The End[]

The Brotherhood is introduced with a cut to several aspirants in white T-shirts in the desert, all beating a peer into the dirt. The victim, Maximus, becomes the perspective character; when they're done with Maximus, Dane approaches Maximus and tries to console the beaten-up Maximus. As they head off, several other aspirants are seen performing their daily duties.

Afterward, within the Brotherhood of Steel airbase hanger, Cleric Felix teaches the studious aspirants their purpose of becoming a squire to a knight of the Brotherhood of Steel. He's shown to act in a physically disciplinary way when Maximus gets an answer wrong that he asked.

Just then, the Prydwen arrives, drawing the attention of the aspirants there, and watching as the knights in their T-60 power armor arrive. Maximus wondered why they were there and would later perform latrine duties until Dane stopped him and took him to the hangar where the T-60 power armor suits were at. Maximus was enamored by it until officers Shortsight and another had business with Dane.

Early the next morning, several aspirants are seen tossing cement scraps into a makeshift basketball hoop. Inside the cabins for the aspirants, some aspirants were seen preparing themselves as Maximus woke up and saw a commotion outside made by his fellow aspirants. There, Maximus learns that Dane was one of the many anointed to squire. As Dane and his fellow aspirants follow him into a cabin, Maximus despondently watches him.

That night, Maximus overhears many of his peers talk about who will be anointed next, and has a meltdown over it.

The next day, Maximus, Thaddeus and his fellow aspirants awaken to the sound of Dane screaming in pain to learn that someone placed a razor blade in their boot. Ultimately, Maximus is blamed for the incident and is taken into questioning for it. While being led to his interrogation, some aspirants were seen performing physical combat training against each other.

Elder Cleric Quintus interrogates Maximus over the plausibility of being a suspect for Dane's injury and, in the end, passes Dane's anointment to him and assigns him to Knight Titus.

When Maximus visits Dane in the infirmary, an injured aspirant is seen lying on a cot. Dane and Maximus talk to each other, and when asked who Dane suspects injured them, they answer that they've narrowed it down to Thaddeus and his cohorts.

Eventually, some aspirants, including Thaddeus, sit in observation of Maximus' anointment ceremony.

Later, aspirants are seen in the multi-single file crowds where Elder Cleric Quintis announces to the knights and their newly appointed squires their task. It involved hunting a Enclave member with a dangerous device in his possession. Paper copies of the target are passed around by Thaddeus and one of his minions.

Once the speech was over and the papers with the targets were passed around, the aspirants watched as the knights and their respective squires headed off.
