The mercenary's grenade rifle is a unique weapon added with the Mercenary Pack and/or Courier's Stash add-ons.

Mercenary's grenade rifle expanded
Compared to the standard grenade rifle and other variants, the mercenary's grenade rifle does the same direct damage (save for the Great Bear variant), shares the lowest damage-per-second (DPS) value with the standard variant, shares the highest AP cost and the lowest spread with the standard variant and Thump-Thump, shares the lowest durability and the lowest caps value with the standard variant, shares the second-highest weight with Thump-Thump. The one advantage this variant has over the others is that it solely does not have a Guns requirement, but retains the Strength requirement. Unlike most unique weapons, it also accepts modifications with the long barrel mod.

The mercenary's grenade rifle can fire a total of about 495 standard rounds from full condition before breaking.

- Grenade rifle - the standard variant found throughout the Mojave Wasteland.
- Thump-Thump - a unique variant found at Nellis Air Force Base in the Nellis array.
- Great Bear grenade rifle - a unique variant found at the Long 15 (requires sending the Divide missiles to target NCR territory during The Apocalypse).
- Red Victory grenade rifle - a unique variant found at Dry Wells (requires sending the Divide missiles to target Legion territory during The Apocalypse).

The Grunt perk has no effect on this weapon.
