The first that came to mind was NUKAPEDIA with Take the Leap beneath it. Yes, there's not really a name that stands out. Looking at the votes, Fallout Universe, GECKipedia and Nukapedia would be up for a final vote, but I wouldn't be made happy with that. I feel we should stick to just Fallout Wiki and maybe in the future someone will have an ingenious suggestion. I'm also curious as to what Kingclyde has to say about it. Hope you don't mind me responding... I read your post to Js, for me it seems that some are abbreviated like "PE" whereas others "PER" or some even "Perception". Personally I'd change 'em all to the full name - "Intelligence" just for simplicity and clarification and consistency, but that's just me. Listen, as you said, people are entitled to their opinions. I won't change my opinion because others do not like it, neither should anyone for that matter. I appreciate you posting to me about this. Here's my stance: I think you're a cool person also, and I think your usefulness in chat is undeniably high. You're constantly there and you're quite respectful too, from what I've seen. In addition, you have been making main namespace edits that are helpful. I simply want to see bigger contributions, not saying that your current ones are totally insignificant or anything. Having someone to look up to is perfectly fine... it helps build a foundation to work up from. However, you shouldn't let that person become a narrow minded horizon where their opinion lords over your emotions and point of view. He was only showing a little criticism with additional concerns over one of your comments. (I sort of saw it as a threat also, to be honest.) Criticism should never drag you down... it should help you grow and learn just what it takes to become the best. I gave you a neutral vote also; doesn't mean I don't think you are worthy of a chat mod position. (Just look at all of the positive votes towards you.) What I'm trying to say is, strive to become the best. FONV Gameplay bugs: faction armor unequipping[]

Hi, you have reverted my change on the "unequip faction armor" bug. i extended the description because it just ran into this bug and it looked incomplete to me. It sounds like if you have this bug you have to re-equip any faction armor to fix it, which is not true. i wanted to point out that you have to re-equip a armor from the same faction that caused the bug to fix it. In my case i had used a Brotherhood power armor that was not unequipped correctly. the next NCR post attacked me for no visible reason (i didnt have any reputation at NCR). With a NCR armor they did not attack me, but as soon as i unequip it they did. i tried equipping a legion armor multiple times, but it helped nothing. i had to use player.additem to get a brotherhood armor and as soon as i equipped and unequipped it the NCR did not attack me anymore. also changing the reputation does not help with that bug, if you are appear to be dressed wrong to other factions, they will attack you even if you are "idolized" by them. i have tried it and can confirm that setreputation is not a fix for this. i have read some threads about people that got this bug and needed to load earlier saves or restart their game, a good description on that fix could help.

You verified for pc (and according to the picture), I verified on ps3 (that's what I play on), and for this type of bug, logically it would also be for Xbox360. Of course, I don't actually have proof of that, so you are welcome to test that out (or find someone who can). Achievement Boosting[]

I hate to do this, but a user has brought it to my attention that you might be boosting for VB badges. After we investigated into the matter, we found quite a few VB pages where you have added some questionable content, even one where you made 10 different edits within half an hour that had to be reverted by one of our Admins. And another one here and here where you added a link just to remove it soon after. Here are the pages that are working against you at the moment: [1][2][3][4] You can throw up a forum to discuss the reasons for these edits, but right now it looks like you might be boosting. I've been called in to place a verdict on this, and I find some of your edits questionable, but in no way warranting a ban. Nemerian[]

Please don't make assumptions about me. I have never "hated" anybody here, and I never will. The reason I banned Nemerian is because for months now, he has been getting on every day just to make around 1-3 extremely minor edits that are usually reverted or fixed by other users shortly after being made. Even Clyde agreed with me that he might need a ban, just not a ban classified as achievement boosting. (Which I didn't ban him over if you read my ban-logs.) I wanted to give him a chance to take the warnings on his talk-page seriously, but his edits have not improved even in the slightest since then. The last straw was that most recent edit from him where he unnecessarily changed wording around and created false information and broken sentences. What's Wrong With Chat?[]

Yo Hawk, for some reason, chat crashed for me last night. Now whenever I join, none of your names come up, and the chat is just an empty box where I can type things. And when I do, it just skips a line when I hit 'Enter'. And whenever I go over one of your usernames in the box where it says "Join The Chat", your usernames are stretched out. Tech demo[]

