Great Warriors are incredibly powerful warriors who accompanied King Zahard in climbing and conquering the Tower. They were "Zahard's companions". They are all technically Irregulars, but they are not considered so in the current Tower society.

After Zahard stopped climbing the Tower, only 10 Great Warriors ultimately became Great Family Heads, the leader of the families known as the 10 Great Families in modern Tower society.

About[]

The 10 Great Warriors are the founders and heads of the 10 Great Families, thus possessing great political power as well as great combat prowess. They are among the strongest Rankers in the Tower, and some of them are even ranked as high as within the Top 10 High Rankers.

It is worth noting that Zahard and the 10 Great Warriors were not alone when they climbed the Tower. They had helpers, including Grace Mirchea Luslec and Quadrado. Who, while not as powerful as the Great 13, were noted and implied to be formidable in their own right. As implied by the book in Gustang’s library, another helper of the Great Warriors was the original Icarus.[1] And in Traumerei’s past, it was revealed another helper/companion was Amizu, who was Traumerei’s lover and close friend to the other Family Heads such as Yeon Yirang, Khun Eduan, Arie Hon and Po Bidau Gustang, before then deciding to turn against them and side with V and Arlen Grace.[2] [3] [4] [5]

Furthermore, as revealed by Amizu, in the past, after Zahard closed off the 135th Floor and halted the climb up the Tower, a faction of the the Great Family Heads helpers/companions, who once worshipped the Great 13 like Gods, had turned against them. With Traumerei explaining that they were outraged that Zahard had sealed the path to climbing higher up the Tower. As revealed by Amizu and Traumerei, these former companions had rebelled against the rest of the Great Warriors and had done something things so unforgivable, described by Traumerei to be beastly atrocities, against the future Family Heads that caused them and even their other companions like Amizu, who agreed with their opposition against Zahard, to condemn them. [6]

Author SIU said that the 10 Family heads (and by extension, their companions/helpers) are people who were there before the ranking system was implemented, so their actual battle abilities are difficult to estimate.

He also commented on their invincibility, stating that the Family Heads have little reason to fear FUG unlike the members of their respective Families. However, even they start to get a bit irritated when a FUG Slayer emerges, due to FUG's terrorism against the 10 Families.[7] Grace Mirchea Luslec, the founder and strongest member of FUG, is stated to be capable of making the Family Heads act directly if he personally moves.[8]

History[]

According to Garam Zahard, there were originally 12 companions that accompanied Zahard, but two of them, Grace Arlen and V, decided to oppose Zahard when he decided to stop climbing and become "King of the Tower". However, the other 10 Great Warriors remained on Zahard's side. Following the aftermath of The Great War, all public records of the conflict and the two's existence were either suppressed or erased.

Trivia[]

  • Only two of the Great Warriors, V and Hendo Lok Bloodmadder, did not obtain the perfect immortality contract that was rewarded by the Administrator of the 100th Floor. It was said that V rejected the contract while the reason for Hendo is unknown.
  • There were originally 10 Great Warriors, who were revealed by author SIU early in his career (2010).[9] However, later in the story (7 years later in reality), it was revealed there were a further 2 members (Arlen Grace and V).
    • In recent chapters, it was revealed that while their “helpers” who accompanied them were not as powerful as the 13 central members, they were still considerably powerful themsleves and are counted as part of the Great Warriors. This can be noticibly be seen in the Administrators contract Lo Po Bia Traumerei arranged for his former servant Enkidu. Where Enkidu can kill anyone in the Tower he desires and is protected from being killed by the regular denizens of the Tower, aside from the Traumerei’s former companions, including the Great Family Heads and their “helpers”, of whom can permanently kill him and he could not consciously harm or kill.
