Jim Walker was a former professional baseball player mentioned in Fallout 76, introduced in the Expeditions: Atlantic City update.

Background[]

Jim Walker was raised in Charleston, West Virginia alongside his sister, Janice. He moved to Boston and became a professional baseball player with the Boston Swatting Sultans.[1]

On October 23, 2077, the day of the Great War, Jim and his teammates, including Nathan Broadhurst and Matt Murtagh[1] were at Fenway Park early to train before the fourth game of the World Series against the team from Texas later that day.[1][2] However, while Nathan was up to bat, a nuclear bomb detonated, though the three were shielded from the blast due to the stadium's walls. When the teammates believed the worst of it ended, they decided to leave Boston. Matt left to try to reach Atlanta, while Nathan and Jim left to try to reach Charleston to meet up with Janice, who was also Nathan's fiancée.[1]

The pair traveled west from Boston onto Highways 90 and 84 before reaching Hartford. There, they met up with a group of survivors and traveled with them until reaching Altoona. From there, Nathan and Jim split from the group and continued on into the town of Bedford. The town had been walled off and the pair were confronted by a bald man who led a biker gang. The pair were captured and tied up in an old bank, but managed to escape and reach the roof of the building. While attempting to jump to the next building, Jim was shot, killing him before his body reached the ground. Nathan managed to escape and reached Appalachia, but was not able to find Jim's sister.[1]
