Charging lob barrel is a legacy weapon mod for the Tesla rifle in Fallout 76.

The tesla lobber mod significantly increases the damage of the tesla rifle, and also makes it resemble a tesla rifle with the tesla shotgun mod. Although it is said to have 84 range, it actually has an infinite range, travelling completely straight in the direction it was fired - unaffected by gravity - until it hits something.
If a round is fired and it does not directly hit an enemy, lightning arcs will begin to spout out of the surrounding area, dealing small, but rapid damage to anyone who steps inside of it. The lightning arcs will last for several seconds.
In late 2023, the tesla lobber was broken by an update, causing it to fire like a normal tesla rifle. An attempted fix was implemented several months later, but it now causes the "CHAIN" visual glitch when fired.
Location[]
Charging lob barrel cannot be crafted or obtained through normal means. Previously only rarely obtainable on random weapon drops as a pre-applied mod from treasure maps. It is a now a legacy item and only obtainable from other players that had previously acquired one.
The mod was popularly seen on hacked cryolators until a 2023 patch removed all weapon mods applied to incorrect weapons.
It has been rumored that this unique barrel will have a plan in the future, thus making it obtainable again and no longer legacy. This rumor has more or less died out after the America's Playground update did not yield such a plan, however.
