10mm pistol[]

Hey Aiden, thanks for the correction on the FO4 10mm's designation. Didn't realize there was already a discussion pointing it out. Just wondering if I could go ahead and put the background transclusion back on the FO4 article, or would it be better to wait for that whole page to get quality controlled first? Thanks. Per your policies, as you say.[]

I thought directly mentioning the player in cases like on Assault rifle (Fallout 3) are so fourth wall breaking, as though the person controlling the object using Form ID 00000007 was a character. I went with the manual of style. --Breakin'Benny (talk) 09:12, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

Walther PPK/Deliverer[]

Hi Aiden, how should I change it to fit int with the policy? I've seen other pages with similar facts comparing things to their real life basis, should a trivia section be added for it?

point lookout lore[]

thank you for clarifying all of that for me, i straight-up didn't understand the whole subplot. thank you as well for reviewing the page. i'm sure there's more room for improvement. if anything else seems inscrutable, misrepresentative, subtractive, or plain dumb, feel free to remove it as well. if it's really important i'll revise it. -Anachorite (talk) 14:48, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

Categories in Visual Edit[]

Thanks for the assist Aiden ! I did know that. Interestingly, I added the category in Visual Edit and that's where it placed it. Slots‎ (Categories go above interwiki, other changes.) - AngelaStuff2 (talk) 21:19, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

Move a page[]

Hey Aiden, just saw you were most recently active and wanted to reach out about moving this page to the author's personal blog? I probably used to know how to do that a long time ago, but I feel like I might muck it up. Thanks! --Kastera1000 (talk) 02:04, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not the author, that would be User:LosPollosHermanos80. I should have been more specific! --Kastera1000 (talk) 02:16, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Police pistol[]

When I said that the police pistol is "semi"-unique, that was in reference to it not being found anywhere else after you leave the Sierra Madre rather than it being a singular instance of a weapon. SkyrimsLord13 (talk) 20:55, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Sub recovery site[]

If a location in not a proper noun, we decapitalize it. You can see it for example all over the Fallout 3 locations page. How it is spelled in-game, does not take precedence over grammar. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Making a case for Crusoe and Clouseau[]

I would like to talk to you about this revision, without starting an edit war (I've been on the moderator side of that, I know how it ends). While I believe the main intent behind this Wild Wasteland easter egg was in fact Robinson Crusoe (which you seem to agree on), I believe I can make more of a case for there being a reference to the Pink Panther over there one to CSI: Miami.

My first argument is that among the three different names, I would say that Crusoe has more of a similar pronunciation to Clouseau than Caruso (which contains an extra syllable... unless you're Yankovic parodying Coolio).

Pronunciation aside, one thing that seems to be the case across all Wild Wasteland changes, reference or no, is a rooted intention in comedy (more so than what you'd usually get in this game franchise). Whether it's the Peter Sellers version or the Steve Martin version, the Pink Panther is that same level of stupid banal comedy that we get with Wild Wasteland.

Also, if we were to consider the dead replacement of Jay Barnes' name with his title, he'd be "Inspector Crusoe", adding more than just pronunciation to the similarity to "Inspector Clouseau". CSI, conversely, did not have an "Inspector Caruso" to match this same line of thinking. I'd call the connection to the actor's name even more strenuous than to the Pink Panther protagonist's.

Ultimately this is your call (or that of yourself and the other content mods and sysops), but I think there's room for all three references on the page if I didn't convince you completely. Schiffy (T|C) 03:38, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

As I'm not a CSI fan, I'll say I didn't know about the outfit similarities. That does give some more credence to the "Caruso" reference. While I definitely still think that Dafoe was the intended reference, I'll acquiesce to your argument. Have a good one. Schiffy (T|C) 23:00, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
