About Moving the "Mountains" Page

First of all, yes I know I used the wrong category for the page I was trying to move, so thank you for fixing that for me. I couldn't actually move it with the name Extreme Hills since there is already a page with that name, that is the redirect page. Second of all, if you look at the talk page we did agree that a split is needed. As far as I've seen on the wiki, as long as something is in a development version, no matter how major it is, it's not too early to edit it. Zegatrox (talk) 20:36, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

MCW:UPTODATE states that articles should contain information that is available from the latest full version of the game (e.g. Java Edition 1.17.1). Development version != full version. BDJP (t|c) 20:51, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
Can't we just place a {{snapshot|je||1.18}} template on the split page? Humiebeetalk contribs 23:40, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Suggestion: Separate Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Earth, and Minecraft Story Mode

Thank you for protecting the dungeons mob page. Could you please keep it protected so that all edits must be suggested to admins like you. Also, I don’t believe that the dungeons layout should be the same as the vanilla layout. The reason why is because they are both different games. Yes, one is a spin-off and is in the same universe, but it is a whole separate genre. I propose that the dungeons mob page should be categorized by more than just passive, neutral, and hostile. There should be subcategories within them like animals, golem, undead, Illager, non-alive, decorative pets, environment, summons, objective mobs, natural mobs, non-attackable mobs, and ancient mobs. However, this is just my suggestion of a better layout for the dungeons, earth, and story mode wikis. Drour1234, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

No. I only protected it to prevent edit-warring. I appreciate you being bold with your edit, but after it was reverted, it should've been discussed on the talk page. Instead you decided to revert the edit, which led to the edit war, hence the page protection. Both you and Rogerio980Pizzaa should discuss on the talk page or the community portal regarding what should be done about mob classification.
On an unrelated note, I've noticed that you've been using this account instead of your original account, Dour1234. I understand that you have a lot of subpages under that account, so I suggest that you move them to the new one. I've gone ahead and blocked the original account as a way to prevent sock-puppetry in case you are blocked. BDJP (t|c) 19:17, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for removing my original account. However, I kind of want to keep the sub pages at least until I get around to moving them. Drour1234, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Another suggestion

This is just a minor thing. On the dungeons mob page, the “Llama (summon)” link should possibly be just “Llama.” Also, in the game files, Wind Callers should be categorized as Non-Illager allies because they are not classified as Illagers within the game files. Drour1234, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Blocked

I see that I was blocked from editing on that page. I am curious as to why I was blocked. I was trying to restore the behavior names found in the game files rather than have the conjecture behavior names. I was also correcting the term player to hero which is the term for the player character. The reason why I put the Orb of Dominance on the Ender page is because it is associated with the End and it’s shards appear in the Lone Fortress and the Gale Sanctum. The user who is trying to add the conjecture names back and is reverting my edits is OmerHahaha. Can you please talk to them about this? I can’t since I am blocked. Drour1234, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Both of you will need to discuss this on the talk page. Edit warring of any kind is frowned upon. BDJP (t|c) 19:56, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
I just found out that it was just an error, not a block. Hope that clears everything up. Drour1234, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Next time, instead of reverting my edits, you can try to improve it if its not related or not what you want. I know there are several times when I accidently made a mistake somewhere, but you can always fix it if you do not like the edit. – Unsigned comment added by ThanoSmellBad (talkcontribs) at 01:31, 29 August 2021 (UTC). Clearance isn't Clearance?

