"Metallic Monks"
The Dead Horses live at Dead Horse Point, up the Colorado River. They came here because I asked them to.Joshua Graham

The Dead Horses camp is a location in Zion Canyon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.

Background[]

After escaping the pursuit of the White Legs as they entered Zion, the New Canaanites Joshua Graham and Daniel argued over how to protect the native Sorrows tribe from being destroyed by the raiders. During the ensuing War for Zion, while Daniel wanted to evacuate the canyon, Joshua intended to retaliate against the White Legs and traveled to Dead Horse Point to recruit the Dead Horses tribe as scouts and combat experts, with their main camp being set up around the Eastern Virgin as a defensive spot in case of White Legs retaliation.

Layout[]

The only path to the camp is through a canyon reached by going east from the Zion Valley welcome booth. There are bear traps in the water, usually near wooden barricades.

In the camp are six bighorner hide beds (of which four are occupied), a campfire, and many sacks and clay pots containing mostly plants or food. Towards the south end is the entrance to Angel cave.

In the middle of the Dead Horses encampment is an island with a natural stone bridge. Climbing the bridge leads to a ledge with a skeleton along with a bag of loot.

TB High Fiving

Two-Bears-High-Fiving

  • If Wild Wasteland is an active trait, a Dead Horses tribal named Two-Bears-High-Fiving will rush out of the entrance to Angel cave in the camp, offering a fist-pump greeting before heading back in, where he will remain.
  • Like the rest of Zion, all NPCs in the camp will disappear once Honest Hearts has been completed.

Appearances[]
