Brotherhood invaders[]

So, I have a question - how did you convinced the Brotherhood that they went to the Cathedral? MysteryStranger: Trust in the power of Infinity! 20:26, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

Before that I found that they CAN go to Cathedral when was digging HIGHELD.MSG. Then I try to make this situation. At first, without "scouting the northern wastes" there are no talk about it at all. I've scouted the base and returned, but there was only one option: "go to base". At second, I moved to Cathedral (not entering in, as at base) and returned. No difference. So I start to talking different COC, digging different computers and returning to BoS. After Morpheus' there was a new dialog option (number 156 in file). Good news: they WILL go into Vault to The Master.
If you can't repeat this, I still have saves at that point and can make a "step-by-step" solution. Korney San 03:39, February 23, 2012 (UTC)

Random encounter images[]

Sorry, thought nobody would do anything with them anymore after 10 hours just sitting there. I restored the images, so you can use them. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:25, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you. I've uploaded them to English wiki because when I upload any file to Russian wiki, it can be seen only in russian articles, not in others. And English wiki files is available everywhere. And icon is used already for location marker in location template for FO1/FO2, as in FO3/FNV. Korney San 17:46, June 2, 2012 (UTC)
Usually I have very little time at weekend to update wiki, so I deal with it only at work. And I nad time only for russian articles last friday... ;) Korney San 17:46, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Ending images[]

Korney, any chance you can upload more images for the Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 endings page? We still seem to be missing a lot. Would be great if you could. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:45, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

I've extracted all endings images for Fallout 2 and now editing russian page with uploading/updating images by need. Please note that not every ending has its own image.
I'll compare/update Fallout endings when finished. Korney San (talk) 14:51, December 11, 2012 (UTC)
Ok thanks. I sort of expected not every ending had its own image. But what you have, I'll happily see uploaded here! Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:59, December 11, 2012 (UTC)
Can't find Hubologists ending image, looks like explosion on blue sky. Can't find right place for one of VC ending images. All other images are at their places. FO1 page don't need to be updated. Korney San (talk) 10:06, December 12, 2012 (UTC)

Tactics pages[]

Any help on the Fallout Tactics pages is welcome! They haven't gotten enough attention in the past. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:30, December 28, 2012 (UTC)

Bust out of jail[]

You created a redlinked quest page on Save Killian's life. Are you going to make that page (is this an unmarked quest and worth a page)? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:16, April 10, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it's an unmarked quest (250 exp) and I made a russian page of it, so I'm going to make an english page today. --Korney San (talk) 03:33, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

King Arthur's Knights[]

Do you by any chance have a save game of the King Arthur's Knights special encounter? I'd like to know who is who in the image, so they can be added to the character pages. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:21, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, but I have only the save near that encounter. I suggest that first knight is Arthur and a man behind him is Patsy. The man in brown is Joshua for sure (unique model on the map). --Korney San (talk) 18:29, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

Fallout character models[]

Korney, can you tell me how you create the Fallout character models, like FO2 Guardian robot model? I'm trying it with an frm viewer on the extracted files in the critters map, but don't quite get the result from your images. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:00, June 2, 2014 (UTC)

You should use Red!Viewer (or Red Viewer), it can extract frames. What's for me, I ask cubik2k about his FO1/2 critters editor and he gave me the source code. Then I wrote my own critters/items viewer with ability to extract all information automatically (including images). --Korney San (talk) 03:57, June 3, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for that link to RedViewer! I used it to create animation frames for all weapons, see Animation frames. If you want it for the Russian wiki, go ahead and copy it. Another question, do you know a program to get to the specifics of the Fallout perks? I know they're on NMA but I thought maybe there's a program, like the Redviewer for frames. Recently also weapon perks (see Fallout weapons at the bottom of the page) and armor perks (Combat Armor (perk) and Powered Armor (perk)) were added and there are a few more in PERK.MSG (Fallout 2) which still need to be added. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:43, July 4, 2014 (UTC)
Another question came to mind. I have a mapper for Fallout 2 which helps you identify characters' prototype id. However, when I use it for Fallout maps, when I click on a character, there's a wrong prototype id. Do you know a workaround for that so I get the correct ids? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:47, July 4, 2014 (UTC)
I don't know any program about perks yet. What about mapper, if it is a mapper with game folder option, it needs to select Fallout folder and then restart. And so on to back to Fallout 2. --Korney San (talk) 14:15, July 5, 2014 (UTC)