Hello. Recently, we had a discussion on the Mountains article about a video. Very confused by a comment you made which is making me think about admin noticeboard for it. Please note, I am not talking about the video, only about your direct comments. "Clearance or not, it is still self-promotion." is the comment I was to discuss. From that statement alone, you are taking a policy, the MCW:VIDEO policy about no self-promotion and excluding a part of it which says and I quote, "Individual videos can be discussed on the relevant page's talk page". The fact that you are threatening with a block due to the exclusion of that quote is stupid and irresponsible. As an attempt to defuse the argument between us, I brought it here so we (me and you only) can discuss this matter further since you believe the discussion where Humiebee, another "Pro" editor like yourself, gave me clearance to use my videos for trivial information. I will also not add that video back to that specific spot for a reference, but I will use that clearance I was given in the future. We can discuss that further here, but please, do not threaten me with a block when we both are in the "wrong" to a degree. Skipperooo (talk) 03:55, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

The only person that is wrong is you, honestly. I am not excluding any sort of information from any policy whatsoever. By your logic, you assume that because you were given clearance on one page, that makes you immune from violating the video policy on all wiki pages. Luckily, that is not how this works. Once the discussion concluded on the talk page, you were allowed to add a reference to just that page, in this case being "Java Edition 1.18 Experimental Snapshot 1". Of course, that reference has since been removed, most likely due to testing in-game, which is also the case as to why I removed your video on "Mountains". Alas, you decide to try to call me out on hypocrisy when I am just following policy. For the record, I am also a wiki director and administrator.
Effective immediately, any further videos from you will need to be discussed on the respective talk page for a consensus; this includes any video which contains information that can be found be testing in-game. Failure to abide by this rule will result in an immediate block. BDJP (t|c) 04:15, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Not going to lie, that is BS since it will never happen. I watched you guys draw out a discussion a week just to close it with comments even in the discussion about waiting 24 hours. For the record, I promised to not embed videos in a videos section, but I will use videos as reference IF I find trivial information not described in slicedlimes video or in a change log. (Please note, I did not say my videos). Best wishes, but knowing how you just said that "effective immediately" rule after I questioned you makes me annoyed and makes me not want to listen to it. Moving a page

Moving a couple of pages

Hi, I just have another question. I just made some edits to some Minecraft Story Mode pages: Soren, Gabriel, Ellegaard, Magnus, Wither Sicknesses, The Blaze Rods, Command Block Diamond Tools, and Command Block Enchanted Book. I was hoping if you could move them over to the following pages: Soren the Architect, Gabriel the Warrior, Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer, Magnus the Rogue, Wither Sickness, Blaze Rods, Command Diamond Tools, and Command Book.Drour1234 (talk), 7 September 2021 (UTC)

Current Dungeons Mob Page Layout

To me, the current layout is very confusing. Some mobs are non-attackable and should be categorized as such and some mobs are mobs that are categorized as things that are not mobs. Minecraft Dungeons is more complex than regular Minecraft and the mob page should reflect that. The page length should not be an excuse to cut things from the page as the way it stands currently, the page involves very much a sense of confusion. The layout on the Minecraft Dungeons: Mob/Edit Copy page is much less confusing. Drour1234, 15 September 2021 (UTC).

How would you obtain the tutorial world seeds? If I recall correctly, the tutorial world generates with a random seed every time you create a new one, and is therefore uncorrelated with the seed shown in the load world screen

Java 1.18 announcement

What is the difference between the twitter post with the link to the article and the article itself? I already had the link to the twitter post on the page, which has a link to the article. I was just wondering why you changed it? Drour1234, 17 November 2021 (UTC).

We do not need a link to the tweet (which in turn has a link to the article) when a link to the article is already been used as a reference. Nobody should have to go through an extra step to be able to get to the actual source. BDJP (t|c) 20:39, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Unfair file deletion

The files File:Java Edition 1.17.jpg File:Bedrock Edition 1.17.0.jpg were of better quality and resolution and were taken in their original form from the source. Why did you decide to leave File:Caves&CliffsJava.png File:Caves&CliffsBedrock.png instead and hastily delete files? Deshman-gpuser (talk) 02:40, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

