This unnamed Soviet satellite was a space satellite built by the Soviet Union that crashed somewhere near Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles , California .
Background [ ] This crashed satellite was once built and owned by the USSR. While the satellite was heavily damaged from its orbital reentry, it remained mostly intact, with some parts of its machinery still clearly visible.[1]
The satellite was painted red and was powered by two solar panels. The bottom of the satellite housed what seems to be a sophisticated camera and communications system, indicating that it was built largely for surveillance purposes. The camera was a large red spherical structure with the Russian abbreviation "СССР" emblazoned onto it.[1]
Appearances [ ] The Soviet satellite appears in the Fallout TV seriesepisodes "The Target " and "The Head ."
Behind the scenes [ ] This is only the second piece of post-divergence Soviet technology to be shown in the Fallout franchise, after the AK-112 assault rifle.
