Adelaide "Addie" Platte is the sister of Responders constable Lane Platte.

Background[]

Adelaide Platte lived with her father and her brother Lane in the town of Knight Ridge, West Virginia after their mother passed away. The town survived the Great War virtually unscathed,[1] and Adelaide and her family lived largely self-sufficiently for many years.[2]

However, around 2103, after rumors of a "treasure" in Appalachia began to spread, Knight Ridge experienced an influx of travelers, attracting raiders who soon attacked the town.[1] Adelaide and her father decided to leave the town with a caravan, causing her brother to call them "cowards" who were "unwilling to stand up for [them]selves." Lane attempted to fight the bandits off and nearly lost his life, causing him to flee as well. He has searched for his family but has not been able to locate either Adelaide or their father, though he still writes letters addressed to them in hopes that he may see them again, as well as apologizing for his actions.[3]

Appearances[]

Adelaide Platte is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Expeditions: Atlantic City update part one, Boardwalk Paradise.

  1. 1.0 1.1 A Vault Dweller: "Are you from Appalachia?"
Lane Platte: "In a manner of speaking. A small, small town called Knight Ridge, on the southern border with old Virginia proper. We survived the Bombs, almost unscathed if you can believe it. Lived in peace for most of my life. It was only with the rush of folks flooding in, searching for that treasure of theirs, that our lives were upended. Knight Ridge was raided, I fled, and was swept along to the Responder's Refuge, where I took up my present vocation."

  2. A Vault Dweller: "What was life like in Knight Ridge?"
Lane Platte: "Remarkably peaceful, considering the broader circumstances. Apocalypse, and all. We hunted our own food, knitted our own clothes... We were isolated, but life went on much as it had. When the raiders came and drove us into the real 'Wasteland,' I came to realize how much I'd take my life for granted. Seemed only natural to join up with the Responders and work toward building a world like we used to have."
    (Lane Platte's dialogue)