They were simply duplicates. Also, not every single file on this wiki needs to be a .jpg file. BDJP (t|c) 15:18, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
1. JPG is the original format of images from the sources. (Example banner. When downloaded, some browsers may save it in webp or different format.)
2. Since the format of source files is jpg, your files are converted from jpg to png, meaning it's has fewer colors, less quality, and more weight than the original files.
3. Resolution of your files are lower (your files 768 × 328 vs source 1170 × 500).
So please restore the files you deleted. Deshman-gpuser (talk) 05:41, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Ravager in Java Edition

Hello. I understand why you undo my edit on Illgaer and Ravager, but I'm really tired of an ignorant community who doesn't even go to the game files of Minecraft. Ravagers are Illagers in both Minecraft Bedrock Edition and Minecraft Java Edition. Everytime I try to explain this, people shut my mouth. I'm tired of it. Ravagers are classified as Illagers in Minecraft Java Edition game files. Both in code and in textures. If you want I can show the proof or just tell you the location of the files. Vex are also Illagers. The only Raid present mob that isn't considered an Illager is the Witch. When i try to say this you always revert (not just you, the wiki itself). That info on the Illager page is wrong. It's because of these failures, that this wiki is far from being accurate to the game (no wonder Microsoft no longer supports this wiki). I would kindly ask one last time for people to put Ravager and Vex as Illgaers because otherwise the info is wrong. It's not your game experience that tells you what is true, it's what the files tell you is true. Thank you for your time! This is no offense or attack ok. I just want this issue to be ended once and for all. Witheremperor2006 (talk) 20:23, 20 February 2022 (UTC)

Textures, in this case, would be irrelevant. A texture for a mob cannot assist someone in classifying what kind of mob it is. In regards to your claims that ravagers are illagers in Java, and that vexes are also illagers, I say "show the proof". Let's see if the code classifies them as illagers. BDJP (t|c) 20:40, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
Fine then! Not gonna write a giant text but here it's a fragment of the Ravager code in Minecraft Java Edition:

        "ravager",

If you have any more doubts just go to the game files if you can find the ravager there. See for yourself. Thank you for your time! By the way, (sorry for the giant text comming), here is the full JSON Ravager code, enjoy:

Question about a text

Dear BDJP007301, good morning! Can I add "Issues pertaining to ancient cities get closed as "Invalid" on the bug tracker, as they are currently available only in experimental snapshots at this time" on the history section when ancient cities are released on normal snapshots and they start to be monitored on the issues tracker? So the issues sections could be just a template in the future.

EDIT: the text might be: Issues pertaining to ancient cities GOT closed as "Invalid" on the bug tracker, as they WERE currently available only in experimental snapshots at THAT time

Have a happy day Matyh talk 15:21, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

No. The History section should only revolve around in-game changes, not changes pertaining to information outside of the game. BDJP (t|c) 21:34, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Realms is not Java-exclusive

At the time Realms Plus was introduced for Bedrock (late 2019 or early 2020), the Realms page was marked as Java-exclusive and the Realms Plus page was created and linked with a {{for}} hatnote. This was incorrect, because the mark Realms Plus only applies to one of the two Realms subscription types available to Bedrock. The lesser subscription is only $3.99/month, allows only 3 players at a time, and is still called Realms. The Realms Plus page is perfectly accurate except for its implication that there is no longer a lower-priced subscription. The Realms page is accurate except for its implication that there is no Realms for Bedrock. Clearly, the page was split by somebody who was unaware of Bedrock Realms before or after Plus was introduced. I'm not sure what to do about this. Adding Bedrock Realms back into the Realms article seems like the least work, but having Bedrock Realms described on two different pages seems wrong. I was thinking maybe we should rename Realms to "Realms (Java Edition)", rename Realms Plus to ""Realms (Bedrock Edition)" and add the lesser subscription info to it, and make Realms a disambig page. What do you think? — Auldrick (talk · contribs) 21:23, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Regarding the split, that was made by myself back in December 2019, which was because of this article, mentioning that Realms on Bedrock was replaced with Realms Plus. Of course, seeing as that is obviously no longer the case, I  Support moving the Realms articles to the new names as you have described. BDJP (t|c) 22:04, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Not sure what to do with this mess

User:Köpleres added a disambugation page Aguatic (disambiguation) which is misspelled and links to an existing page Aquatic which already has disambiguation {{For}} templates in it. Their purpose was apparently to add Dungeons and Earth articles, which if I'm not mistaken aren't supposed to be cross-linked into Minecraft articles in the first place. What needs to be done with this? — Auldrick (talk · contribs) 15:02, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

The information on the Warden is not false…AND CONSIDER THIS A WARNING!

