ā€œThe Narrows up ahead, that's the Sorrows' territory. They're peaceful enough, but you don't want to make them mad.ā€ā€” Follows-Chalk

The Narrows are an unmarked location in Zion Canyon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.

Background[]

Sometime between late 2095 and early 2096, Randall Clark moved from his campsite in Two Skies cave in the southern half of Zion to Stone Bones cave within the Narrows, where he remained for around 3 years. Between then and early 2097, he saw a group of Mexican refugees killed by the Vault 22 expeditioners, followed by Clark's own guerilla war against them that killed a third of their hundred-strong group.

By 2281, the Sorrows tribe inhabits the Narrows as their main camp. During the War for Zion, they are joined by the New Canaanite missionary Daniel, who seeks a way to help the Sorrows evacuate Zion to escape the onslaught of the White Legs.

Layout[]

Situated in the northern half of Zion, the entrance into the Narrows is found slightly north of the Caterpillar's Mound, marked with a wooden sign reading "NARROWS."

Exterior[]

The winding cliff sides and its many dead ends can become troublesome, as the higher one climbs, the higher the chance of falling a fatal height.

Interior[]

By going through Half Mouse cave and exiting through the back, it will lead to the higher part of the Narrows that contains a few beds, some minor loot (must be stolen), and three geckos. The geckos will not harm the player character unless provoked. By continuing up a ramp, several cliff sides all along the Narrows can be traversed, which is a good way to get around.

Related quests[]

Notes[]

The three geckos will not attack unless provoked, although killing one may not alert the others. If they do turn hostile, the tribesmen will aid the player character in combat.

Appearances[]

The Narrows appear only in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.

Behind the scenes[]

The in-game Narrows are based on the real-world location of the same name in Zion National Park in the state of Utah.
