I'm intrigued, so I'll go to this reunion. I'll be handing things over to Calamity, so talk to her if anything comes up. Oh, you'll need my word from the pass phrase to get into the bunker - "friends." Don't forget it.Henry

The Remnants bunker is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

Following the destruction of their oil rig base and the New California Republic's assault on Navarro, the surviving members of the Enclave on the West Coast were scattered to the winds. Some members of the Enclave, the so-called Remnants took refuge in the bunker while others integrated into other towns and settlements. According to Judah Kreger, the bunker previously served as a minor-level vertibird refueling station.

Sometime later, as the remnants left the bunker and filtered out into new lives around the Mojave, Kreger placed the bunker in standby mode, expecting to return for it in a few years; the period of inactivity ended up spanning decades. Despite this, by 2281, the bunker remains in good working condition.[1]

Layout[]

Situated near Ranger Station Foxtrot, due east of Jacobstown, the entrance of which leads to the Pine Ravines pathway, the bunker entrance is a small trapdoor at the bottom of a den. The bunker's inner rooms can only be accessed during For Auld Lang Syne and requires visiting each of the five Enclave remnants around the Mojave with Arcade Gannon and gaining the five pieces of the password to unlock the bunker's door ("Dear old friends, remember Navarro"). After completing For Auld Lang Syne and exiting the bunker, the door will become inaccessible for the rest of the game.

The interior layout of the bunker is similar to the Hidden Valley bunker, itself modeled on the interior of Raven Rock from Fallout 3. The design is very linear. The entrance leads to a staircase, which opens into a small hangar. There is an Enclave vertibird, six suits of Enclave power armor, each individually protected by forcefields (and thus impossible to take), several armor and weapons lockers by the power armor (only one of which has loot in it), and a pair of crates near the back. All of the items are considered owned, but there is no Karma penalty for stealing them.

Beyond the hangar is a small planning room, where the Remnants will have gathered to decide which faction they should aid in the upcoming battle. Beyond the entrance to the north is a hollowed-out rock with random loot.

Notable loot[]

  • Gannon family Tesla armor - Given by Arcade Gannon outside the bunker's door if he was convinced to return to Freeside instead of fighting with the Remnants; if the latter choice was made, he keeps and wears the armor as he enters the bunker.

Judah Kreger: "This was a minor refueling station for vertibirds. It seemed an appropriate place to stash our equipment if we ever needed. I'm surprised this place hasn't fallen apart. When I put it into standby mode, I expected to return to it within a few years, not decades."