What you want with the tech demo then? I've been never been able to go farther than the opening location and the vault. And the console command option (~) doesn't work properly. Only can activate it during the intro and when I then use it to get to a map, I end up in the starting location. Once in the demo it doesn't work anymore. how is making note of the fact that there is a limit to how much you can wager against ringo, and win, before your game will freeze up on you, causing you to lose any unsaved data, considered 'strategy'? it's useful information. is it the part where i made note of the exploit that ringo will continue to bet the same amount, once he reaches a certain point, that is considered strategy? how can i improve my editing technique when my edits are deleted and then reasoned with very general reprimands? what are you guys defining as strategy? ~~~kev~~~

are bug sections still allowed on pages like these or are all bugs supposed to be listed on the bugs page instead? it's not just a freezing issue, the bug is more than that because there is a point just before the freezing point where ringo will not decrease his bid anymore when he loses. ~~~kev~~~

on the page you mentioned there is a section that states; for non-player character-specific bugs, please see the respective non-player character article page. the edit i have been trying to make (without including strategy) details a bug that is specific to the NPC Ringo. there are also similar bugs correlated to other 'no game limit' NPCs who play caravan (such as Dale Barton), but their bet limits, before the freeze will occur, and where they will continue to bet the same amount after they've lost, appear to be different. when i first started researching this, i had ringo almost completely figured out, and someone else had made edits concerning dale's bug limits. back then, user:Gothemasticator had invited me to work on this topic. i would like to follow through with my research and edits on this subject, but all these reverts, conflicting information, and subjective guidelines are making it hard for me to do so. so, what is the solution? where does this bug information actually belong, and can i even make the edits without someone immediately deleting them instead of helping me modify them to be suitable to the guidelines? ~~~kev~~~

People are bored[]

I remember that comment, it was one I posted on one of Agent c's blogs I think. I know it's at least partly responsible for it, because I've been around since New Vegas came out, so I know how it was between let's say November 2010 - October 2011. And I don't remember the word 'drama' mentioned even once in that timespan. Only thing that springs to mind is Tag's reconfirmation request. Otherwise it was all editing and people getting along in general. And there is also some negative aftermath from the split with key people leaving, like Ausir and Porter21. A lot of people need to find their new role in the wiki and get accustomed to it, like Clyde, me and the admins. So now we're without a game and people are bored. Editing isn't that interesting anymore, it's mostly perfecting stuff or some work on older games which only a handful of people want to do. Things like the Nuclear Moose and the polls help but looks like it's not enough. It will be a pretty long wait till the next Fallout, but we'll get by I think. Jspoel 20:43, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Hello, HawK. This is a message that I will be circulating through Nukapedia's Sysops. A while back I had created a more suitable version of the Administrators' Discussion Board as an attempt to help regulate important matters that require immediate attention from the veteran users around Nukapedia. With Fallout 4 on the horizon, I would like to begin making this feature more widely embraced, so that we all are more comfortable and familiar with using it for when the time comes around that we'll need to look towards it the most. What I would like to see is for an example to be set for where certain matters should be discussed within our community, as well as creating an environment where users will know that their issues will be addressed in a timely and fair manner. What does this mean, exactly?

• Appropriate topics should be addressed within the ADB instead of the normal fora space. Not only is the ADB a general area to condense important topics, but it is also always kept at the top for easy access. (As well as having a place within the Community Messages.)
• All Administrators, Moderators, Patrollers, and Bureaucrats should make it a priority to check through the ADB at least once every few days or so. This is the duty of mantling the extra tools, after all, and is not too much to ask for.
• The ADB should make an appearance within new user's welcome message.
• If a topic within the fora has been made that is of significant importance and affects the wiki as a whole, these topics should be moved into the ADB.
  • It is my hope that these requirements will help our community become more familiar with where they should go to have their grievances and ideas properly heard. Right now, the ADB has been largely ignored because the Sysops have also largely ignored it, and this is unacceptable at times when important matters such as this one are mostly by-passed except for a couple of people. With the chaos that is soon to come with the new title(s), all I am asking is for a bit of responsibility in making sure that we all recognize issues and ideas as they come up, and making sure that we do our parts in seeing them through. Thank you for reading, and I would greatly appreciate some feed-back. Once a general consensus has been reached, possible changes will be taken care of.

