Vol.3 Ch.113: 52F - Defensive Battle (1)

52F - Defensive Battle (1): This is the hundred and thirteenth chapter of Volume 3 of Tower of God. It follows Jinsung in his defensive battle against Pudidy and Holan. Meanwhile Baam, with the help of Vicente, is uncovering something dangerous.

Synopsis[]

At Ha Jinsung's side in front of a tunnel in the wall, Lo Po Bia Pudidy and Lo Po Bia Holan are facing up against Jinsung, with Pudidy being surprised at Jinsung being released and thinking that he should have brought Eagle Owl with him and wondering what Khun Maschenny Zahard is up to. Holan offers to fight Jinsung while Pudidy charges after Twenty-Fifth Baam, but Pudidy rejects this idea since Holan is not a match for Jinsung yet. Pudidy makes the decision that they will fight together against Jinsung. Pudidy pulls out a cluster of wings from his sling bag and throws them, creating several small owls called Red-Eyed Owls that charge towards Jinsung. Meanwhile Pudidy, taking point in the front, asks Holan to support him from behind. Jinsung dodges backwards into the tunnel while destroying the small owls one at a time, which leads Pudidy to think Jinsung is buying time, so Pudidy goes on the offensive by lighting the remaining owls on fire and making them explode before charging ahead to the location he thinks Jinsung is at. However, Jinsung did not back off as far as Pudidy thought. After charging through an explosion, he is face to face with Jinsung, and gets hit by a martial arts attack from Jinsung, with Jinsung noting that Pudidy seem rusty after fighting just weak opponents.

Pudidy is annoyed. He decides to overwhelm Jinsung with numbers, summoning a whole congress of red-eyed owls that he lights on fire and sends to explode on Jinsung. The attacks push Jinsung back slightly before Pudidy clears the way and allows Holan to summon his ancient spearfish Aegirocassis and get a straight shot at Jinsung, which Jinsung blocks, but not without being pushed back further. Pudidy is pleased by the results and engages Jinsung in melee in order to continue pushing Jinsung, which leads to Jinsung going on the offensive through a flurry of punches against Pudidy, who gets routed back to his original position prior to the exploding owls. Pudidy pulls out another bunch of wings and gets ready to engage Jinsung again.

Inside The Frozen Waterfall, Baam hears the voice of the creature sealed within the Suspendium, with the creature noting that Baam is the first one in a long time that could hear its voice. It is excited to meet the one that can send Lo Po Bia Traumerei to his doom. Baam feels that the creature he is about to wake up is incredibly dangerous.

Hello ^^, it's Monday again. Today, I drew Mr. Ha with one-tone gradation coloring. This kind of coloring works best when the background is realistic, but since I can't do that due to copyright issues (even though this work is not commercial), I just tried to make similar vibes hehe. If I ever end up working on something more realistic, I want to do more studies on it. I drew it like this is Mr. Ha in his 20's and 30's.... but it doesn't look like much has changed heh.

Recently Mr. Ha just can't catch a break when it comes to his arms heh. Lorewise, he got weaker from his peak days, but he is still a strong High Ranker, especially when it comes to close combat. He does take the hit when he's faced with things like Kallavan's max-level defense, Arie swords, or Shinwonryu, but the way the match-ups work, he would be able to beat easily those who Kallavan would have a hard time fighting in a 1v1 matchup. Since there's been a lot of battles between High Rankers, I wonder how big the scale should be. This is a battle between lore and aesthetic, so sometimes aesthetic wins, sometimes the lore wins.

Since COVID's making it's round again these days, I'm seeing a few people around me coming down with it as well. Everyone, please be careful. I'm finding that I'm not meeting too many people these days either. This is why you should read webtoons, to stave off the loneliness hehe. I am able to work and interact with you guys online, but I want to see everyone being able to laugh and chat without worry outside. I'll draw my webtoon week by week while waiting for that day to come.
