing and images look like crap. Hell I can't even see my book ends.

I have no idea what I might have done to change my resolution on just this one site.. If you have any clues, please advise.

Thank you for your time

Sigh, OK well I guess I'll have to drive on with it for now.. Too much yet to write in too little time.. I'll ask Wiki central about it after the 24th. It is odd though this is the only site that has this issue for me..

I'll worry about it later. Any way, Thanks for the advice.. It's back to the Broken Chamber for me.. so Have a great week end.

So any way, again thank you I'll deal with this glitch after the 24th.
