The Summersville Lake is an unmarked location in the Forest region of Appalachia.
Layout[]
Before the Great War, Summersville Lake was a reservoir created by the Summersville Dam on the Kanawha River.[Non-game 1] In 2082, raider David Thorpe destroyed the dam, letting the reservoir flood through the nearby city of Charleston in what would be called the Christmas Flood. Summersville Lake subsequently became a dry lake bed.
Near the center of the former lake is New Gad, a post-War settlement constructed on the ruins of the town of Gad, which had been submerged by the reservoir.[1][Non-game 2] The Lakeside Cabins sit on the north shore, overlook cabin on the east shore, the Summersville Docks on the west shore, and the destroyed Summersville Dam is to the south.
Beside the wreckage of a sailed ship, a skeleton with a pistol has its feet encased in concrete, alluding to a mob-style murder that took place before the war. Another skeleton with hands and feet bound, tied to cinder blocks is found to the west.

- The Summersville Lake is an actual reservoir in West Virginia created in 1960 with the construction of the real-world Summersville Dam.
- Within the dry lake and east of the Lakeside Cabins, near a red boat, is a female skeleton lying on a door, reaching out to a partially-sunken arm from another skeleton. The scene is a reference to the characters Rose and Jack from the 1997 film Titanic.
