Honestly I do not know, I know we can export dialogues but that's all, I never found any other way to export information from the G.E.C.K. May be you can see in Fallout Nexus if a modified version of the G.E.C.K. with this possibility exist.

Notable skilled people[]

I would like to send you some rules that I thought to give a nice layout, reliability and quality.

• Relied on the skills I think is necessary only for non-combat skills - for invisible skills. If an important person or companions uses a weapon, even if his skill is not tagged, the correct to do is to put in the section. If an important character have a taggued skills but no weapons directly in its inventory that can be used for this skill, he should not be in the section, since in-game and generally in the Fallout universe, he will never use this weapon (I think it's the best solution because the SPECIAL is not something totally reliable, the Master have only 3 in charisma when he should have a charisma of 10 easily for exemple, or 3 in intelligence for Marcus, I think you see where I'm coming ;).

• Apart from special case proving in-game that the person is competent in several combat skills (like Joshua Graham with his dialogue when he put into melee weapons, Fawkes with he first uses primary a supersledge and after a gatling laser or Frank Horrigan with simultaneous use of a knife and an energy weapon, in addition to killing a deathclaw in one punch), the best thing is to put it only on one page, the principal weapon he used, to avoid duplication and especially not re-view each time the same character.

• There is no need to put the number if we use a taggued skill, since it's a background section.

Yes. In fact we can not say that a person is a notable user of this skill if it can not even use it directly (no energy weapon in this inventory for exemple) and not have the habit of using it in-game. It works only for combat skills as we can see what weapon skill a person use in-game (also excluding Toshiro Kago, all important characters and companions have the skill taggued for their primary weapon).

For non combat skill, we can rarely see them in-game (except for Lenny (Doctor), Myron (Science) and Vic (Repair) in Fallout 2 and repair for some merchants in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas). It's better I think to rely on what we can see in-game, which really happening in the world of Fallout.

All Fallout mappers and GECK are things that are out-game and their data are not normally visible, and well, they are sometimes distorted as I have shown you, but they excel when we can not get directly the information in-game. Caravan cards[]

Since you've done a lot of work on the current Caravan card pages, I figured I'd coordinate with you regarding a new setup I'm planning :) Basically, I want to combine all the card pages into one ("Caravan card") with the names of the formerly separate pages linking to the corresponding entry on the combined page (similar to how Fallout: New Vegas keys works). I've created a first draft at User:Porter21/sandbox4; please let me know what you think. Personally, I think we should get rid of the GECK IDs since each card has an unique name anyway, but I wanted to hear other people's opinions first before I do that.

The "card decks" section on that page is not finished by the way - we're looking at 34-84 cards for each deck and I'm still pondering how to organize them so they don't use too much space. I added image links for all of the cards to the gallery in my sandbox - galleries just don't show images which do not exist anymore (if you edit the section you'll see it). I wasn't aware there are images of the actual ingame cards around somewhere. If you're referring to the Collector's edition card images which are currently used on the card pages, these should go on Fallout: New Vegas promotional items in my opinion as they aren't really images of the ingame items. -- Porter21 _(talk) 16:39, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Form IDs != GECK IDs; I was talking about the "CardClubs2b"-type IDs. Regarding the CE images, proper organization of content is more important than prominent image placement to be honest, and the card pages really do not have enough content to stand on their own. That said, we could move the CE caravan cards to an own page ("Caravan card (promotional item) entirely if you feel that they'd be drowned on the promotional items page. I see, thanks. In the game the only name is on the sign which simply says 'Sheriff's', but I see where you are coming from and I'll do that now. Also, just to let you know User:Nectu is removing all your Van Buren images, but I did drop him a friendly note just now, so give him a minute to pick that up first. Thanks to you too. I try to improve the images and was a bit shocked that some locations, like Rawhide Saloon, didn't exist on here. I've made it my very own mini-mission to add these locations, as well as fit in the FO1 and 2 cahracters project, which again I'm the only one doing at the moment ;). It's good fun though, and I can see why you are number one and why you put those spare hours in :)

Sorry about the late reply :). I accidentally capitalised department: I can assure you that I meant no offence to you whatsoever. Also I just forgot to add town because I was trying to do it as quick as possible for people. Vault 0[]

Older Fallouts[]

I would definitely recommend them, especially Fallout 2. There quite cheap at the moment and are certainly worth the money. I got both of them for less than £10 and probably less than 10 Euros. I understand what you mean too; it is indeed good fun editing on here, but can be very time consuming. Last night I spent at least 4 hours on pictures for Westin Ranch. The whole area shot took at least 20 different pictures. The only problem is with a newer computer it is very hard to get rid of the 'rainbow effect'. It took me two patches and a bit of tinkering with the installed software itself to get it going, but now I have 1366x768 resolution, which is very good really. Would you have problems getting it though? Talk soon :); .

