I notice you're another new editor interested in improving 76's articles which makes me happy, and I'm impressed by you adding technical information to the character infoboxes, something I'm not really versed in finding (technical data). I was hoping you can help with the characters listed in this category. That way, we can get rid of all the "infobox incomplete" everywhere on articles like Frida Madani. Pre-war Infobox field[]

I can see your point about it being vague, and I'll ask about if it can be changed to be more explicit. To answer your second point, the main intended use for it is on pages like the Citadel, Nellis AFB, and Fort Atlas, where there's a clear pre-War owner and a different faction occupying it post-War. Personnel articles[]

Figured I'd reach out and get your opinion and input on the personnel articles. They are very much unloved except by the occasional few of us and need a lot of general maintaining to get consistent.

The development articles are broadly split into five groups: musicians, artists, actors, developers and miscellaneous employees with credits. Between those groups there should be two standardised layouts: internal employees (art, Dev, misc) and contractors (actors and musicians).

Internal employees we keep pretty much as it already is, Infobox, lede, background (new section), employment, credits, gallery, external links, references. We trim back the social media as discussed and add a new section for artstation for the infobox.

For musicians pretty much the same, but instead of credits, we make a new table to show the game, track name and first album release and track release date (be it single or album).

Similar with actors as musicians, I think we can improve on the credits for them with a new table, same layout as the existing table, but have each role on its own row.

The only other thing that springs to mind with internal employees and actors is how deep do we go with other credits? Do we keep it to the Beth/obsidian/black isle/interplay related, go all out or something in the middle like last credit before joining and first credit after leaving? I'm more for the middle ground so we are keeping everything fairly related to Fallout itself (and I'd like to make it one single list of credits where the Fallout contributions still standout within).

I'd appreciate your thoughts and let me know if I forgot/didn't consider something. I'm going to be playing around with ideas in sandboxes before making any major changes and it might be nice to have an actual policy. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 04:40, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Union Power Armor + Sizzling Style[]

Hi LaymansReign, I don't write much in Wiki and I hope it is correct to write you in this space. It was just for adding some info about Union Power Armor and Sizzling style.

For Sizzling Style that does not proc when a full set of Union Armor is equipped. Sizzling Style and Funky Duds legendary cards equipped:

With Union Power Armor: +200 poison resistance added correctly but no +200 fire resistance.

With Hellcat Power Armor: +200 poison and +200 fire resistance:

It is also tested by other people on the Fallout 76 Discord where I play.

Drawing a line[]

Thanks for your vote. In order to address Leon's concern, would you be able to support it if instead of the current proposed wording, it read:

• In the event that an incident which occured prior to December 4, 2022 is deemed to be so severe that it must be addressed, two-thirds of users may vote to make an exception and open an investigation into a specific event that would otherwise have qualified for immunity. The process for this vote is as follows:

1. All current rights holders, excluding interwiki, shall be notified on their respective talk pages, at minimum, that such a vote is to occur, and where the discussion will take place (Discord, a wiki forum, etc). If any rights holders are unable to access the platform or choice, accommodations are to be made to include them. Announcements on the issue should also be made
2. The discussion shall start no sooner than the last rights holder has been notified, and shall run for a minimum of seven days. At the conclusion of the discussion, a vote will be taken. The proposal to open the investigation can only occur with the consent of two-thirds of the users who have chosen to participate in the discussion.
3. If the vote passes, an investigation may commence following the current relevant policies. If the vote fails, the immunity for the specific offence remains intact and shall not be challenged in the future.

Alternatively would you support the proposal if requirements for patroller were changed to read:

• No minimum edit count; can be added if there is a consistent record of good consostent editing conduct over one month (this does not mean every day). Adding patroller can be done by any admin, content moderator or technical moderator, can be proactively offered, and should only be refused or removed where there is either recent rule infractions, or recent edits suggest the user does not understand or is intentionally not following guidelines.

(The effect of this is to make it easier to get into the group that is able to participate, effectively opening the "fortress")

Quest Stages: Spin the Wheel[]

The quest stages you changed to Spin the Wheel are entirely confusing. The quest stages area isn't designed nor intended to be used to explain a decision tree. It's designed to explain the quest stages when they are static. This area won't work with dynamically chosen quest choices. My original setup explained how it works precisely because of this event's dynamic quest choice nature. What has been written now is not at all simple and actually makes no sense. If you wish to add a graphical decision tree section to the article explaining how the dynamic quests can potentially proceed, that's great. The quest stages area is not the place to try and explain a decision tree textually.

It would be better to remove the current Quest Stages section entirely than leave it the way it is now, which is actually pointless and impossible to make sense of. --Commorancy (don't know how to properly sign this).

Taggerdy's Thunder[]

Hey there! I'm going to rewrite it a bit to make it more accurate. Blue's rewrite made it sound like Maxson just reached out randomly and asked Taggerdy to join an organization that already existed. In reality, Taggerdy and Maxson worked together for years before they formed the BoS. Also, the use of the word "extant" is confusing. That word means "not destroyed" or "not lost," which is problematic when describing a chapter that was both destroyed and lost.

tim cain in nuka break[]

tim cain in makeup as a fallout character and writing fallout content seems to fit "behind the scenes" criteria as i understand it. i added this paragraph to the page three days after it was created. oddly, it seems you added the character immediately after this sentence later the same day. (x)

i've been punching up this page for days. this sentence went undisturbed for nearly a year until i reformatted the paragraph to what i considered to be a clearer and more agreeable presentation

in no way am i trying to hold you to anything, or speak as if some precedent is the end-all. i do think that sentence is really strong. it notes the last time tim cain made something with fallout in the title. it involves an actual gay man appearing on-screen in a role of honor. obviously i also simply think it is neat

as i type this i'm realizing i don't actually know how to interface with the site to look at the policy for these things. searches pull up discussions, archives, and amendments i can hardly parse. if somebody said to me, "go read the stuff you were supposed to read before posting," i could not begin to identify the parameters of that. i've just been doing my best to add interesting information in a way that nobody would feel both compelled and able to tear down, & then laying out my case as plainly as possible if a teardown occurs. i kind of feel like i am always doing everything wrong. i feel like i am making enemies by admitting this

i don't know when else i'd air this out if not now: it seems like this wiki has ten watchmen for every productive researcher or confident writer. i never know if the pages i touch will become skirmishes of inharmonious edits amounting to a big empty passive-aggressive mess. when i go to the talk pages, people talk to me like i am a lost, malignant idiot because i understand things they do not, and then i always feel like i am breaking a rule by responding at all. when i am doing research, the amount of information that is inaccurate or missing on this website is constantly shocking to me. in the interest of containing no controversial or debatable subjects whatsoever, the wiki reads as hostile to information.

when i joined the wiki i restored the original design document for the video game Fallout and it was immediately deleted. things are better, now. but they're not fixed

i am frankly afraid i have already attracted bad attention from shadowy factions i dont understand by posting this. i want to improve the wiki so everyone who likes fallout has access to all of the information they want. sincerely can you help me understand my role in this?