2nd Person Perspective[]

Hello Hawk. I just wanted to thank you for working on removing the second person perspective from articles. One thing though, 'the player' is also a second person variation and shouldn't be used in the articles either. In addition, replacing the word 'you' with 'the Courier' is often clunky in most cases. My advice would be to try and re-write sentences without using any perspective at all; 1st (obviously), 2nd, or 3rd. 'The player' implies the person sitting in front of the screen, as does 'you' or 'we' (although the latter is first person). We are trying to write from 3rd person, which is the perspective of the character within the game. I remember from before that you had mentioned having access to the Van Buren demo. Trying to finish up the stub removal project, I have been removing the bad stub links for Van Buren article-pages, and I noticed that for a few of the weapons, that a small number of them are found in the demo's game files, and be spawned with the use of console commands. A good example would be the hand flamer. Is there any chance that you can jump back into the demo and confirm which weapons can be spawned through the use of console commands, and the current information regarding their stats? Hey man I was just messing around. It seems unfair that I got banned when there were 2 other people doing the exact same things with me. I wasn't doing any more or less than they were, and I was the only one to get banned. I feel like it was because of my religious comment, which I apologized for (even if I did a bad job of doing so.) I wanted to apologize for acting like that, but the entire chat was filled with that. It wasn't just me. I wasn't the only one posting links to pictures, and i wasn't the only one acting childish. If someone had told me to act more mature I would have, but since everyone who was messing around was getting kicked from the chat every few minutes, I assumed you guys were just having fun too.

Chat moderation responsibilities[]

Unfortunately, after discussion with J and Clyde, we feel it necessary to remind you of the behavior that we expect from chat moderators:

• You are expected to treat all chat users with courtesy and respect. As extra rights holders of this community, your behavior is representative of Nukapedia as a whole, and it should represent that. We expect users to be able to experience chat in an environment where our chat mods are polite, respectful and, when needed, helpful. Chat moderators should never, in any instance, treat users in any way that could be construed as abusive or insulting, regardless of whether the user is in chat for the first time, comes to chat rarely or is a frequent user.

• You are expected to uphold all the chat rules (and site policies and Wikia ToU) as they are written and agreed upon by the community. You do not have the freedom to decide which rules to enforce and which not to. If you disagree with a rule or policy, you are still required to enforce them as written as long as they remain policy. If you refuse to enforce all the rules as written, you are not fulfilling your duties and the trust the community placed in you to moderate chat properly.

• You are expected to comport yourself in such a fashion that you never break any of the chat rules, site policies or Wikia ToU while in chat. Moderators that break the rules themselves, even if it's a rule you disagree with, set a bad example for others to break the rules, or confuse users over what is permissible. It is an abuse of powers to break the rules yourself while you enforce them on others.

• Your enforcement of the rules is expected to be fair and, most importantly, consistent. You can not show favoritism to any user over another when enforcement of rules applies. The rules apply to everyone: new users; old users; your friends; other moderators; and you, yourself. Showing favoritism by enforcing the rules unevenly confuses users over what is permissible and is a gross abuse of powers.

• You are expected to respect any other chat moderators, moderators, administrators and bureaucrats who are moderating chat. All these extra rights users are granted chat moderator rights by the community and are expected to use them properly when in chat. If you disagree with a decision made by another moderator or sysop, you should discuss it in PM, not in the main chat. Our moderators need to display consistent behavior and openly arguing with other moderators or sysops in chat is not acceptable under any circumstance, as it undermines a our overall enforcement of the chat rules. If you disagree with a decision by another chat moderator, which you have every right to, we expect you to voice those disagreements privately and come to a consensus, bringing in another moderator if needed, before any further actions.

• You are expected to work with all chat moderators, moderators, administrators and bureaucrats in chat. You are not, by the nature of being a moderator, solely responsible for chat. Chat moderation is a shared duty by all the moderators and sysops. Chat is not a domain where you have greater authority over any other moderator or sysop by the nature of you being a moderator or in chat more than they. All moderators and sysops are fully aware of the rules that apply in chat and have been trusted by the community with the tools to moderate it. Their decisions do not carry less weight in chat than yours.

• You are expected to understand that chat is not a separate domain. It is fully a part of this wiki, a tool used to facilitate communication between users of the wiki. Nukapedia chat is not some off-site chat room and you should not treat it as such.

Your behavior in chat must meet all the expectations outlined above. The rules and policies apply to us all, and apply evenly. You must understand that any violations of the chat rules, or abuse of your moderator powers, will result in the same enforcement all users are subject to. By the very nature of holding an extra rights position, your behavior must be above reproach. You are expected to implicitly understand this as a condition of accepting those rights. Chat conduct guideline changes[]

Hey Hawk. In light of Saint Pain's chat ban and after some discussion with Leon and J I've decided to do some minor re-writes to the chat conduct guideline page. Basically what I'm looking to do is:

• Remove the current ban guidelines and give more leeway for mods to ban people on a case-by-case basis
• Add a provision for perma-banned users to appeal their ban immediately to a bureaucrat

There's a few other re-wordings and some stuff moved around, but those are the big things I think need need changing. You can find a draft here. Understand that adding the bureaucrat review is not to challenge your or any other mods authority, but simply makes the review neutral as opposed to a popularity contest (which in the case of a community vote it definitely can be).
