Before the Great War, they were used for goods transport, utilized by companies such as Vault-Tec, Grafton Steel and Lobster Grill. After the war, derelict vans are found scattered across the region, some of which included supplies in the back that can be acquired. Others are utilized by hermit crabs as substitute shells.

A van with a large cargo area used by pre-War companies. The windshield extends into arching windows over the driver and passenger seats. Double doors on the back of the van provide access to the cargo area.