Upon reflection, it seems unlikely you will have come across the term 'sterling' before, it really is a very English thing to say ;). Basically, great as well as consistent.

Sorry, I've been distracted by various things for a few hours, but I wanted to say that the way that you capture the light is very good indeed. Anyway, before I leave you so that you can complete what I'm sure will be greater works, I would like t6o suggest a few things, if I may. If you do get the time to play the older games, then I would strongly dissaude being a slaver. Nothing good comes of it and even extra caps become useless very fast. Also, it is a good idea to tag skills which you plan on using heavily, and to get Science and Lockpick to a decent level too. Lastly, have a decent Charisma (8ish) and then get the Magnetic Personality perk. 5 companions is always handy. I'm certainly not trying to patronise you, so don't take this the wrong way. Hi, i found an inconsistency in the timeline;

October 15: Colonel Spindel commits suicide. All scientists are executed

October 23: The Mariposa Military Base survives; the soldiers and scientists within protected from the radiation and FEV flooding the wasteland

but i am hesitant to change it as it may be because of the inconsistent information given in game so i am reporting it to you instead of changing it myself.

Map marker images[]

Well, the short answer is "next week or at the end of the month". The long answer is that today I want to finish cleaning up the FNV misc item overview and my "auto-join chat" script, tomorrow I'll start working on finally getting the new infoboxes done (which will take a few days) and then I'll start working on the mapping tools (starting with the map marker functionality since you're waiting for it). Yeah, local maps will be affected as well. What I call "mapping tools" basically encompasses world maps, map marker images and local maps. World maps and map marker images will be intertwined, i.e. the map marker images will basically be sections of the overall world map. It'll then be possible to add markers to all those maps without having to use an image program; you'll be able to do it directly from the wiki. I go with a split every single time purely to save confusion between DT and DR. Even though DR is not prevalent in FNV in favor of DT, it still exists in some cases (i.e. Rebreather). What you suggest is probably the only thing we can do, until reliable sources (e.g. non-Admin Chat Mods) are established, however the witnesses were reliable in my opinion. But I did suggest separating kickban into kick, and ban. With kick just banning them from chat, while ban bans them from both chat and the site. Capitalization policy[]

Sorry to be a bother (again), but Great Mara and I were wondering what the Vault's policy is on capitalizing directions while they are a part of a proper noun. An example would be Freeside's north gate, which is what it's called now. But shouldn't it be Freeside's North gate? Just wondering what your take on it is. There is some inconsistency on this site in regards to this. In the original The Vault:Anti-capitalization project it states "Please remember! Proper names like Fat Man, Stealing Independence, or Fort Constantine are not to be changed, nor are locations with a map marker even if that name isn't a proper name, such as Deathclaw Sanctuary." Yet this has not been added to the capitalizing section of the Vaults policy, remaining undefined in that respect. 20:29, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

At the time of the project all locations that appeared on the world map should be capped. However, since it isn't in the current policy, I can only assume 2 things. Either it wasn't added because some forgot to add it or felt it didn't need to be mentioned because it was obvious. Or it was removed and changed for various reasons at a later stage. Since I wasn't around at the time and it would be hard to track down any kind of change that might have happened at a later stage after the completion of the project, I cant really say. Chatroom problems[]

Regarding Richthofen, I'd say "in dubio pro reo". If no admin was around, we have no way to verify what has been said and simply going by the word of other users (no matter who they are) would just open up a can of worms I'd rather keep closed (i.e. we do it once, we'd have to keep doing it). I wouldn't block anyone for vandalism if I couldn't verify the vandalism myself either.

Regarding the current technical limitations and quirks, I'm well aware of those but I can't really do anything about it that you couldn't do yourself (i.e. submit the feedback via Special:WikiaLabs or post a comment on w:User blog:Ohmyn0/Chat is Now in Wikia Labs). As for adding the FO3 unmarked locations, unfortunately there's only 1 category per track possible. And you can add new category tracks via Special:AchievementsCustomize. I have been following this and I am with Porter. Regardless of how much you trust someone, once that door is open it cant be shut. I know there are some non-admins on here I would trust. But, on the other hand, that would be my personal opinion and as non-admins, they haven't been given that trust by the community. Doing this we are essentially becoming a tool for there interpretation (and not our own) of the rules, policies in the situation at hand when asking for a ban. There is a reason we have the whole process for inducting admins, and trusting a non-admin when banning someone is negating that process.

The one question I would ask, is what measure did they take at the time to prevent the abuse. Did they leave messages for admins to join chat and view it for themselves?

