What's that supposed to mean? I don't know what kind of utopia you think you came from, but from what I've heard, Appalachia's got plenty of problems of its own. Nukes all over, monsters with green crystals growing out of their skin... This place may have thick air and rads out the ass, but it's home. And once we beat the Fanatics, we're gonna make it better than it ever was. That much I can promise.

Hex is the leader of the Union's Local 42 in The Pitt. She is initially located in the Industrial district and will move to the Penn after being found.

Background[]

Hex has been trying to salvage Pittsburgh for years after the Great War. The city's worsening state has left her both disheartened, yet motivated to save its remains. Hex mentions that most of the city's freedom fighters were hardly more than children while trying to care for the city and its people. Hex hints that she once woke up to her best friend trying to strangle her because radiation exposure damaged their brain.

By 2104, Hex wishes to reclaim the Pitt from the Fanatics and aims to gather volunteers to perform a raid on the Foundry. Although the Foundry was once claimed by the Union and reclaiming it will not be an easy task for the Union, Hex recognizes the Foundry's vast resources could prove to be a turning point in the local civil war.

She knew Skippy Roerich before he left for Appalachia, and thought that he would abandon the Union like many others she knew; however, she was relieved when he sent help from volunteers working with the Responders.[1] Hex was also familiar with Pat Gerber, a member of the Local 29, and once showed him the corpse of a trog.[2]
