Vanessa was a member of the Gourmands raider group in Appalachia.
Background[]
Vanessa was married to Gregory, another member of the Gourmands. Together, the couple had a young daughter. Leader of the Gourmands, Morris Stevens, and his wife, Edie considered eating both Vanessa and Gregory when food began running low. Vanessa was a capable fighter and valuable to the Gourmands, so she was spared by Morris. After Gregory was killed and eaten, Morris and Edie were expelled from the group.[1][2]