Chat feedback[]

Hi, I got your feedback about the Chat feature; thanks for sending it! Right now, we're trying to gather all the feedback and feature requests, so we can figure out what's important for the next revision. A chat log is definitely an interesting idea, but we haven't pursued it so far because the logistics just seem overwhelming. If chat is running 24/7 for a year and it's fairly active, then you end up with 365 long text files, which aren't that useful. We figure that most people who want to keep a record of a specific chat will end up doing a copy-and-paste onto a wiki page anyway. But if you have some ideas about how that would be helpful, then let me know! We're definitely looking for ways to make the chat better.

Some way or another, I found myself on the userpage of User:Paul Golden. Now, not only did he insult another user on Ausir's OWB giveaway blog post for no reason at all, his page is something that might concern you. I just don't see why he needs to put profanities there. Also, upon clicking his User talk page, it redirected me to the talk page of a page titled Breaded, which I believe was not a userpage, but a page in the main space. This issue confounds me. I read your post concerning me and my complaint on Tagaziel's page, and as I see you and Tagaziel already have made some conversation over it I don't feel the need to deeply analyze my actions any further. Tagaziel summed up my thoughts already, (Wiki transparency, etc.) and I felt what you did was somewhat uncalled for. Like I said, this is nothing personal and I wish to keep things simple and somewhat friendly - me being a fan of Fallout and therefore unnecesessary stir amongst the Vault would be undesired.

I replied to your link (the one which you showed me that contains the "insult") with a rather sneering reply, I admit, but I thought you might have figured the message out and explained me your behaviour. Which you did not. Therefore, reporting my concerns was the only available solution I had in hand. Whether or not you agree with my procedures, I do not think I have made something gravely wrong by reporting my experiences to the site administrator. I admit having being hasty what comes to judging what I should put on to my talk page, but since I hadn't received a single comment yet, I thought it might stay there - at least for a while. To summarize; I had not received any and all "fanboy rage" as I called it, hence the whole sentence being a cocky remark to the dogmatic style of fanboy culture. No offense inteded here, of course.

Perk bonus[]

I was looking on the page for the Man Opener and I see that it has the bonuses for the perks Ghoul Ecology and Superior Defender but none of the other weapons have the bonus listed under them. The page for Ghoul Ecology says the damage bonus is for all the enemies in the bugs section but does the superior defender only affect some of the weapons or do you want me to add the perks bonuses to all of the fallout 3 weapon pages. Ghoul Ecology I am aware of. Since it is never going to be patched now and does effect all weapons, I would treat the perk as if it does just that and add it to all weapons, this is regardless of whether it is intended to be that way or not. As for Superior Defender, that is a situational perk where certain criteria have to be meet in combat. The bug doesn't actually effect all weapons at all times, the bug is simply related to a false damage stats being shown in the PipBoy, it isn't applied to combat unless actually standing still. Howeee! Finally, the ban was removed! I'm writing this because the administrator, Crazy Sam10 has banned me without warning me first. I saw the talk page, saying that he and some of the others have been undoing EVERY edit I made. Of course, that isn't true, as I made some things that STAYED on the pages. I have two questions:

1. What are you going to do with Crazy Sam10?

2. Are my edits bad, at least at first time I edit them?

Yes, my English is not perfect, but it is okay. However, for the "solider", I need to change that becausew I will "reformate" the BoS characters, as the roles (for example, Knight) need to be put as ranks, while the roles (solider) need to be changed. For the Overseer page, I think it's a bit funny, but I guess seriousness should be first. And, I will speak to Crazy Sam10 when I get a chance. However, some contributors have warned me, but not him. Jury St. Metro Tunnel Map and Wonderous mole meat[]

I was wondering why you deleted my map with a little note to the position of the mole rat wonder meat section? GhostAvatar wrote its because it belongs on the wonder meat page.. i have a slight issue with this. It is IN the tunnel! Its an entity, a sort of symbiotic relationship, wonder meat is in the tunnels; the tunnels have the wonder meat. It shouldn't matter, some people don't like to have to go through link after link to find an exact location of something when it can be shown right there, right away! Of course it belongs on the wonder meat page but it should be clear on the jury tunnel page. A lot of times a simple "it's on the right all the way down by the tunnel entrance" or whatever is not good enough. What is the BIG deal!? I really, really want to know! Effects[]

Hey J,

iwas wondering if a perk like ghoul ecology would effect the overal damage of an explosion or burn effect and also since bloody mess effects your damage, would it add on 5% damage to the weapon with the +5 damage and the weapons base damage or just the weapons base damage.

It's no problem, it seems a lot of these incidents are popping up now where blocked users try to display some level of authority over admins or try to cite rules that don't exist.
