With the release of Deadpool & Wolverine we'd like to remind the community of some things. Please DO NOT add info from the Fox X-Men movies when it comes to pages. Only information stated within the movie itself is eligible to be added. In addition, do not upload pirated images from cam copies. We'd also like to ask that universe pages NOT be created if the universe name has a Placeholder template on it, as that indicates it is not the intended final name. Thank you.

Plot[]

At S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Director Nick Fury and Agent Phil Coulson review footage of the ambush that led to Tony Stark’s disappearance in Afghanistan. No one has claimed responsibility yet, but the Ten Rings are the prime suspects. Fury deduces that Stark was taken for something other than money. S.H.I.E.L.D. is unable to take action due to being strictly limited to domestic operations, but Coulson warns that the Ten Rings would make Stark build weapons such as the Jericho for them. Fury suspects Stark may turn over sensitive information to the terrorists in exchange for his life and sends Coulson to talk to Obadiah Stane.

At Stark Industries, Stane claims that Stark has always been unpredictable, but doubts he would give up defense secrets; he explains to Coulson that Stark mainly cares about inventing the weapons, and anything that happens to them after is left to Stane or Col. James Rhodes. Back at headquarters, Coulson requests to join the search for Stark but Fury refuses, stating that S.H.I.E.L.D. should be monitoring Stark's financial activity. He assures Coulson that top US military personnel are handling the search for Stark, but if even they can't find him, he's is on his own.

Three months later, Tony Stark escapes from the Ten Rings. At S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury sends Coulson to attend Stark's upcoming press conference. He remains suspicious of Stark's continued involvement with the terrorists, having found red flags in his company's finances. At the conference, Coulson meets with Stark's personal assistant, Pepper Potts, and witnesses Stark announce his intention to disband the weapons development sector, shocking everyone.

Sometime later, Fury and Coulson discuss Stark's sincerity in shutting down weapons manufacturing and Coulson is sent to keep tabs on both Stark and Potts. He considers recruiting Potts as a mole but believes her loyalty to Stark is too strong. S.H.I.E.L.D. then picks up a UAV sighting on the West Coast. Coulson wonders if there is a human piloting the armor from inside as it ices in the upper atmosphere but ultimately defrosts. Fury has the tech pull up footage of Stark's escape in the Kunar Province and recognizes the same figure, causing him to realize that Stark is the pilot.

The next day, Coulson confirms that Stark is the man in the suit; S.H.I.E.L.D. tried to hack into his home systems through one of their satellites but failed, with Stark destroying the satellite. Fury wonders if Stark has turned to producing weaponized suits of armor now and orders Coulson to speak with him personally.

At the Firefighters' Fund Gala, Coulson reports that he made an appointment with Stark, who abruptly left. Stark suits up in his latest armor and flies out of his mansion.

Fury and Coulson arrive in Gulmira regarding a Homeland Security matter and find footage of the Battle of Gulmira on a dead Ten Rings terrorist. Coulson learned from Stane that Stark used a prototype alloy that his father, Howard Stark, designed for a classified Project Rebirth product to improve his suit. Fury initially suspects Stark destroyed the Ten Rings' Jericho missiles to hide his involvement with them. Just then, S.H.I.E.L.D. is alerted of Stark facing two F-22 Raptors. Fury and Coulson witness Stark refusing to engage and opening Whiplash One's parachute.

After the skirmish, Fury becomes convinced that Stark isn't working with terrorists at all and orders an investigation into Stane's finances. Coulson meets Potts at Stark Industries and learns the truth about Stane's illegal dealings with the Ten Rings.

Later at the Stark Industries Headquarters, Coulson, his agents, and Potts move in to arrest Stane, only to find themselves attacked by the Iron Monger Armor. Fury frantically calls for backup. Fortunately, Stark intervenes and defeats Stane. Potts and Coulson flee the building as its Arc Reactor energy is released. After the battle, they find Stark unconscious, but alive. Potts is worried Stane may have survived as well but her fears are assuaged by Coulson, who drops riot foam bombs to make sure he can't escape.

During Stark's press conference at Stark Industries, Coulson and Fury are impressed by his potential. Stark reveals that he is Iron Man, rejecting the cover story S.H.I.E.L.D. provided. Coulson is shocked, but Fury had planned for this outcome, recognizing that Stark can break the rules and defy the odds under intense pressure to do the right thing. Fury goes to personally talk to him about joining the Avengers Initiative.
