The alien disintegrator is a ranged weapon in Fallout 76, introduced in the Invaders from Beyond update.
Background[]
Designed with the appearance of a rifle, the alien disintegrator is the preferred long range weapon of alien invaders, allowing them to fire at enemies from a distance while minimizing incoming damage to their power armor. The alien invader can wield the disintegrator in one hand, allowing them to throw plasma grenades with their free hand. It is the preferred weapon of General Zeta.
Characteristics[]
The alien disintegrator is a powerful energy rifle. It fires glowing projectiles with visual travel time, is made primarily of a steel-like metal, and pulses different colors depending on the receiver. On the side is a ringed cap which flips open so ammo may be inserted. This version of the weapon more closely resembles its counterpart from the Fallout 3 add-on Mothership Zeta, than its counterpart from the Fallout 4 Creation Club content "Zetan Arsenal."

- Can only be crafted or received from Purveyor Murmrgh. With update 36, it may now drop from legendary enemies if the Plan: Alien disintegrator is known.
Notes[]
- The alien disintegrator lacks a sight model. This makes aiming in first-person perspective rather difficult.
- The alien disintegrator cannot use cryo or poison damage conversions with the automatic fire mode.
- The alien disintegrator can spawn with ammunition quantities ranging from 6, 11, 18 to 24 alien blaster rounds.
- A non-playable version of the weapon may be wielded by alien invaders. These have a different rate of fire, reload speed, and scaling damage values than the playable versions. They will only use the standard mod loadout.
- Prior to patch 1.7.11.12 the Alien disintegrator was untradable.
- Despite this change, the receiver mods retained the NonPlayerTradable keyword and prevent the weapon from being traded until the mods are removed.

Behind the scenes[]
- This weapon originally appeared in the Mothership Zeta add-on for Fallout 3.
- The alien disintegrator uses a unique set of handling animations. As a result, its model is different than Alien disintegrator (Creation Club), which had shared animations with the plasma rifle.