( Look, here's what I mean. When you select a character on a Fallout map, like Cougar in Junktown hospital in this picture, you get the robobrain's properties and a door's script. So you can't use that to determine the prototype number and add the stats to the infobox. But I'll try to find out somehow. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:33, July 5, 2014 (UTC)

Fo2 mapper for Fallout characters
Please give me this mapper to try. --Korney San (talk) 03:38, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
Ok, looks like you use a Dims' mapper, so do as I explained: in Configuration - Fallout location select Fallout folder to work with Fallout maps and Fallout 2 folder to work with Fallout 2 maps, then restart mapper. --Korney San (talk) 09:18, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Day/Night images[]

Hey, I've noticed on Убежище that you added a day/night template. I was wondering if I could get your permission to use the images you used for them over here as well. Thanks in advance. - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 00:06, September 21, 2014 (UTC)

Those files are not mine, they was taken from FindIcons.com under "Free for non-commercial use" license. So you have the same permission. ;) --Korney San (talk) 07:43, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
Alright, thanks :) - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 18:07, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Merry Christmas and a happy new year[]

I would like to use the Christmas-wishes-tradition to thank those around me who kept this wiki and daily life more fun for me during the past year. Everything just seems so normal and evident that we are here almost every day, yet it's very worthwhile to consider for a moment how wonderful it is to have all of you around me, making editing and being on chat a lot more enjoyable. I would also like to use this opportunity to wish a happy and healthy new year for you and everyone around you, with perseverance in tough times, but most of all, with wonderful moments among enjoyable friends and family. Merry Christmas, and a very happy new year in which all your wishes may come true! - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 18:06, December 25, 2014 (UTC)

Redding tunnel images[]

How did you create the Redding tunnel images? You say it's a daytime picture but when I am in a tunnel at noon or midnight, it makes no difference in lighting. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:44, January 25, 2015 (UTC)

Dims mapper
I've made them with Dim's mapper. I think it always use 100% lighting. --Korney San (talk) 03:23, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
Which one do you use exactly? I have the Dims mapper 0.98c from 2003 but it only can display a small part of a map, so I use Ctrl-R in the game to pick a map on a large screen. Also, this Dims mapper doesn't give the correct proto descriptions in Fallout. There also seems to be another mapper, do you use that one? If you do, can you give me link to downloading it? You can see examples of both mappers in the screenshot. To the left Dims 0.98, to the right the unknown mapper. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:50, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
Ok. Let me describe.
  1. I use Dim's mapper (filename mapper_0.99.exe dated 06.08.2003 by file, but 0.98c dated 24.02.2003 in About). To make whole map picture I use a couple of programs: AutoHotkey to move map by 630 pixels exactly and generate picture-capturing button "presses", PicPick to take a capture of part of screen (that piece of map that is viewing in mapper), and a self-made program to glue all of it to one file. The last step is PNGGauntlet to compress the result.
  2. Proto description in Dim's mapper depends on the game selected, as I said before. If you work with Fallout 2 maps, you should select Fallout 2 folder in settings. If you want to work with Fallout, you must select Fallout folder. I have almost no problems with proto descriptions, the one problem is that russian is displayed incorrectly due to program internal limitations.
  3. As I know, the right screen is from the official Fallout 2 mapper known as BIS mapper.

