The Vault 4 dwellers are residents of Vault 4 in the Fallout TV series.

Background[]

Many of the Vault 4 dwellers are the mutated descendants of subjects of genetic experiments performed by the original inhabitants of the Vault, who were scientific staff working under Lloyd and Cassandra Hawthorne. Others are refugees accepted into the Vault after the destruction of Shady Sands.

Fallout TV series[]

The Past[]

Lucy and Maximus each awaken on a stretcher, and as Maximus is curious about where they are, Lucy answers that they're in a Vault. The two would then peer out their room window and see various Vault 4 dwellers roaming around the Vault.

The Trap[]

Soon after, Maximus' injury is treated by the Vault 4 doctor and his nurse. The two would sit in the dining area where the Vault 4 dwellers enjoyed themselves and were all curiously happy and nice to one another. Despite Maximus' concern, Lucy was glad to be in a Vault again. They'd then be visited by a Vault 4 dweller named Birdie and then Overseer Benjamin, who startled Lucy with his one eye. After they leave, Lucy notices that some of the residents there have unnatural mutations, one of whom was the doctor who treated Maximus.

When Maximus finds his missing T-60 power armor, a few Vault 4 dwellers are seen walking nearby, and one is changing a lightbulb beside him. Maximus would then ask him about where they get their power from.

Afterward, as Maximus acclimates to the Vault life, he exits his room where and stops a Vault 4 dweller to ask him what small tin of food he is eating.

Meanwhile, Lucy explores a classroom that has an NCR flag, and its chalkboard has a brief history about Shady Sands. She'd then see a bunch of Vault 4 dwellers head into the center area and learn from the nurse who assisted in Maximus' treatment, informing her that they're participating in a surface dweller ritual. One that was a little too "rambunctious" for his tastes. As the nurse leaves, a Vault 4 dweller couple invites Lucy to join them, and she agrees.

Amid the ritual led by Birdie, Lucy partly follows the Vault 4 dwellers' ritualistic actions for said ritual. She'd then become alarmed after learning it's a cult worship for the NCR and Lee Moldaver.

Soon after, Lucy would enter the forbidden Level 12 area where she'd fight against the doctor and several Vault 4 dwellers who would restrain her as she cried they were all crazy.

The Radio[]

Sometime after watching a video about the dark history of Vault 4, Lucy was subjected to being executed by Overseer Benjamin and overseen by Birdie and the Vault 4 dwellers. The execution was by exile, and after it was performed, Maximus, in his T-60 power armor powered by Vault 4's fusion core. He'd arrived at the scene where he thrashed and attacked the Vault 4 dwellers and Vault 4 guards until Lucy cleared things up with him. Upon learning this, Maximus apologizes to the Vault 4 dwellers for his actions.
