Maxine Ballard is a deceased Fire Breathers recruit found inside Belching Betty in Appalachia.
Background[]
Maxine Ballard was the squad leader of the Scorchslayers, a squad of Fire Breather recruits.[1] During the squad's final exam in Belching Betty, the whole squad would be wiped out. Timothy Wolfe and Andrew Rhodes were killed by Scorched during the exam and Sylvester Tate deserted,[2] leaving only herself and Rita Wilcox to reach the end of the mine. At the bottom of the mine, they activated a beacon which they believed would give them further instructions on how to proceed with the exam. However, this beacon instead triggered an alarm which attracted a horde of Scorched to their location. Both Maxine and Rita were overwhelmed by the Scorched, dying before they were able to complete the exam.[3]