Happy new year![]

I would like to use the Christmas/New Year-wishes-tradition, though I'm a week late, to thank those around me who kept this wiki and daily life more fun for me during the past year. Everything just seems so normal and evident that we are here almost every day, yet it's very worthwhile to consider for a moment how wonderful it is to have people like you around me, making editing and being on chat a lot more enjoyable. I would also like to use this opportunity to wish a happy and healthy new year for you and everyone around you who is dear to you. I hope you'll have a great and healthy new year in which all your wishes may come true! - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 00:10, January 6, 2016 (UTC)

Become a Prizefighter boxers[]

I noticed you added a table on the Russian wiki for the boxers in Become a Prizefighter. Now I see a few names we don't have here. You say those boxers are replacements for the first boxers should they die before the ring battle. However, those first boxers (Joqq, Pete McKneely and Evan Holyfeld) aren't found in the game before the battle, so you can't kill them before it and as a result, can't fight their replacements either I would think. You can kill Masticator in his cage before the fight, however when you return, Stuart disappears and you cannot fight Xander Holyland either. Now you have all those replacement names posted on the page, so I reckon you managed somehow to get those fights. How did you do it? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:09, April 22, 2017 (UTC)

You missed Mal Fisto - the replacement for Joqq. ;) Yes, there are replacements for every boxer of this quest. The question is why they was removed from the game (or let's say another way, the possibility to meet Joqq and Pete McKneely somewhere else was removed and only Masticator was kept). However, their presence can be found in NEWRENO.H script file (ough, it was a big deep dig) and their names are in the newr1.msg, starting from line 700. --Korney San (talk) 05:45, May 16, 2017 (UTC)
I found Pete McKneely and Evan Holyfeld, they're in the gym. If I play using Killap's Restorations Project, Stuart doesn't disappear and I can get their replacements if I kill them beforehand. But Joqq isn't found anywhere so I can't get Mal Fisto as an opponent. But now I do see where you got his name from. What a lot of names! With several nice references. "Alotta Fagina" ring a bell?:) Does with me. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:17, May 16, 2017 (UTC)
AFAIR, "Alotta Fagina" is a lady from Austin Powers movie. ;) BTW, you can see McKneely and Holyfeld in RP only, not in original game? --Korney San (talk) 07:07, May 17, 2017 (UTC)

Changes on the Russian wiki[]

I removed a few image sizes from armors on the Russian wiki, the images were so small. Was that ok? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:39, December 8, 2017 (UTC)

Can you please give some hints about files? I can't find the links to deleted ones. --Korney San (talk) 08:31, December 10, 2017 (UTC)
See my contributions of 8 december on the Russian wiki: http://ru.fallout.wikia.com/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BB%D1%83%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%B1%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F:Contributions/Jspoelstra, three edits. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:03, December 12, 2017 (UTC)

Traps[]

I had spotted them on the Russian wiki. I'm thinking though maybe we could merge these trap pages, like we do with the newer games. But you can add them for now. I'm not getting a warning message myself, I'm standing at the exact spot of your image right now and only get a "You have received a large dose of radiation". Jspoel Speech Jspoel 19:23, December 18, 2017 (UTC)

Sorry man, that's not my fault. ;) Hot spot script contains only

if (script_action == 2) then begin Rads := random(20, 50); radiation_inc(dude_obj, Rads); end

and no more, even no description output like other traps has. --Korney San (talk) 19:37, December 18, 2017 (UTC)

Glow alien[]

You mean you found the alien in the Glow? I checked the links to GLWALIEN.MSG and it's listed on the Fallout cut content page as cut content. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:10, December 19, 2017 (UTC)

Yes, it's listed as cut (however, there is not only .msg, but the script also) and it's really not connected to the object, but the alien itself (I should say - remains of it) is present on the 4th level of Glow! --Korney San (talk) 21:14, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
I had already seen it on the Russian wiki, found the alien hiding behind that broken suspension tank. But I have doubts about the page; the bones don't have the GLWALIEN.MSG message file tied to it, but the bones description in PRO_ITEM.MSG_(Fallout) which seems to make more sense because it's outside the container, so can't be frozen. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 19:25, January 16, 2018 (UTC)
I saw. But this alien is only alien at Glow, so I think that script for it just was not assigned for unknown reason, leading to identification as regular 'bones'. --Korney San (talk) 04:43, January 17, 2018 (UTC)
