Bert was a resident of Vault 33 in the Fallout TV series.

Background[]

He married Steph Harper on March 17, 2294 and they consummated their marriage the same night, with Steph commenting that her wedding dress "got off almost as fast as BurtIn-game spelling, punctuation and/or grammar did." By 2296, they had conceived their first child.[1]

Per Steph's description, Bert was very fond of his shoes and kept them in very good condition; he would also talk about them so much to the point that he would bore everyone around him into leaving.

The End[]

Bert is part of the group that welcomes the Vault 32 dwellers into Vault 33 on the day of Lucy MacLean's wedding. When they see Lucy's soon-to-be husband Monty, Steph comments, "Lucky," with Bert giving her an appalled look from behind while Steph smiles, seemingly satisfied with his reaction. During the wedding reception in the atrium cornfield, Steph and Bert sit at the same table with Lucy and Monty. After Overseer Hank MacLean gives his speech, Bert and Steph are seen dancing in the background.

The Vault 32 dwellers later reveal themselves to be raiders, indiscriminately attacking the Vault 33 dwellers. Bert is caught in the chaos and is killed after his neck is sliced by one of the raiders. Steph is seen cradling his corpse before attacking the raiders, driven by grief and rage. This causes her to be stabbed in the eye with a fork, though she manages to grab a submachine gun and kill at least one raider.

Appearances[]

Bert appears only in the Fallout TV series episode "The End," while a portrait of his face is shown in "The Ghouls."

Behind the scenes[]

  • Steph's description on Amazon once said Bert was originally a resident of Vault 32 who was traded to Vault 33 as a "breeder" in exchange for some of Vault 33's mechanical and agricultural resources. However, this would raise questions as to why Bert did not recognize Lee Moldaver or any of her raiders from Vault 32. The description was later updated to never mention where Bert is from, making it possible it was an error or something that was retconned out.
  • In the subtitles for "The End," he is named Burt with a u in it; this is most likely an error, as in other episodes, as well as the preview of Steph Harper on the Fallout Season 1 page on Amazon, he is named Bert with an e in it.
  • In Prime Video X-Ray, Anthony Misiano was initially miscredited as Bert. Meanwhile, Diego Borborema posted behind-the-scenes photos of himself as Bert on Instagram to confirm his role.[2] The mistake was corrected on Prime Video by May 5, 2024.
