X-02 power armor is a set of power armor in the Fallout 4 Creation Club content "X-02 Power Armor," later added to the base game in the next-gen update.
Background[]
Specially developed by the Enclave Department of the Army, the suit includes lightweight composites to give it additional speed and agility compared to other advanced power armor models such as the X-01,[1] It is also compatible with most standard power armor mods, although the additional plating makes it quite bulky.[2] Though the model was a prototype during the Enclave's time in the Capital Wasteland and only a handful existed at the time, special forces units like the Devil's Hand were given access to them for use in their missions.[3]
Sometime after the death of John Henry Eden, one member of the Devil's Hand, disillusioned by the practices of the Enclave, stole one of the X-02 prototypes and retreated to the Commonwealth. They were eventually inspired to use the armor to become a wasteland vigilante under the guise of the "Black Devil," but by 2287 they had grown old and abandoned that role, leaving the armor behind in hope that someone might take up the Devil's mantle one day and use the armor for good.[4][5][6] In 2287, an Enclave lieutenant in the Commonwealth was hunting down the Black Devil and ordered a group of at least six Enclave remnant soldiers under Sergeant Hodges to recover the X-02. After torturing the wastelander Connie, who had been trying to summon the Black Devil to protect the people of the Commonwealth, they discovered the suit's location in the Boston Police rationing site but have been unable to open the complex radio lock protecting it.[7]
The suit can be fitted with any and all standard power armor modifications, including Tesla coils used on the T-60 model.[8]

Location[]
- The power armor is obtained in the Mass Pike Tunnel underneath the Boston Police rationing site, during the quest Speak of the Devil. The "Devil's Inferno" mod can be found in a locked safe in the same location, requiring completion of the miscellaneous quest Enclave Radio to unlock.
- Multiple leveled sets are worn by Enclave soldiers during the quest Echoes of the Past.
Notes[]
- The power armor pieces found on the suit will be upgraded to a certain tier depending on the player's level when they discover it.
- The X-02 variant has slightly higher health per armor piece than X-01 armor would at the same level.
- At Mk VI, the Damage Resistance of the X-02 is equivalent to the X-01 at Mk VI, but it has 50 more Energy Resistance.
- The Devil's Inferno mod acts as an upgraded variant of Tesla coils. It deals energy damage to nearby enemies, increases movement speed by 5%, and taking damage recharges action points. Unlike regular Tesla coil mods on other models of power armor, Tesla coils on the X-02 and the Devil's Inferno mod are equipped to a separate slot in the mod menu than the armor's torso misc slot, meaning that other misc mods like jetpacks can still be put on the armor while using either Tesla coils or the Devil's Inferno. In addition, the X-02 is unique due to the fact that almost any power armor mod can be put on it.
- Each armor part has an additional mod slot for Tesla bracers which increase the effect of the Tesla coil and Devil's Inferno mods. It also modifies the appearance of said pieces to look similar to Tesla T-60 armor, and also shortens the length of the shoulder pauldrons, which is a difference also seen between Tesla armor and Enclave power armor in Fallout 3.
- As is the case with most Creation Club workshop items, the X-02 comes with a variety of paints that would need to be purchased as separate Creation Club packs for base game items, with said paints providing the same benefits as they would on a different set of armor. For example, if given the red paint as well as the Devil's Inferno mod, both mods will provide a movement speed buff, which will stack with each other.
Behind the scenes[]
The X-02 power armor is based on the appearance of Enclave power armor in Fallout 3. Despite this, it is explained to be a separate advanced prototype of which only a handful were created and distributed to special forces units like the Devil's Hand. This is in contrast to the Advanced Power Armor Mark II used by the Enclave in Fallout 3 by everyone, from trainees to common soldiers.
Bugs[]
Sole Survivor won't be able to exit Vault 111. The opening animation does not start when pressing the button and they will be stuck in the vault. Clipping through the vault door causes other bugs, like V.A.T.S. not working. Remove the X-02 add-on, start a new game, exit the vault, then add the X-02 back. [verified]
When starting a new game, the "X-02 Power Armor" add-on can cause a bug where theGallery[]
