Dark Hollow Manor, known as the Stolz Manor before the Great War, is a location in the Skyline Valley region of Appalachia. It is located in Shenandoah National Park.

Background[]

It was the home of Hugo Stolz, Cassidy Stolz and their daughter Audrey Stolz before the Great War. An entrance to Vault 63 was constructed underneath the manor, leading directly into the overseer's office in the Vault 63 atrium.

On the day of the Great War, two deliveries, at least one of which was from a regional Vault-Tec headquarters, were meant to deliver survival supplies to the manor.[1] The first convoy arrived without incident. However, the second convoy never arrived, seemingly due to some sort of difficulty occurring in the swamps to the east where it was stranded; the employees at the manor were unaware of their situation, only that they were late.[2] The Great War removed any possibility of its arrival.

Layout[]

Exterior[]

The Dark Hollow Manor grounds are a hostile, heavily devastated area filled with Lost of all variants and fissures encircling the manor, many of which have toxic purple puddles that deal proximity damage. The Storm in Skyline Valley is strongest in this area, and lightning strikes may often occur. The manor grounds are demarcated by a highly damaged white stone wall, with the entrance gate in the north, at the end of a dirt road that branches off of Skyline Drive to the east. These grounds include a parking lot and a large garden area, including a gazebo, a fountain, and a gardener's shed, most of which are now destroyed.

In the southeast corner of the manor grounds, there is a large tree that has several skeletons underneath it. A hostile mega sloth may drop from the tree when approaching.

Interior[]

Only the manor's entrance hall and basement are accessible.