On Minecraft pocket edition 1.18, when I last updated it on iOS, the description read “Bug Fixes” but when I went into the game, I noticed the warden and allay were added into the game! THIS IS NOT FALSE INFO, OK!?

Jeez… – Unsigned comment added by SURFERDUDE99 (talkcontribs) at 00:06, 1 May 2022 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

The information is false because:
A) J2ME is not used for Minecraft
B) The "Pocket Edition" term for Minecraft on iOS/Android has not been used since 2017.
C) None of the mobs mentioned were added in Bedrock 1.18. They are in 1.18.30, but behind an experimental toggle, henceforth that they were not added to the game proper until 1.19.0.

Notice

The Pirate Bay is a pirating service. Things don't get "released" there. Stop undoing for no reason and saying it's vandalism, this is obviously some stupid power-tripping mod abuse and I'm not dealing with it. I won't hesitate to contact the other mods or FANDOM staff if needed. – Unsigned comment added by SpongeFan99 (talkcontribs) at 02:30, 14 May 2022 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

Me undoing your edits is not "power-tripping mod abuse". The reason as to why they were undone is because it is already noted in the Trivia section of the article that it was indeed posted to The Pirate Bay by the actual company that produced the movie. A source is also there confirming that the upload to the site was indeed legitimate, therefore invalidating your entire argument. For the record, I am a wiki director and administrator, and will not be intimidated by any sort of threatening remarks.
I have also restored the talk page warning that I had posted. This will be your final warning regarding your recent edits. I will not hesitate to block you from editing if your behavior continues as it is. BDJP (t|c) 12:41, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

I noticed this comment just now.
I would say "no". There are a lot of things derived from Minecraft, none of them official, none of them from Mojang. The scope of this wiki doesn't inlcude coverage of all those thing. As an example, we don't have articles on unofficial books. Likewise, we shouldn't have articles on unofficial spin-off games. Amatulic (talk) 18:17, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

Invitation to talk Superflat talk page

Hi. I started a discussion at Talk:Superflat#Forced into creative mode in Bedrock to come to a better resolution than what we've been disagreeing about in edit summaries. I prefer that the article doesn't make a statement that is false for users who are fully up to date with the latest Windows version of Minecraft. My version is false for some users, and your version is false for other users, but not knowing anything about this new UI you reference, I don't know how to change the text to be informative for all users. Sound Tables

I recently saw you moved the froglight sounds to a template. I had inlined other sounds as well. Is it the case that they belong in these templates always? Since most weren't to be necessarily reused elsewhere I had inlined them, but that said it makes the page harder to peruse during editing. So what is the best practice here? Thanks. - AD OffKilter (talk) 15:11, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

The template pages are mainly just hosting the sound table, and AFAIK, they can still be easily edited. BDJP (t|c) 15:27, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

Lore behind the Warden and Wither

It took me long to realize, but it turns out that the Wither has a complicated past with the Warden. Currently, they are enemies and have opposed each other at several points. This can be backed up by the Warden’s hostile nature towards the Wither. They are complete enemies as the Warden engages in a fierce combat against the warden (despite being blind) while the Wither breaks through the surface, invades the deep dark, and wants to see everything: the ancient city, the ancient builders, and the warden, destroyed. – Unsigned comment added by Mack (talkcontribs) at 00:06, 1 May 2022 (UTC).
