The Sacramental Glade is a location in the Cranberry Bog region of Appalachia in Fallout 76. Previously known as Cranberry Glade, it was renovated and renamed by the Cult of the Mothman at the time of the Once in a Blue Moon update.

The public event Beasts of Burden takes place here.

The Sacramental Glade is a natural cranberry glade[Non-game 1] that served as a park before the War. It consisted of a network of wooden walkways throughout a marshy thicket.

The site was settled by the Cult of the Mothman in 2104.[1] The cultists were tracking an Ogua in the area, and decided to build shelters in the glade while preparing for their hunt. They hoped to sacrifice the creature to the Mothman.[2] The Cult began incubating mothman eggs within one of these sealed, elevated shacks for safekeeping.

During this time, one of the cult members, Elder Adelaide, met Luca Costa, a Blue Ridge Caravan Company traveling merchant. The Elder posed as a trader and lured Luca Costa into an ambush. Though he escaped, the cult took possession of his pack animal, his supplies, and a number of crude explosives and kept them in the glade.[3][4]

Set in a marshy thicket and built on a pre-War network of wooden walkways, the Sacramental Glade consists of several elevated wooden shacks and outdoor ritual spaces. There is one small shack on the ground level, and a barn-like structure.

Notable loot[]

  • A blessed gift - Note, on the northern end of the location, along the rope bridge levels, on a small bench at a circular area covered by several canopies.
  • A worthy sacrifice - Note, on the western side of the location, near its entrance. It is at an elevated shrine area, near several candle shrines and a coffin, on a small bench.

Notes[]

  • There are small empty elevated cultist shacks which can only be entered during the event.
  • Cultists spawn here during the Beasts of Burden event. They have no animation markers in the area, and will mill about when inactive. They may wade out into the mists that pool here.
    • As of Expeditions: Atlantic City, cultists now populate the Glade normally, regardless of whether the event has been recently activated. They still have no animation markers.
  • The closest cultist presences are the ritual camp at Old Mold Quarry and the bonfire due south of Watoga.
  • When standing on a particular section of the elevated walkways, Pylon V-13 can be seen through a clearing in the trees.

Appearances[]

The Sacramental Glade appears only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Once in a Blue Moon update.

Behind the scenes[]

Among the developers who worked on the creation of the Sacramental Glade was Double Eleven level designer Courtney Raine, who also worked on Nuka-World on Tour.[Non-game 2]
