Behind the scenes[]

The name "Mare's Leg" originated from the 1950s Western television series Wanted Dead or Alive, where it was used as the name of the protagonist Josh Randall's weapon, Randall also being a bounty hunter like the Ghoul. It has since become a generic name for any Winchester Model 1892 rifle with a shortened stock and barrel.
