The Here and Now perk immediately grants an additional experience level, complete with all the advantages thatIn-game spelling, punctuation and/or grammar brings.— In-game description

Here and Now is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

Effects[]

Taking this perk grants an additional experience level, essentially acting as an instant level-up.

Notes[]

  • Because a perk can only be selected every even-numbered level, getting this perk puts the player character at the next odd-numbered level and needing to gain experience to reach the next even-numbered one.
  • The perk can only be taken once and has no additional ranks. As a level cap of 50 (with all add-ons installed) only allows for 25 perks to be obtained, taking this one signifies giving up one potential perk to get to the next level. One might need it for quickly raising an intended skill to a desired level, but it largely is a questionable choice of a perk.
  • If one performs the perk glitch of obtaining more than 15 perks, this perk can be used to stop from leveling up from level 10 onward. One still loses out on a more beneficial perk, but now the XP gain goes on like a normal game after level 10.

Bugs[]

PCPC This perk cannot be selected past level 34, because each add-on increases the level cap by 5. Since the toolset cannot load all installed add-ons at once, it is difficult to determine the actual level allowed. The player can still calculate and set it manually if they have access to the toolset (calculate number of add-ons installed * 5).[verified]
