Infobox faction and image uploads[]

Hey mate, just dropping by for two things.

First, I saw that you added a label to the infobox faction template. For the future, please make sure that you update the templates documentation accordingly when adding new things. I did it for your addition here. I know that the documentation is overlooked by most folks these days, alas, it is important to have. :)

Secondly, thank you for all those great image uploads, I love that you utilize the copyright template and also add it to categories. Really makes patrolling those uploads easy. Keep them coming.

:O I forgot about the documentation! I normally add it but it was late and I didn't pay attention :'( I will if I ever do it again. I won't forget it now, so thanks for the heads up and for adding it :) And yeah, I try to add everything needed to images and alike so appreciate it you noticed :D I've also seen that letting Fandom add the categories it just puts them on the bottom of the page so I'll also be adding them manually ;) And again, thanks for being so welcoming and helpful! --

Mutant crocodile[]

They aren't, but conceptually they are. Both are bipedal mutated crocodiles in a Fallout game. That's enough to have a small note about it. --Ryon21

One, citations are not used to show information on the page, but to show what the citation itself said. And second, BTS can be used to explain this cases. --Ryon21

Valiant-1[]

I had to bring the Valiant-1 stuff in line with usual way we do locations, which is by naming them according to how they are labelled in-game. If, for example, the Crashed space station didn't have an official name in-game or under the hood, Valiant-1 would have been perfectly fine. Hi Will, thank you for letting me know your views on what is going on. I value everyone's perspective and I don't want anyone to hesitate to bring something to my attention for fear of one thing or another. Please never apologize for adding to the conversation! I need that engagement to make sure I am making the best decisions I can.

I admit I have not yet had a chance to look into the issue at hand (I am just about to leave work) but I will when I get settled at home, feed the kiddos, all that. Aiding ban evasion[]

I appreciate you taking the time to explain the edits. It is important that we only add references that support the claim. For example, Captain Zao describing how he released the payload on Boston is not evidence that China launched nukes at the entire United States, and shouldn't be used as a reference for anything other than the fact that he released the payload on Boston. Critically thinking about these things in an objective way is something that is developed over time, and we have to be mindful not to slip into relying on what we have heard before or guessed or assumed in our own minds. I say this because you are a very excellent editor and have a keen mind, and I know that you will only get better as time goes on.

To address the elephant in the room, this is a difficult situation, because I value you immensely as an editor. But speaking to a permanently banned user on topics time and time again and then going to the wiki to add the information that they presented to you is not just having a conversation, its aiding their attempts at ban evasion, which is a serious issue that I can't take lightly. I know that you are innocent and did not know, so that is why I wanted to reach out to explain.

I have warned JCB2077 not to talk to you about Nukapedia issues in an attempt to have their opinions added to the wiki articles, and I am stressing the importance of not adding information you have received from them moving forward. Especially since the information they are giving you is speculative and incorrect, which is reflecting on you, and I don't want that, since I know you have such a sharp mind and are such a brilliant contributor. I hope that we can just put all this unsightly business behind us, I value your work immensely, you are a good friend, and quite frankly, I like having you around ^-^ Let me know if I can help shore anything up in the meantime. - kdarrow ^{take her for a spin!} 17:04, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

Steam rewards image[]

Drawing a line[]

Thanks for your vote. In order to address Leon's concern, would you be able to continue to support it if instead of the current proposed wording, it read:

In the event that an incident which occured prior to December 4, 2022 is deemed to be so severe that it must be addressed, two-thirds of users may vote to make an exception and open an investigation into a specific event that would otherwise have qualified for immunity. The process for this vote is as follows:

All current rights holders, excluding interwiki, shall be notified on their respective talk pages, at minimum, that such a vote is to occur, and where the discussion will take place (Discord, a wiki forum, etc). If any rights holders are unable to access the platform or choice, accommodations are to be made to include them. Announcements on the issue should also be made
The discussion shall start no sooner than the last rights holder has been notified, and shall run for a minimum of seven days. At the conclusion of the discussion, a vote will be taken. The proposal to open the investigation can only occur with the consent of two-thirds of the users who have chosen to participate in the discussion.
If the vote passes, an investigation may commence following the current relevant policies. If the vote fails, the immunity for the specific offence remains intact and shall not be challenged in the future.

Alternatively would you continue to support the proposal if requirements for patroller were changed to read:

No minimum edit count; can be added if there is a consistent record of good consostent editing conduct over one month (this does not mean every day). Adding patroller can be done by any admin, content moderator or technical moderator, can be proactively offered, and should only be refused or removed where there is either recent rule infractions, or recent edits suggest the user does not understand or is intentionally not following guidelines.

(The effect of this is to make it easier to get into the group that is able to participate, effectively opening the "fortress")
