The ripper is a melee weapon in Fallout 76.

Background[]

A short-bladed, handheld chainsaw-like device, this model of ripper was used by the US military before the Great War both as a weapon and as a general-purpose cutting tool, however, they are relatively rare finds.

Characteristics[]

From the bottom to the top this weapon has a fuel tank that doubles as a handhold, a small motor-like device just up from the handhold, the chain, and a small guard for the top of the chain.

Locations[]

Rippers may spawn randomly in the world at locations with melee weapon spawns.

Notes[]

  • The ripper previously could not drop as a legendary weapon. Legendary versions could only be found in vault raid dungeons prior to their closing in Wastelanders. They were added back to the legendary pool with the Expeditions: The Pitt update.
  • The +40% Melee Speed 2-star legendary weapon effect does not do anything for the Ripper and similar auto melee weapons such as the Chainsaw and Auto Axe. At best, it just decreases weapon draw / sheathe time.
