The Cottonwood overlook is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[]
Once a part of a pre-War vacation spot, the outlook was largely ignored by Caesar's Legion when they took over the area as an outpost ahead of the Second Battle of Hoover Dam sometime around 2281.
Before the War, a shipment of radioactive barrels brought from San Onofre was sent to be stored at the overlook for unknown reasons while two other truckloads were stored at the fire station in Searchlight to the west.[1]
Layout[]
Situated slightly to the south of Cottonwood Cove, the area consists of a few boarded-up beach homes, two dumpsters, and a truck containing radioactive waste. There is a campfire located in front of a trailer.
Notes[]
The radioactive waste truck requires a minimum 50 Lockpick skill level to be opened, which results in the radioactive barrels spilling out onto Cottonwood Cove below; this satisfies the optional objective to clear the camp of legionnaires during Eye for an Eye.
