Compared to the standard power fist, Greased Lightning deals the lowest amount of damage per strike of all unarmed weapons. However, its extremely fast attack speed, the second-highest of all unarmed weapons (only below the fully-automatic industrial hand) gives it the second-highest damage per second (DPS) value (again below the industrial hand). It also deals the lowest amount of critical hit damage of all unarmed weapons, albeit at a low-end AP cost and with high-end durability, a moderate weight, and the second-highest caps value of all unarmed weapons. It is considered an improved holdout weapon. Like all unique weapons, it cannot accept weapon modifications unlike the GRA variant of the standard power fist. It requires a 50 Unarmed skill level and 5 Strength attribute level to use effectively.
Visually, the weapon is structurally similar to the standard variant while having a nickel-black metal plating with a radiation symbol painted on the top, and three light copper-colored pistons. On the fist's right side, there is a "Radiation risk" warning sign. The 33 tally marks on the left side of the forearm are shared with the standard variant.
Special unarmed attacks can be performed at extremely fast speeds with this weapon.
Due to the weapon's high attack speed and low damage, its condition decays rapidly.
Targets can fly into the air or skid across the ground when killed with the fist.
If the Brotherhood of Steel is hostile towards the player, and the Hidden Valley bunker was not destroyed via the self-destruct system, Greased Lightning may be impossible to obtain. This is because Torres is set to respawn every three days (see Torres' bug section).
Combining the weapon with the Super Slam! perk results in using faster attacks that have high chances of inflicting "knockback" effects on enemies.
Sometimes, if it wasn't bought from Torres and she is killed for any reason, Vendortron won't have it for sale either. This can be fixed by uninstalling, then reinstalling Gun Runners' Arsenal.
Behind the scenes[]
"Faster than greased lightning" is an American idiom that was popular in the 1950s and 1960s, particularly in the greaser subculture.
